Looks like things are getting better for the resorts that have been lacking for sure. Fun fact - Jay peak has had 289" so far this year. More than Jackson and Alta.

The light is flat everywhere in the AM, these things are kind of an issue. i do like the "Brighton - esque" stuff they put on Sidewinder, but i went down that Saturday pretty much trying to do a recon mission that since i really didnt know where they were, and ended up catching one with just a little bit of air and landing on a second just before the lip, and that was a little uncomfortable on the feet for sure. i had no idea about the one on Challenge and rolled the windows up pretty good on that one too. Oh, and even if NMDW has the best snow, there is so much park crap on that now its the dumbest trail on the mountain.

I have forever wanted to do that. I should have tried harder with the alterra/elk thing. You know you are big time if it makes it to alpo zone or reddit.

Who will be spearheading this operation? the company that wants to sell it because they cant put a hotel up top, The lady that sold it, "that wants to buy it back", or some new owner? Personally i think someone around the age of Becky Boo, or Enjo's kids are the ones that might be remotely possible to ski those conceptual trails on the left of that map. I do love me some good lift rumors though. gives us something to talk about.

2 differences from yesterday to today. What ever it was that fell from the sky last night deepened the sugar to hide most of the glacier like spots. And more importantly, cheesesteaks! the skiing didnt suck, but its an easily forgettable day, until the grill gets fired up.

i dont see any chairs on the main street cam. did they put them away for the night? that would be so unlike Blue, i know. if they did put them away, i wonder if they really have any idea how to get them back out.

i dont buy into any of this KSL wants to sell, and Barb wants to buy it back. BS. Barb should continue to wipe her ass with $100 bills, and smile. And, i still dont really understand who owns the property, BMMR whatever, but KSL manages it? i dont know. but after putting in a lift of some big $$$$, i cant see how selling it, unless they are cool taking a loss, would work out. its like restoring an old hot rod, putting 100K into it, thinking you will get your money back out of it.

Oh holy hell today was gooood. Like,”save the neck for me clark” type stuff. Like doug, i had some google issues from the get go that messed with my head. We stood in wet snow for quite a while and right before opening i started to fog. I cleared them up a little on the gondi ride, but it just wasnt great and got worse to the point they were pretty much soaked and really a problem but plowed through as best i could. I made it to the potty at the top of one lift for some well needed TP, to at least dry the lenses, which helped tons. Anyways, man that early run down the hobacks was totally worth the price of admission. Deep deep stuff, but pretty heavy. Big open field of untracked loveliness. Currently using the hair drier and heater to dry all my shit out. Everything of mine was pretty wet. I need to step up my “rider of the storm gear”. What a great day. Areas in the hobacks probably had the deepest snow i have ever skied in.

Its ok today.

i dont disagree about a forecast days out, but i do think this guy is pretty sharp, and somewhere on this site i posted his map that had 50" for JH when you were out 2 years ago. lets see how he does with this one.

im waiting for Tomers lastest video, but yesterday he had 16" for the weekend at JH, and used words like jackpot for JH, but we shall see. Doesnt sound bad, thats for sure.

Since its clear you can tear shit up quicker than trump at the all you can eat McRib day, how about a piece of angle iron welded, or bolted to your existing cutting edge? But have the front slightly elevated or level, so its not digging in?

Dom and i took a spin down NMDW as well, and i concur with what you said. the jumps arent fucking up the run nearly as bad as in the past. i was however a little shy around the last turn thinking there would be something dumb there that i wouldnt be able to see in time. When we started down NM, it wasnt to bad, but then just got progressively worse as the run went on. Get this - @RidgeRacer gave NMDW lower marks than i did.

i was just seeing some stuff on FB (so it must be true) an hour or so ago about some heavy bands coming through, and it is snowing like a MF at my place now. i think we will do better than 5, but less than 10. i still do think LH valley and pocs will do the best out of this though. i should actually go shovel some since i dont wanna do it tomorrow morning. i could show some pics of my lawn furniture covered in snow if you like.

Dont you have feet on your plow? i probably have my feet set so my blade is actually about 1" off the floor, if you were to look at it sitting in my shed. i dont tear my driveway or plow up. i do also have my plow so the blade itself is kicked forward, and the top back, so it kinda scoops rather than tries to dig in, if that makes sense. The way i have my feet set, i actually use to to push leaves to the back of the property in the fall, and i dont tear the shit out of my yard doing that.
