I would think they would hold off on snowmaking on the learning hill until at least the haul rope is up. Vista, paradise, homestretch, lots of other places to put down snow when they can. I keep watching K’s cams, and they are giving it hell, but still finding that snow melts when it rains or gets warm. 3 hrs of snowmaking, and 40’s and sunny during the day is pissing in the wind.

it has been trending a little colder. And yeah, thats the week i think they will be looking at pretty hard, but i sure would like to see daytime temps towards 40 rather than 47.

Grass doesnt grow when the temps are under 50 degrees. looks like mowing season will be over sortly.

That lift was installed at Cameltoe. I would favor the quad or old 6 first then over to the Summit Safari Super Six Pack Supreme, but honestly, the only run there that i think most would be interested in is Widowmaker, or, if the line is shorter there. unfortunately Widow maker wont be the most forgotten trail at Blue. It will be interesting to see how crowds gravitate towards which lift.

of course i am intrigued by the big sno cone maker, but honestly it looks like a really expensive, possibly impractical toy. it will be interesting to follow along.

It does really look that way right now. I keep hearing about a pattern flip mid month, but that remains to be seen. im still going with K is gonna have a hard time pulling off their ski race, which, of course doesnt bode well for us either.

I think they ran out of stuff to put up.

The more i think that relying on the new lift to work right out of the box, perfect, and blow a bunch of snow on trails that only that lift services, could be the mother of all fuck ups. But, i guess they have the tot lift or what ever it is, as a back up, but its not a great plan. If they blow on paradise, sunny delight, and then move to like challenge, those are trails that can be serviced by both the quad and six. Cause we all know, neither of those lifts will run for an entire day without needing to put some more quarters in it. i still think when it gets cold, Blue will make snow. What they make snow on really depends on how that lift is coming along, and their confidence level in it. We all know, even new stuff can break.

i dont disagree with basically at some point, it has to get cold. but i just dont see it for a little while. hope im wrong.

i would be willing to make a wager that Killington cancels or postpones their ski race for the end of November too.

the new lift is 2600' long, moves at almost 1000' per minute, and takes you directly over top of all of this bullshit, that makes you feel like you are skiing at Sesame Street.

They get an A for effort. Glad i didnt rearrange any plans to go skiing last week.

Not to be the Debbie Downer, but i still see a ton of work to be done. Its one thing to just hang all the pieces up, but another to actually make them all work together.

i turned my heat on when i came home and my bedroom was 55. like i said, i like it cool, but that was chilly.

What did it get down to? I feel like i can usually hold out longer, i tend to keep the house on the cooler side anyways, but even i gave up weeks ago. I do wish we had a little longer "open windows" season. seems like i had the AC off for like 3 days before i turned the heat on.

Seems like they have been making snow and watching it melt for about 2 weeks now. i dont know much about K, but i think this is what they concentrate on first. I wouldnt be canceling any plans thinking this is gonna be a go for this weekend, but its nice to look at.
