  1. Thats awesome
  2. Hard to do Cardboard classic with no snow on the tubing hill, too. I think Vail would probably want to stay very far away from the mass drunken idiots riding cardboard death machines down the tubing hill, being cheered on by the mass of drunken spectators. i dont think that fits into their business model. i guess at some point they have plans to have tubing in future years, with it still being on the map. I wonder how many people just show up there to find out they dont have tubing.
  3. one can only assume that the "new" lifts at JFBB will be "new to JFBB lifts", and not actually new. Vail probably has a fairly large stockpile of used equipment laying around. Plus, moving things around from the top tier resorts to the lower resorts only makes sense.
  4. Looks like there is a Little Caesars in either Wilkes-Barre or Scranton. i would imagine they are open on Tuesdays. Enjoy!
  5. Dont forget to deduct gas to vermont, but divide by 2 since im sure you made your buddy pay up. Also wear and tear on the car.
  6. Sounds like it was the long haul that got evacuated this weekend. I wonder if the John Deere has completely shit the bed. Anyways, it sounds like that lift is out of commission.
  7. Late night call to head up to Greek. Met up mbike and jeff this morning for the ride up. Got on the snow just after opening, probably 8:45. great conditions, little bit of snow overnight after 10-12” from thursday night/friday deal. Cold, and snowed lightly till probably 10:30. Nice light fluffy snow in plenty. Lift lines were a little crowded but slopes were not. Trees were nice. more later.
  8. Fine by me. me and TTC6 used to carpool all the time.
  9. Keep me in mind if you are thinking of making a move north.
  10. Oh yeah? When? I was looking at it this morning.....but i didnt see those amounts. I need to find a "local guy" that knows the area for weather. Paging skiitoolives.
  11. Im a firm believer in the fact that pretty much anything can be fixed, it just depends upon how much money you want to spend. I would agree that the drive is fine, and they need to basically start from scratch on the wiring and sensors. I am sure they tinker with this thing over the summer, replace this little part, and fix that little connection, but like you said, its operation is affected by the cold. So over the summer, when they do tinker with it, it runs fine, and everybody thinks it will be fine come ski season. Time to go to the manufacturer and get help with making it run. open up the wallet, i mean, spend some of that upcoming revenue they will receive from that paid parking.

Its also interesting to note that the trail doesnt seem to be littered with random skiers there to help, and by help i mean take photos, post to instagram, or FB. Not sure whats going on above the main focus in the pic, but i think it is probably another set of patrolers evacuating another chair. Unfortunately our interactions with SP at Blue are mostly whistles and arm waving, but they do need a certain amount of respect due to some pretty significant training. But they did also open Razors that one morning when it was shiny ice the entire run.

i call this a huge success. Doesnt appear as though anyone was inured, nobody stuck over a water main break, and the video i saw looks like it was a pretty organized evacuation.

And yet, with all of the bizarre and messed up stuff Blue does, they manage to pull off the stunt ditch..........by accident no less. I have said it before, over all, Blue is kinda messed up. but its that kinda messed up that we have all grown to love. Might be some changes coming, but you simply cant undo something thats been messed up for a while, in a few months.
  15. Scrapple sunday.
  16. So, yeah, stunt ditch all used up, and conditions were better yesterday. Glad i took Midway when the others took chute breakfast was 10/10.
  17. Buoy is bouncing around again for like friday-ish.
  18. Im pretty sure we got more snow yesterday.
  19. quick afternoon session. lift lines werent bad, they actually looked worse than they were, i was thinking i would head over to the double if it got bad, but just ended up running the quad. skied TCS, and Razors. both super fun, the ditch on either side of TCS was fun, skied some Volkswagen bumps, skied some smaller bumps, and even grinded the spine on skiers right. The most people i saw on TCS was a group of patrolers. Razors was a little 3D snow, with some scrapy spots on the first headwall, but nothing crazy. The quad was behaving for the most part. The baggy pants crew were heavy in the house, most likely enjoying the now ruined NMDW. Really miss that lefty righty with some speed down that trail.
  20. you have to come for scrapple sunday.
  21. functioning snowblowers are so over rated.
  22. Im not a fan of this storm being awesome for us. Hopefully that thinking will push it more in our favor.
  23. I would prefer if they made fixing the god damn lifts priority #1 with any kind of "extra" revenue. But yeah, the parking lot would be so far down my list, it might be on the second page. The lot doesnt bother me at all. Blue should perfect the art of taking as much cash out of spectators pockets as much as possible. Specifically at the tubing hill, which i hope they have started to do with that outside seating thing with the flame thrower table.
