I saw that as well. i guess i am curious as to what they will have open. I looked this morning, and their list of open trails wasnt that significant, but at the same time, i dont think they are exactly on top of updating their web page.

How fast was he going?

Ski season goes by so fast. fun day, skiing was ok, but its always a good time hanging out with you weirdos.

you and i know that JF is gonna be super duper sketchy this weekend. Such a good time, and skiing through puddles, around dirt, over rocks and through the weeds should be a yearly ritual. it was said last week, they dont have to be 100% open to be open. So glad they will be open this weekend. Once they mow those jumpy things down on NM/DW theres plenty of snow to push around. -
2,3,4. You can watch what ever sporting event Villanova might get into on TV. Cant go skiing on TV.

Closed tomorrow and thursday. No real shocker there. -

Thats Blues #1 FB fan. That pretty much sums it up right there.

They do know how to bring them in with pricing for sure. I can see people saying, "well, i guess the lines werent maybe that bad, and i could put up with them again....." If you can be flexible, and stay away from peak times, it works. Granted i was there Sat, late season, but it was apparent some trails were not blown full width, and there was no snow what so ever in the trees. not a speck. Not that i was expecting to rip up Happy Land Sat, but with nothing in the trees, they didnt focus on them at all. Peak treated Happy Land like it was a trail, just like Challenge.

i paid $583 for the epic local last year. i am very surprised to see them (what i consider) this cheap again this year. If you have plans to ski around the Northeast, sure. If you are comparing a "JFBB" pass with Blue pass, it fits right in there. Vail had way too many issues with their resorts on the East Coast this year. They lack the importance of snowmaking. I really hope they improve the overall customer experience for next year.

Great parking lot activities, great food, fun on hill activities. Skiing was, well, just ok, but it was skiing. Hopefully i will see most of you weirdos again this coming weekend.

Just bring a table to set up in back of NMSKI's car. Breakfast goodies are prepped and ready for the oven in the AM.

Fun for a couple mid day runs. Great weather. Not sure what they will have next weekend, but i will give Vail some kudos for even being open. things are thin, nobody, and i mean nobody was there. From a past passholder point of view, Peak would close with a shit ton of snow, in March when day pass people stopped showing up, Vail has the place open, but skiing on/around grass at times. i remember skiing the Elevator with @phillycoreand @RidgeRacer on more than one closing days. Looks like alot of trails werent full width all season. if you could combine Peaks model on snowmaking, with Vail staying open later, like i mean skiing on some sketchy shit, you might have the perfect happy meal combo, with a toy. it is kinda sad to see the place just isnt the same it used to be.

That was kind of abrupt.

hope you feel better for sunday Doug. Take the Drs. advice. -
this is what i was planning on bringing rather than actually cook breakfast in the lot. i think i can keep it warm for the ride from my house to Blue, then can be reheated in Emjos oven. FYI - i am planning on a bacon egg dealio, and a french toast thingy. More the better!

Thats my benchmark as well. if i am going to travel 2 hrs to some resort, it best be for something more than lib, RT, WT...... Greek over those almost any day. i will be interested in seeing if you still drink the Vail kool-aid as much after they announce their 22/23 pricing.
-
I dont think they will either. And i think they will have more pass options, to add to the confusion, and try to sway some from skiing weekends as much.
-
Im ok with this. I have said it before, i will pay more for the pass provided there are less people on the mountain. real world is this probably wont happen, but its always good to dream. do you think vail will sell the same amount of passes as they did last year, when they announce that pass is gonna be $1000?
-
i think when you compare the price of the pass to a similar hill, like Elk, its actually on point. I dont find $650 this overwhelming amount of money considering. I mean, yeah, ski sawmill, montage etc will have lower priced passes. No disrespect to Montage, i like the place, but i just dont think its, well, somewhere i could spend every weekend. I think everyone should really stop comparing any season pass to an Epic pass. Its a different product/model. Plus, i think Blue out performed all of the local Vail resorts this year in snowmaking alone.
-
I thought i read that both of them would show up, and care should be taken to pick the one from 21/22 to hand out first.
-
Yup, without the pass, i would be less likely to ski. No way im gonna show up and fork out $100 or whatever to ski at Blue. Somewhere else? sure. So far my Epic pass has mostly turned out to be a convenience thing, rather than a huge financial gain.
