  1. its more about the base then the temps at this point, and there is a good amount of base, at least in most areas. Hell, if they would mow that shit sticking up all over the place on NMDW, we could ski there until May. Not every trail has to be open for them to have skiing.
  2. i saw that last week as well. I sort of wondered if they were using that as a guage as to whether or not the lifts would continue to spin, like if XX number of tix is break even for expenses, and they sell XXX, they know they make some cash, and dont "leave money on the table"
  3. Im thinking more time skiing, less time cooking. Less fuss, less mess. Not saying we cant cook up some breakfast, but im not sure how into it i am this year.
  4. Im thinking about some pre-made breakfast items for early AM.
  5. Conditions were pretty much as predicted, it was pretty nice that it quit raining and started snowing as we were booting up. Where the new snow stuck, it was pretty nice, but crazy slow. Wind was pretty interesting. Parking lot always good. Another super delicious sour from beer fairy #2. thought for about 2 mins about going to BB, but it is blowing like crazy here. of course im in the mood for a pizza, but im betting my #1 spot is closed because of the snow.
  6. Kinda depends where you are and how far you wanna go. My '55 hasnt had the best track record, it was towed twice last year. first time about 7 miles from my house, that was $100, and then the second time i probably had to get towed about 20 miles and it was $2XX. So i got AAA for $100 a year. The tow companies that are contracted to tow on 76,276,476 have to take AAA, so basically for me it makes sense. they tow 100 miles for free.
  7. What are you expecting sundays conditions to be like? Are you thinking a snowstorm during the day Saturday will net you big powder turns on Sunday?
  8. Am i the only one that thinks this is going to be heavy wet snow, at least for the majority of the time it snows? and then its gonna get really cold overnite. i just cant wrap my head around rain to snow, being rain to really light fluffy powder. Dont get me wrong, love to see it snow, but lets remember its March in the northeast.
  9. I think based on current rumors its gonna be the 19th or 20th. i just need to put the finishing touches on your D-Skis.
  10. They need more room for people to stand when waiting in line for East Mountain lift. Glad to hear you are back at it.
  11. i would agree with this. There is some "insider info" to contradict the March 20th closing, but once they do go weekends only its like anybody's guess.
  12. i can relate. every bit of car insurance, homeowners ins (that i pay out right), some property taxes, some other insurance, income taxes, ski passes, etc, all come due this time of year. i swear i spend like twice as much as i bring in over the next 2 months covering everything. But, then its all paid and over with.....
  13. thanks for the good laugh with that site. Boy they are really shooting for the moon. I am really wondering where they get their data from. Elk = 29". lol. Not that i dont want it to snow, but i do think this will be a repeat of yesterdays snow. Wet, heavy, good for base snow.
  14. The FB weather enthusiast for Carbon County says.... Early overnight guidance coming in shows a significant snowfall for Saturday in what would be our largest snowfall of the season.
  15. Did you really just take down your Christmas decorations? As i moved my blower around in the garage yesterday, i said to myself that i could take that back to the shed for summer storage.
  16. I read an article recently that stated that the mall was in quite a financial bind. like it had $800 in the checking account, and wasnt clear where the next payment, which seemed to occur semi annually for some reason. Not sure how that will play out for the ski joint. Here we are......https://unofficialnetworks.com/2022/02/15/american-dream-mall-home-of-big-snow-only-has-820-left-in-its-bank-account/
  17. Really good skiing today. Cant wait till they mow those obstacles down on NMDW.
  18. Im not done with them yet. You are gonna look fabulous on them.
  19. Oh yes! cut like butter. These are gonna ski great!
  20. Wish me luck. Wish @toast21602 more luck.
  21. yup. If the cost of gas is a factor when purchasing a snowmobile, jetski, or boat, you shouldnt even consider it. My waverunner burned 12 gallons an hour at full throttle. Zero fucks given on the price of gas, just a huge grin. Back on topic, good ski day today. First runs were great, and then of course it didnt get better, but still good skiing and parking lot stuff.
  22. $583 was the epic local last year. northeast stuff and some stuff out west. I didnt save tons of money, i mean in the grand scheme of things, either way, i wasnt going broke or saving big dollars.
  23. Cameltoe isnt my fav. Nothing kills the vibe of skiing a mountain like when the lift takes you over the sesame street water park stuff. Its no where near as prevalent at Montage. The lure of low crowds at Montage.......that will wear off quick, a trip down razors, challenge, or Nightmare/Dreamweaver (before it gets all fucked up with park crap) will most likely have you reconsider the low crowd deal at Montage. dont get me wrong, im a fan of montage. i would pay to go there, before i got a free ticket, close up parking space, and gourmet lunch at Toe. Who made snow last night in the area?
