  1. My thoughts exactly. I will buy a day pass for an Epic resort before i buy the pass, at least until they have undone what they did.
  2. Purple banana big time. Awesome.
  3. Snowbasin and Sun Valley leave Epic for Ikon. https://www.stormskiing.com/p/ikon-pass-adds-snowbasin-sun-valley?s=w&fbclid=IwAR3ZWrpThNpsaMizl5ljEaN6lwIVRXwar4VB1Nx1Z27Y7KGL6ReqLsPSE9M and Ikon released info, pass goes on sale sometime in March. All this makes my head spin like crazy. Im not the biggest fan of having my pass (other than Blue) dictate where i ski, but i am very interested as to what Epic does for next year. They gotta get their shit straightened out.
  4. Day 6, solo skiing with groomers in mind since my legs just arent as fresh as they could be. Small crowd to start, which i thought would be the theme of the day. 2 laps on International with some nice fresh cord. A lap on Paradise, then i made the decision to see if East River was cooperating, which it was. I talked with some type of employee on one lift ride that said a groomer hit one of the East River towers Thursday night which caused it to be closed Friday, i saw a groomer toting a welder down to it at one point, and then it was just a little pissed off on Saturday, i think they were able to run it, but not full speed. East River is a nice area, and has some great trees, so of course i couldnt resist. Made the best of the trees, even though it probably wasnt too pretty, but we just dont get to ski decent stuff off trail at Blue enough, so its hard to pass up. Went to eat when the lift lines started getting a little longer then normal at noon, odd thing was, the restaurant was empty. Ran some groomers from the base after lunch, alternating between silver queen and red lady, depending on the line situation. The Teocali lift was down for maintenance the past two days. no big deal, as that lift really doesnt go anywhere i was concerned with, but on the lift ride with the CB employee, who i think was an instructor, eluded to the fact that "maintenance" was code word for "lack of employees". Im not super happy with Vail, i just dont like their business model, and what they are doing to skiing in general. i feel like Vail just wants to show the skiing public who is boss. I like to think Vail has fucked up Crested Butte the least of all its resorts. We will see. I never saw "epic" lines when i was here, but Barb says things have picked up over the past 2 years here.
  5. i am like 95% sure they are in my closet. i will hit you up if they somehow went missing. Thats them. i am 95% sure i didnt actually go through with that. @toast21602.....dont worry.....i just didnt like the graphics. Not cause they ski like shit or anything.
  6. i will make you a pair if you ski them. Demo bindings and all.
  7. Good news is Barbs knee is feeling better, but unfortunately not able to make it out today. Went out with Barbs friend Ilise, and despite the fact she snowboards, she pretty much kicks butt. So yesterday the East River lift was closed, and with a little bit of snow that fell the night before, we heading right there, since that was going to have the best snow. When we got down there, the lift was stopped. we were there long enough to click out, as the lift was doing a start/stop kinda thing for a while before it did get going at slow speed. good news, cause theres no way out of there without hiking up a ways to the Paradise lift. It stopped once or twice on the ride up, after we passed a guy up on one of the towers, so we bailed on staying in that area for fear of getting stuck down there. Skied a little bit of trees, but at this point my legs arent going to put up with much more of that. Stuck to some groomers after that. got pretty crowded, it is after all, a weekend. Stopped at Uley's Cabin, as they were celebrating Uleys birthday, who is supposed to be 107 years old. Had a bowl of Elk Chili and a beer, which got us some tickets for the raffle of a snowboard. I didnt win, and i wasnt too disappointed, i mean, who needs one of those things anyways? Nice pit stop with some good views. The Spice Girls showed up. There were four of them in total. Random tree pics.
  8. i had some help from Barb, she had me ditch one upper layer before we started, and i was fine for the trip. As you know, zero degrees here and zero at home are 2 different things, so i constantly second guess myself out here anyways.
  9. Skin lap at the resort this morning. 1 mile up. currently back at Barbs eating everything in the fridge. Going back to ski shortly with another friend of Barbs who snowboards. Already trying to get her to ditch that and throw on some skis.
  10. Thanks for making me feel really old.
  11. What if you have the Indy Pass? asking for a friend. @Ski2Live Live2Ski
  12. I think you should start warming up to the idea thats not gonna happen for a 4th year.
  13. what a day. Started off by getting a ride to the mountain from Barbs neighbor in her suburban. Reminiscent of 7 dudes and gear for the ride to Jackson, since this time i had to sit in a childs car seat. It was snowing pretty good on the ride up, it let up just a little for opening but vis was really pretty low. Snow was lighter today, and did feel like there was more than the 5-6" that was on the snow stake. i did find where the snowstake is located, and its pretty low on the mountain, so that makes sense. i ran Paradise lift for some powder turns, then in and out of some trees, big powdery bumps, really beat myself up pretty good by 10:30 when i met Barb at East River, so taking a little leg break over by the umbrella bar was welcoming. after a few runs, we took lunch at the umbrella bar, since all of a sudden the sun came out. so things went from this, to this by lunch. That was pretty short lived, as we were sitting at the umbrella bar, the wind picked up, and in the distance you could see clouds rolling in, and when we were finished lunch, it went back to this. After lunch i ran some laps off the Silver Queen, vis on the trails was poor, trees were good, but my legs started telling me it was time to go. Once i got back to Barbs, it started just dumping when we took a walk up the street into town. some other random pics from today. Forecast is 8-16" overnight.
  14. since skitoolive passed on the purchase, i was more than happy to take his spot as a season pass holder. i am sure Blue is just up in arms about him not being a season passholder, but somehow they will get by.
  15. there was a Bear wandering around one day early season for opening they had to poke with a stick to get moving.
  16. so, 16 degrees and the snow was really heavy for whatever reason, maybe it was windblown. kind of snow where people were pretty much eating shit pretty regularly. Anyways a pretty damn nice day today all the way around. it was definitely some work to float this heavy stuff, but got actually easier to ski once it was cut up a bit. First runs for Barb and I were off Paradise bowl, and thats where i quickly found out how heavy the snow was, i skied off the groomer track and it kinda sucked me in, threw me around some, ending up skiing switch a little before i gathered things back up and got things going in the right direction again. played in some trees, but the overnight snow isnt doing tons to fill in the steeper areas which are pretty trenched out, and scrapey underneath from basically 30 days with no snow. The bumps on the trails were really better than most stuff in the trees. Barb and i split up for a few runs before meeting back up for lunch. Found some better trees around International, had no idea where i was actually going, got kinda lost, and ended up at the Umbrella bar. Managed to make it back to Paradise to meet Barb for lunch a little late. Ate lunch, Barb headed back to her place, and i was just gonna cruise a couple more trails. They had sent a couple couple bombs off earlier as they were working on the high stuff, both Tbars had delayed openings. The Tbars opened after lunch, even though i saw people standing in line before lunch. i rode the Paradise lift with an instructor who said the stuff off the high lift was kinda blown off, exposed rocks, but the stuff off the North lift was better, but still not great. i wasnt up for the line up at the Tbars, and since im solo, legs were telling me go home, so i passed on that today. Snow is supposed to continue until thursday sometime. It didnt snow too hard during the day, but looking out the window now, things have really picked up some, and its after 4 pm here, so things should get a nice refill, and we will be at it again tomorrow. pics in a few.
  17. In the line up. Gonna be busy. To be expected. Vis might be a little low light snowfall
  18. Pasr cameo appearance on the "Blue Mountain is great" video at about 40 seconds in.
  19. price seems pretty much in line with what everyone really was thinking. i am sure they have no idea how the paid parking will actually work without creating just a huge back up of cars trying to get out.
  20. Yes it is. We will see if this verifies
  21. Doesnt matter. Its not on one of his many multi mountain passes. Blue looked empty from the fox 29 video.
