it was so good this morning, that even Sidewinder was super duper. For day 1. That never happens.

There used to be a ton of old school portable snowmaking equipment at frost. Vail probably auctioned it off with the old chairs. BB had a ton of portable fan guns that i think would make their way over to frost at some point, but peak was way more aggressive with snowmaking at frost. For years i skied there, i feel like east was open around jan 1st more years than not. keep in mind, peak sold season passes and day passes. Getting the mountain open asap increased day pass sales. Vail sells season passes, and thats pretty much all they care about. I said it earlier this year. They drag their feet making snow. Passes have already been purchased. Aggressive snowmaking at either resort doesn't make their wallets any fatter.

paradise had the best snow. Main was good, Midway to lower main good. Switch was "Gnarly" per DW. The rest was just firm. Honestly though, its hard to be unhappy as to where we are currently with trail count. Last year at this time we started losing trails off of an already low trail count.

like the Elk news got old, and someone needs a new rumor to spread around?

NMDW is supposed to open today at 10 am. With no features. Best news ever.

Purple eggplant X3. Thats some good stuff there. And there wasnt an inch of snow on the lower part of switch sunday. Is bumblebee bowl one of the 8 remaining trails to open? I do always get a kick out of the fact they put some bumps on an open, existing trail, and that magically turns into another trail to up the trail count. I still think they should let chute bump up occasionally.

i dont know who this guy is, or why exactly he now shows up on my FB, but lets see if this pans out.

Great weekend. One might think we could see nmdw and challenge for next weekend. That would be pretty sweet. Switch had some decent snowmaking up top, but nothing lower down. All in all, we are in such better shape than we were last year.

this week coming up almost looks like a repeat of last week, but might stay cold right up to Christmas. if this pans out, Christmas week should be really good.

Hunter opened up some new lift yesterday. i wasnt there, but i thought some might find that to be interesting news.

How does one transfer the Blue Mountain buddy passes? we do have 2 by the way, i just checked. i think you transfer them to someones email address? Can they just sit on them for a while? like if i transfer them now, can they pick a day like 2 months down the road?

They are back on. But i did see that as well.

i went and saw them too, and it had to be the reunion tour around 1986. i cant for the life of me remember where though. wasnt at vets stadium. for some reason i think it was in like Bryn Mawr. Outdoors. sat on the lawn. very crowded. Could have jumped a fence.

i was expecting mainly snowmaking on existing trails as a refresh. looks like a few sporadic guns on the existing trails, with the lower part of razors going, and it looks like upper upper main, and a patch down towards lower. i think conditions today might be firm.

Very much so. this is starting to get reminiscent of last year. I think we are a little better off right now, but after this rain resources will go to refresh whats open, then new stuff. Rinse and repeat for next week.

I took time out of my busy day on Monday, as there was a survey in my email, to remind the wonderful people at blue mountain that we dont like that.

I hope there weren't any lines. The trail count and lift count are almost the same.

yeah but at the same time if you go put new tires on your truck that will pretty much guarantee 50 and sunny for the balance of winter.

i was gonna ask if anybody had seen the top of Lazy to see how much snow was there. this will be a nice addition. well, at least to spread people out. im pretty sure we know how it will ski tomorrow.
