  1. Good to get out, since Saturdays weather in the Poconos was total shit. Conditions were pretty much to be expected after a warm spell, then some moist, then a freeze. Didnt get scanned once while we were there. So, basically, i still dont have any idea if my pass does in fact work. It was crowded. I havent been there for a few years, but i can tell you from the cars in the lot, to the lift lines, that got pretty significant by 10:30, it was crowded like a holiday weekend crowd, from years past. Granted, not lots of places open this weekend around here. So Epic pass day 1 is in the books. I hope i can get my Epic days in to where the price point is at a level of where @skitoolivelovestoski would be proud of me.
  2. Lovie park, Tannenbaum (which loosely translated means "Christmas Tree") and little Boulder. Ski school if you need a lesson.
  3. Thanks. i dont have access to it right now.
  4. I also learned what deciduous trees are from this site. What a wealth of knowledge here at times. I also learned the word grundle, from you guys too, so take it all with a grain of salt.
  5. Yesterday Weatherbug was picking up on that deal the buoy was laying down for Christmas. gone now, but i think it will come back.
  6. @Schifand for this word. i had to look it up. isthmus. noun a narrow strip of land with sea on either side, forming a link between two larger areas of land.
  7. I would agree. I am really just focused in on Sunday evening and beyond, with what look to be our best shot at decent snowmaking temps to date. What happens this weekend? Who knows. But i bet the beer in the lot will taste good. Gonna focus in on the positives, rather than complain about the things that are out of our control. Plus, i only have like 3 more days of work this year.
  8. I must have left before conditions got shitty, cause i thought they were pretty damn good myself. Just couldnt see.
  9. Well if you would stop using it all up during the weekdays, we would be fine for this weekend.
  10. Pretty impressed with what they have laid down at the Valley.
  11. Cameltoe be like dropped the ball. Big time.
  12. This is my uneducated guess as well.
  13. Lazy, tuts, homestretch, paradise, upper main, lower park? (right of the 6) Burma, shuttle i think thats about it for now..........
  14. Nobody can say that they arent taking advantage of any chance they get to make snow. Kudos to them. Past 2 days have had bonus snowmaking temps, although not the best temps. I hope this holds, it looks like after some moist on Saturday, we get some decent overnight temps starting Sunday.
  15. I wasnt in love with conditions yesterday, but just like you said, add in people that shouldnt be on midway in the best of conditions, and its a recipe for badness. Being able to get down Midway in these conditions makes you a better skier. Sure, it would be easy to just go to Frost and ski the 4 flattest trails, but where is the fun in that?
  16. Accuracy would drastically improve if there wasnt so much crap floating around creating excessive bursts of enzymes, and shit getting stuck to it. The last data i went through, there was something going on around Christmas. We will see how it plays out.
  17. As someone whos work revolves around the weather everyday, he is "ok". He has blown a forecast more than once. Most people will only remember a forecast for some type of storm, but like i said, weather is our life at work. Not slamming them, but they fit into every other outlet trying to predict weather, that just isnt a cut and dry math problem.
  18. The East Mountain lifts have been problematic for years. A few of us were actually told to jump off of that lift one time when it stopped. I would also wager that none of these lifts are in fact "brand new". Truth in that. Honestly, every time i get on a lift there i wish i had brought a book.
  19. vail announced they are replacing the east mountain doubles with a quad next, year with the other lift upgrades. i think another one at Boulder as well, which still completely blows my mind.
  20. Both days. looks like the rain moves in for my afternoon nap Saturday.
  21. Seems like CB has faired well with early season snow, while Utah is twiddling their thumbs waiting for some.
  22. Guns still going. This might be the longest stretch of snowmaking to date.
  23. Im not sure if it was the wake from the Zinc Queen barge hauling all of the summers dirty diapers away, but there was some movement this morning. Looking at right around Christmas.
