  1. Looks like its live. https://www.epicpass.com/passes/epic-pass.aspx 20% off. So with a Blue Pass increase, and an Epic pass discounted, its sort of a wash. I will probably, definitely, most likely, maybe buy the Epic Local, since i plan on another trip to Crested, which probably would cover my days there for $67 per day, or somewhere around $.87 per run, depending of course if its just lapping groomed trails, or doing some other stuff up top. Leaves me plenty of money for Cocoa and maybe even a soft pretzel. looks like i can get some cheap airfare if i dont mind flying BWI-MIA-PHL-DEN-DFW-GUN. let me know if anyone wants me to book them some airfare.
  2. Who is "they" ?
  3. If the surging drive, which caused the bounce/sway and led to the accident.......how come only one chair was affected? No other chairs bounced and swayed? Just that one? I have no insider info, i wasnt there, and i dont ever proclaim to be the ski lift guru, but i just cant get away from a part failure. I really have to imagine ski lifts are tested for at least some level of bounce and sway. They have to be.
  4. So is Blue on the epic pass or what?
  5. Major props buddy. I would have... 1. Eaten shit getting off the lift. 2. given up shortly there after 3. Tossed said ski shoe things in the trash.
  6. Ultimately Camelback will be at "fault", and even if they inspected the lift the day before, or had an outside company do it, and it got an A+ rating, i mean, there still could be a part failure that is so bizarre, nobody has ever seen before, etc, but it will still be Camelbacks fault. A part failure doesnt mean their lifts are shitty and dangerous though.
  7. Anyone else wondering if the pass price increase had some outside influence of some kind?
  8. I think the alien pass probability is just as slim. Absolutely. Have someone outside of CB deem it safe. Lets not all forget that ski lifts are inspected, what, every year before opening? Who does that? the state?
  9. I'm trying to wrap my head around this. So what did Vail "buy" as far as JF/BB and Hunter, for example? The right to run the business? Granted Vail bought Peak for a lump sum, which i assume some of the other properties Peak did own and operate. I'm sort of thinking Vail has to own the lifts and snowmaking equipment. It seems what little they did at Frost (fixing the quad) and BB (Taking down part of Edelweiss or whatever lift it was), happened on their dime. . I do get that not owning the property would actually be in Vails best interest, like in the case of JFBB, where, lets face it, they really operate those resorts to get people on their pass.
  10. How so? what do you know that nobody else knows? And i dont get how the skiers responsibility code applies to the lift, so help me understand that as well. Spot on.
  11. I know. it just bugs me that people are quick to jump on FB, especially a Blue fanboy, that has no interest in ever skiing Camelback, but feels he likes to see his name on the internet or something. No reason in the world for that guy to post there other than to stir shit up. #1 priority is the people affected by this. Not making shithouse comments on FB.
  12. There is a Blue fanboy posting over on Camelbacks FB site asking if the lifts are safe to ride. Douche move in my book. People dont think this could happen anywhere?
  13. All hear say though, as far as i am concerned. I do think camelback should make a press release before this gets completely out of Control.
  14. Wait, i mean i dont have any love for camelback, but why are they “assholes?” Did we all of a sudden figure out what happened with the lift, from all of the assumptions on PASR? you of all people would be in the front line defending Blue if it happened there. We really dont know anything other than it happened, and a bunch of comments from FB, and liftblogs site, that i wouldnt take to the bank just yet.
  15. I would think a business would like to control the situation, rather than let media outlets run wild with information that is not 100% correct. i think remaining silent on the issue is not the way to go.
  16. Holy fuck, you sure do drink the Vail Kool-Aid, dont you? Not that there is no way that could happen, but i think its very unlikely. the word Vail hasnt been thrown around on this at all. Camelback is on the list for both KSL and EPR, and still not on the Epic or Ikon.
  17. Damn, this is horrible. I hope everything turns out ok for the people riding it. We all like to complain (some a lot more than others) about a lift stopping, or going down during the course of the day, but like @Kyle said, its mechanical, lots of working parts, wear items, etc..... so i think its pretty obvious they sometimes shut lifts down to avoid issues like this.
  18. You are loosing your Delco, brah. Its Ack-a-me.
  19. i love Toasts Bread.
  20. pancake batter mixy thing? i have like 6 bottles of water.
  21. Some more breakfast meats might be a good idea of someone can swing them.
  22. Ridgeracers content is fact based. No fake news. Dont want to tarnish a fine periodical without proper investigation. I am sure he has his team out investigating.
  23. Rumors are just that, but the only reason they have to be open on the 3rd, is really just so they can post "skiing in April!!!" on FB. This weekends crowds will most likely reveal the closing date pretty clearly.
