    Elk 2020/21 Season

This says they will, but its not up and running yet. they also say they wont be limiting ticket sales. not sure how thats gonna work out for them, but it will be fun to play along. https://www.elkskier.com/covid-19-info/?fbclid=IwAR3cLgej-49FPg1W6ydWSr9Z1fJnimlYdFZHIOlGw68rafHoxuGPAfkNQuA
  2. Good ski day today. Blue is putting on the snowmaking show in PA. did anybody ride the quad today to see how they were making out on the best trail in PA? (Nightmare/dreamweaver for those reading this from palmerton)
  3. Is that a bow in top of it, mike? Present for karen? cant wait to see what you guys end up doing with them!
  4. Everybody knows this is Vails business model. But if they arent producing a good product at these resorts, its unlikely they will keep the local passholders entertained. I guess they feel thats an acceptable loss. you bailed on Frost last week because their offering of trails wasnt up to your high standard. PoconoOceanCity was a JFBB passholder for years. made one trip to Hunter. Made the move to CB. Not every passholder wants or has the ability to travel to Huntah, snow, or out west.
  5. FB says paradise is a go for tomorrow. fun day with you morons that started out quite cold.
  6. Saw some FB stuff that lines up exactly with what you experienced. Really ashame they just dont seem to give 2 fucks about those 2 resorts.
  7. Alta had some Blue issues......
  8. Barb called to let me know the 6 is loading. You guys need anything else you let me know, ok?
  9. Looks like the sudden influx of skiers is hitting everywhere, i see where Whiteface and Gore have suspended both season pass and day pass ticket sales temporarily. Definitely will need to be some things ironed out across the boards for Resorts.
  10. Dont worry, i just called Barb to have her get the six going.
  11. There are a shitload of developments around both of them. Split Rock, Brier Crest, Towamensing, Holiday Pocono, Hickory Run, MT Pocahontas, just to name a few within 5 miles of BB.
  12. Crap...we asked Jim Daley that question, and i think the answer was yes, and you did it online. Maybe someone that was there without memory loss will remember.
  13. This is true, but when its snowing, and you risk being late for first chair, and your dog is looking at you with the "go get the shovel, asshole" look on his face, the charm wears off.......
  14. Yep. last year there was quite an uproar over the no local pass thing. Even more so than some Pocono peeps, it seems like the crowd down there had absolutely no interest in skiing any where else. and lets face it, from there, you drive past JFBB to go to Hunter, and thats a pretty good drive.
  15. My dog loved snow at first when he was a puppy, then the charm quickly wore off. Plus, i think snow fucks with a dogs mind when you train them to poop on grass. Always had to shovel a spot down to grass for him to go.
  16. Looks like the lifts are on hold for some Avy work.
  17. I know a bunch of people local to JFBB that would prefer not to be forced into the Epic pass, but do it just for JFBB, so even though its minor competition, it would cut into sales of the Epic pass some.
  18. OMG. Booting up with snow on the lot. This will be a problem for many i can only imagine.
  19. I think if you start seeing more park trails at Frost, it could be the start to the end of BB. I doubt they would really sell BB, at least not without a non-compete clause of some type. They wouldnt want to put someone else in business, and possibly take revenue. They just took lifts down at BB, correct? No improvements, from what i remember over the past year.
  20. BB's hay day was like ~15 years ago if im not mistaken. They were at their peak then, and maybe thats when the park scene was also at its peak. Seems like even with what they were doing there, the audience for park was dwindling away, but the audeince they did have was still pretty hardcore. Like what RR said, park is what put BB on the map, and it made total sense to just turn that place into one big park. I remember going there years before park was a thing, like if you left the trail, or your skis left the ground you got your ticket clipped, and the place was a ghost town during the day. BB with no park stuff what so ever, signals to me that its circling the drain. The only thing that might be keeping that place open is night skiing. i am sure Vail has had more than one conversation about having these 2 resorts so close to one another, double the expense, but probably not double the income.
  21. 2 line items on a spreadsheet. Its becoming super apparent they are the 2 biggest losers.
  22. With...........(drum roll please) tannenbaum. unless i am reading their FB post wrong. Thats pathetic.
  23. I sort of think they would just cancel each other out. Eaf and salty though? Dynamic duo.
  24. Well? how are the new sticks?
  25. Looks like Karen woke up a little late. Not sure how she wasted $1200 today though.
