  1. Whats the snow like? I mean, i know its manmade and all, but is it like Blue Mountain snow, or JFBB snow?
  2. ^^bitches about having to make a reservation to ski, but buys tickets from liftopia. got it.
  3. where u see that pricing? my guess is, since there probably is a limit to how many tickets sold each day, i sort of think "discount" tickets are a thing of the pass. Honestly, they could probably jack up rates pretty good, and still sell out. Just my worthless 2 cents on the subject.
  4. i can tell you for sure, its not OCNJ. but thats all i got.
  5. I might be of the minority around here, but i would pay more for a pass at Blue if they did actually limit the amount of passes sold in a day.
  6. Interesting. Part of me thinks they are trying to lure in the Ikonics to get them to burn up their days in the early season, but im probably just reading to far into it. I would assume for the unlimited resorts, its just like having a season pass from the mountain. If not, oh boy, popcorn time. Its just gonna be interesting how this all plays out. I think JH shutting down season pass sales was a brilliant move on their part. One would have to assume the most profitable ticket they sell is a day pass. So, at least they have some money coming in, where as the season pass money has come in a while back. Not sure where Ikon falls in the profitability department for a resort, but i would imagine its pretty low. Its just interesting other than K, nobody is saying much about it. seems like discount lift tickets could be no more. Unless of course off peak days dont get filled to capacity......what ever that is.
  7. I feel like every resort is holding out on how to deal with Ikon passholders.......like nobody wants to be the first to announce they are getting the shaft in all of this.
  8. i read somewhere else recently that Elk didnt know if they were going to open this season or not. I forget exactly how it was phrased, but it was like if they couldnt operate 100%, they werent going to operate at all. Take that as you may, fact or fiction. Its probably true that none of the PA resorts have gotten specific guidelines from the state yet, and are assuming some things based on how some other businesses are operating. I see no reason why with proper guidelines, a ski resort would not be allowed to operate.
  9. Good time to be a season passholder at JH then. the article stated that anyone who has purchased would have unlimited access without making a reservation. I think its a strong play by the Mt. They have probably sold a bunch, and maybe the majority have already purchased. So on to selling day tickets, which in turn, should net them more $$ than more season pass sales. it will also help for people planning trips to JH, get tickets rather than be absorbed by season pass holders. Be interesting to see how the Ikon thing is handled. Locals are always so accommodatin to the Ikon. This is gonna be a fucked up year for everyone. I am glad the news hasnt been filled with headlines about resorts not opening at all. Yeah, some patrons might get screwed, maybe people will have to make reservations, but i feel all and all, skiers are a hearty bunch, i mean, who else gets up at the crack of dawn to go outside when its cold and snowing? The mountains will be getting screwed all season by this.
  10. Wayne is a nice place. Its close to MALVERN.
  11. I know lots of people on no medication that shouldnt have guns.
  12. I will never personally figure out why people want to live in cities for this reason. My Aunt lives in New York. Cant remember the last time i went there to see her. Hate it. cant park the car where she lives......all the obstacles like carrying groceries or packages from where you park to where you live. No thanks. I get it, some think its awesome, its just not for me. I will tell you that real estate in the Poconos is moving like Hot Cakes at Toasts house on a Sunday Morning. Moving way faster and for more money than ever before. Why? Everyone can draw their own conclusion, but you touched on the reason.
  13. Not moving. Fleeing.
  14. That does suck dude. A lot of wasted time and energy just to have her back virtual after a month. College should be experienced in person, but it sounds like the most boring situation ever, with everything around closed. It must be like living in a hotel room.
  15. Then there is this article from a week ago that says Sturgis was no problem. https://trendingpolitics.com/nope-turns-out-the-sturgis-biker-rally-was-no-covid-super-spreader-after-all/?fbclid=IwAR0ZsigPdAWQ3SWW0ECi3cF-Dn7D0okayTbpnN2T4-gFKfmI96CMC6pw4iw#utm_source=dtp&utm_medium=facebook Somewhere in between is the truth i guess. Not that i was ever big into watching or reading news ever, but who really knows what the truth is anymore? I could post article after article of some bullshit thats in the news that im passionate about, but really, how does one know its true?
  16. This is what i cant figure out. People are all uptight, and worried about the reservation thing at JFBB, but i dont know of one confirmed passholder. I'm pretty sure Barb is Epic. It should be really interesting as to see how the Ikon pass works, with a reservation system or whatever. Since Alterra doesnt own most of the resorts, i doubt the partner resorts would consider an Ikon pass holder to be a resort passholder. Seems like the key to skiing this year is to be a passholder. Honestly, it seems being Epic is the way to go if you plan on skiing a bunch of different resorts.......of course, thats what it looks like right now, but we know that some things look good on paper, but shit the bed in the real world. Take for instance, 170 RTM's.
  17. When did Blue mention anything about a reservation? are you planning on skiing jfbb?
  18. Let us know how skiing at any other resort works out for you guys. Last i checked, nobody was forced into buying a pass at Blue. Its pretty clear everywhere that passholders have the advantage over day pass ticket sales. cant not bring up the elephant in the room either, which is will snowmaking anywhere be the same as it was in years past? Loss of revenue for resorts has to tighten other things up.
  19. Im happy to hear that.
  20. Especially for Instructors at Moravian College, that like to ski Blue Mountain powder days on cheap ass Line ski's.
  21. Does all this sometimes in school, sometimes virtual, or all virtual spark the end of snow days?
  22. I read something earlier about the coasts staying warm, and the interior having a cold shot. Made it seem like that would be around for the week though. But anyways....enjoy!
  23. Cant blame Delco. We actually came in pretty low today.
  24. Add a second battery in series and it might do wheelies. Might wanna get her a helmet though. And then when she out grows it, do this.
  25. Everything will be cool after November. People at work keep telling me that. In other news, welcome to September! Meteorological summer is over. Cant wait till i can open the windows.
