i doubt i rode the luge ride Blue calls trees last year even once. Applaud the effort, but with our freeze thaw cycles, they are usually really firm, or dust on crust. Now, a nice heavy snow, then a freeze, then a few light snows on top of that, and there is a whole new playground. God, that was so long ago.
  3. i dont remember hearing anything about some high speed stuff at JF, but i dont have any "insider info" i will say this, frost is tons of fun when you can be off trail. When that stuff isnt available, you find out real quick how small the place really is.
  4. I was due for a cut when all this got fucked up, so its been clippers at home for me since then. It takes me a little while to do it, but i must do an ok job with it, nobody has said to me "dude, what the fuck is with your hair?" Its actually forcing me to cut it more often than i would.....i normally let it grow out a lot before conceding that i need to get it cut.
  5. It seems as though Vail has placed an opening date of every mountain as far as i can tell. not sure if they do that every year, but i dont remember them putting a date to either JFBB last year.
  6. Oh, well, i better clear out my calendar for that date. Cant predict the weather 3 days out, but JFBB is gonna open on December 11th. Its so dumb of them to put out any kind of a date. And dont get me wrong, it could be sooner, but just putting a date on it at this point is worthless. I guess its a slow instagram day.
  7. This is interesting news, since New York would not allow Nascar to race at Watkins Glen, with no fans. But the state run ski resort? Giddy up! Open for business as usual.
  8. Where did marco get off too?
  9. We have some cleaning company come in every month or so to spray some magic sauce on everything. Normally it would be a red flag to see someone spraying this completely harmless fog around the office with a mask on, but you know.......2020.
  10. Delco still has it in high gear. I thought we would pass Montgo months back, but it still looks like we will be able to be #2.
  11. I saw that too. Maybe they have “insider information”
  12. Magic mountains covid-19 outline. Interesting read. The one take away might be that just a quick last minute trip to VT, or anywhere will require more planning than before with a reservation system. https://magicmtn.com/alpine-update/?fbclid=IwAR1BNW1Hb6R1-QJD3vn972vO0vyGY0SnRBjuY77jWYZFPLwTVQL02eqsyqA
  13. This is true, but i guess there will be some guideline as far as how many people can occupy the mountain, or some type of fraction of lift capacity. I thought i read something about a western mountain where it would be based on lift capacity. So, i guess really the question that nobody can answer at this point, is how many people will be able to ski opening day, with just burma and main running, and yes, i know most of the time they run just the one, but in this case, i think they will have to run both. Could capacity (whatever that number is) be exceeded by passholders? Highly unlikely when the entire mountain is open. It would be interesting to know how many season passholders there are. Maybe they need to hold off opening until they can use the 6 as well? Lots of questions that cant really be answered right now.
  14. It should be interesting to see the guidelines. I did read they would be using historical data to determine season passholder numbers for the day. There is a possibility that season passholders could be limited on opening day, unless they hold off on opening until they have more than the usual terrain open.
  15. I wear a mask for like 75% of my day, its just not that hard. I mean, For most people i guess. i will gladly wear a mask for less crowded slopes and lift lines. To me it seems like a decent trade off. props to Blue for the pre season outline. We think this is all gonna suck for us, but its gonna suck for them worse.
  16. they sold off the Tannenbaum chairs last time they replaced a lift. They sold like hot cakes, literally....minutes. you really need to be in the right place at the right time to get a lift chair around here, i think. I would love to make some yard art out of a few.
  17. So thats kind of interesting news. I do feel how its written leaves them a little wiggle room on the day tickets. Not sure how they figure how many passholders would be there at any given time, but since the scanners work so well, i would assume they have some data as to what that figure might be.
  18. Lets do a rental house in VT!....we can all split it, i see no reason why that could possibly go sideways on us. I will get a hold of TTC6. I know he will be up for it!
  19. So technically an out of state resident would need to quarantine in VT for 14 days before skiing even 1 day? That sounds expensive.
  20. I dont get the quarantine in VT......is it people coming into VT, or people living in VT coming back from some other state? Seems confusing.
  21. he already texted me.....i get shotgun in the vette.
  22. Lets not forget, our favorite activity happens when its cold out. Lots and lots of people are allergic to the cold.
  23. Even if you take the test, and come up negative, all it means is you didnt have Covid up until the minute you took the test. Nothing stopping you from getting it 2 minutes after you take the test.
  24. Actually i think they might descend upon the tubing hills a little more. it takes no talent to get down the tubing hill. in fact, it probably requires more talent to get up the tubing hill.
  25. i have only done take out. i have not gone to a resaurant to eat.
