Any HOA can have a gate. I think at first it appeals to people, but that seems to wear off fast. Ask ridgeracer, his last house was in a gated development. Super big pain in the ass for friends (me) to get in. I dont have trash pickup at my place either. We have compactors in the development that you have to take your trash to. Believe it or not, this is a good thing to do in a community with alot of weekenders. It keeps the bears from going through everybodys trash. Another development nearby has trash pick up, and a huge bear problem. The place is a mess by the time the trash trucks get there monday morning. Everyone is supposed to have “bear proof” trash can enclosures which normally become kindling. So, im actually pretty cool with not having trash pickup, i know how much it costs me at home, and its about as much as my yearly HOA fee for the year. development stays clean, and bears dont really have a reason to keep coming around since nobody is feeding them. I usually just take my trash home with me, sometimes in the winter it gets deposited somewhere else on sunday mornings.

Same here. Although we do have a cleaning company once a week, we can manage to mess up the kitchen and the bathroom area pretty good. I am the only one that cleans anything up. We have a 20 something year old guy (like 27) as a managers assistant, that just moved out of mom and dads house, and you can tell he didnt do a god damn thing around their house in the way of cleaning up. I would also guarantee that his mom did his laundry for him as well. He makes me crazy, and he is in the top tier of people i stay away from as far as the Covid-19 thing. I think he is extremely irresponsible when it comes to the whole Covid thing, he is one of the people out testing the dining situation for everybody else. When i was home for however long it was, if i could do something work related from home, it really helped me pass the time. Time went remarkably slow when i didnt have anything to do......and when it was raining....gave new meaning to the word boring.

Get your mind out of the gutter. This is a family friendly site. Yeah, but why this year? The bushes have been there for years, and they were not buffet food last year when i moved in. Weird. Its kinda why i wasnt paying attention to exactly how bad they were fucking them up. They look like shit now, or as Toast has so nicely pointed out, a penis.

They made the decision to keep the clubhouse closed at my place in the Poconos, which kind of surprised me. Personally i think it was a great decision, but they are getting heat from it like crazy on FB. I cant believe how quick people are to wanting to go back into crowded places, and that place can get really crowded. Also, which is funny, is now people are asking for their membership fee back since the club isnt opening. $30. Bitchin about $30. Most of these people are second home owners. If that $30 is going to change your world so much, maybe reconsider not joining when it is open. People piss me off.

Deer have totally fucked up my arborvitaes, at my house in Delco. Fucked them up. I new i had deer stopping by, i saw them on my cameras. what i didnt see was exactly what they were doing to them. I had a new neighbor move in next to me, i saw her talking to her landscape guy, they were sort of pointing at my house, when he saw me, he asked if we had a deer problem around here. i told him i had seen deer frequently. Thats when he really pointed out what they had done to my bushes. No shit.....they look like this. its horrible.

people are slacking off at work here as well. Part of me says "you be you, do what you want", but all of me wants no contact with those people. I had to call one of my suppliers yesterday to tell her anybody that comes here needs to wear a mask to enter our shop, or talk to an employee. Outside on your own, im ok with not wearing a mask. I am also blown away that people (not wearing a mask) feel its totally cool to walk up to me (wearing a mask) and have a conversation. Do they really think im wearing a mask to protect myself from me? Point is, i cant believe people would enter your place with out a mask on if there is a sign. I would never do that to anyone. All of the places i have had to make contact with require masks, and/or do curbside pick up for parts. A lot of places still dont want outside people in their buildings, which works just fine for me, we call stuff in, and they put it outside for us. has actually sped up the whole going out to get parts deal. If i was in any kind of delivery type service, i would require my employees to wear masks. not wait for someone to tell them they have to wear a mask to be onsite.

True. just keep in mind i work with a guy that showed up wearing a saltyant ski mask thinking it made a good face covering. you know, the kind with an open nose hole, and a bunch of little holes over the mouth.

Since no degree is required to work in construction, yes, i work with a lot of idiots. i do work with a few smart people though. Not many, but not everyone i work with is stupid.

Pet removal? Maybe stop spending money at HD, and spend it at a sporting goods store? I have one of these, and for the money, its just a blast to shoot. its particularly good for "close in work". https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/harrington-richardson-pardner-pump-synthetic-shotgun-15remanfprdnrprtcspg/15remanfprdnrprtcspg

i will agree its odd for them to buy it as a stand alone deal. At this point, like Rummy mentioned, it is a rumor. But is there enough undeveloped land to build hotel, waterpark, etc? Kalahari West? I have always heard Elk and their neighbors like to fight, i cant imagine a hotel and waterpark will go over big with the neighbors. i went to kalahari once in April a few years ago for breakfast. i would have imagined that the middle of April would be sort of a off peak time......place was jammed. That place is killing it (for now) and from what i saw, its run like a well oiled machine.

Mowed today. No lines, just crop circles. Not sure why, but the grass was probably at least a foot tall in spots. I usually do my first cut on july 4th. Never this high in the past. I might have to cut 3 times this year.

This is exactly what was going through my mind. Not sure how much land there is, other than the ski area and parking lot. it would be a real shame to build a circus right on the ski area like camelsack did. But, at the same time, is building the circus in that area worth it? will there be a big enough draw? The ski and swim thing.....man thats a pretty long drive, but i guess some might see it as an option, but then why not just go to Camelsack? Other than the obvious, Kalahari is a machine, and Camelsack is a toy. Why not Montage? its a little closer, and one would assume that place could be had for the right offering. And for that matter, why not Camelsack? Maybe they have no interest in basically competing with themselves? Anyways, its ashame to see these smaller family type resorts being bought up by the big dogs, but at some point, with enough cash waved in your face, it might not be worth the BS that goes along with running a ski joint in this area.

I'm still gonna be laying low for a little while here. I really dont have a problem with that. I cant imagine that PA wont start going back up shortly. It would be wonderful if it didnt, but i just cant see how we will keep going down, when other states are starting to go back up.

Fun fact - mostly @RidgeRacer "Whiteface sits on more true vertical gain than all but 14 other ski resorts in North America and more than any resort east of the Rockies

Brighton is awesome. Just dont go too far skiers right off Great Western, you will end up in someones driveway with a long walk back to the lift. But you will have a great time right before you figure out exactly how far you are from the lift. Really fun twisty turny up and down trails at Brighton.

We must have 2 very different definitions of the word renegade.

Im running like a windows 7 computer. "in safe mode" I feel the same way. I'm not gonna be the test pilot on this one.

FIFY Hopefully people will see whats going on in other states, and make good decisions. I just see so many people ready to jump back into bars and restaurants.

Pretty fucking cool.

i would definitely imagine that sponsoring a race is above what we might be able to set up through go fund me. You would think it might be a little cheaper right now due to the whole no fans thing, but these sponsorships were set up long ago. i have never heard of Blu-emu, but i do know they sponsor a car, but it might not be a full sponsorship. those are crazy expensive, so it appears as though they have some loose cash to toss around, or sponsoring a race/car is really good advertising. You are right that there are alot of obscure companies sponsoring races, and then there is also Toyota which sponsors a few races. I do think at one point, Pocono Tourism or something sponsored Pocono, and you know there cant be a huge budget there for that stuff.

Yikes. Sorry to hear that Barb.
