  1. So we had 2 employees call out sick on the same day about 3 weeks ago, with the same symptoms. they were on the same crew, and always ride together in a truck. They were told to get tested and stay home until results were in. They were at home for 2 weeks before they got their results, so they were allowed to come back. We got at least one result back, and it was negative. In the meantime, the accountant ladies son tested positive for Covid-19. She has been working at home mostly, but was in maybe last tuesday or something. (i havent seen her in a long time). She has been tested, but still waiting on results, which again is taking at least 2 weeks to get back. So my boss has contracted some type of independent company to handle testing at our company, and supposedly results are 1-2 days. As a "test run" all of the office staff are getting tested on Friday, which based on the email, should include myself. Cant wait. I do believe my boss, and some other office staff in the other side of the building (theres kind of 2 seperate office spaces here, the old side, and the new side) have some concerns about being in contact with this person. I now see some more frequent mask wearing on the other side, that i havent seen before. And, one foreman that i really like, told someone this morning "this will all be gone after November". So, just so you are all aware, skiing will be just like it was last year.
  2. The one i told you to get the meatball sandwich at.
  3. Thats it right there. Just lay low for a little while and see how this shakes out. The accountant lady at work, her son has Covid-19. She has been working from home alot, and i havent seen her in a very long time, but it has re-sparked some awareness around work.
  4. Same here. I ordered some take out from my favorite pizza place in the Poconos a few weeks ago. Nobody working was wearing a mask. i may have been the only one there with a mask on. Dissapointed as they closed voluntarily for Covid-19, and its weird that they did, and now nobody wearing a mask making food. Wont be going back anytime soon.

Obviously the kalahari rumor was bigger than just being discussed here.
  6. no, not at all. Most people go put the gloves on, go touch a whole bunch of stuff, and think they have protected themselves. Then when they are done touching everything they just bought, and grabbing their car keys, and then the car door, and while they are at it, the steering wheel, and then they go take the gloves off, but they take them off like they are a pair of ski gloves. I watched a video of some lady showing how to dispose of the gloves properly (in a trash can) because they were all over the parking lot, and she clearly didnt know how to take them off, since she touched her skin with a gloved hand, trying to take the other glove off. Really it just makes people feel like they are protecting themselves, but if they really thought about it, they might not want to reach in their wallet to grab the credit card, with the gloves on they just touched everything with. If something was contaminated, then they just contaminated the wallet and CC.
  7. The glove wearing kind of cracks me up, although i do wear gloves to get gas. Put gloves on, pump gas, throw them away. People shopping in gloves. They touch everything. And then the car keys, and the door handle..... And how many people actually know how to take them off properly?
  8. Or scope Betty's at the Farmers Market?
  9. Happy to see PA didnt make the list. Sometimes you have to celebrate the small victories. But yeah. WTF. This shouldnt be that difficult.
  10. 58 lbs would be pretty normal. You still could bump it up if the pressure was really bringing you down that much.
  11. If you have some type of water softener or other filter, its probably installed after the hose. no real reason to filter water you will most likely be just putting back in the ground. So you probably have the most pressure there. a filter or softener will knock your pressure back some. You could turn up the pressure at the regulator on the pressure tank.
  12. Oh, i thought maybe your new Blueberry didnt have a calculator. But even yet, the 1080 gallons is flawed. That assumes its a totally open line, no restriction at the break or before the break, and if your well pump is still able to produce 3gpm.
  13. 1,080 gallons. Just cause u didnt know.
  14. Fireworks around me were not bad, but its weird what i can sleep through at times, so maybe i wasnt awake for the really good stuff. i read a lot of Facebook complaining in the Poconos that it was just off the charts bad this year.

Gave us something to talk about other than Covid 19.
  16. Actually i found some good info in it. Delco is #3 by total cases. But, its not #3 in cases for today. I take that as a small victory. WTF is going on in Allegheny that they are all fucked up? To beat out Philadelphia County they really gotta work at it....... Edit - Allegheny = Pittsburgh. Duh. Sort of makes a little sense, but why now?
  17. Back on topic, Philadelphia's green phase has be paused. I guess they stay in the yellow till Aug 1. Philadelphia is screwed.
  18. I just overheard my co-worker talking to someone about 2 people calling out sick today with a chest cough or something, looking to get them tested. Fortunately, i make no contact with these people. Hopefully, this situation will bring awareness to our employees, that masks are still a good thing.
  19. I think i have less fear of this now, but i fear the people that have no fear of it. I am stocking the shelves a little at home for round 2 of the stay at home order.
  20. Smittys Clam Bar FTW. But, they used to pack people in there like crazy before all this, and there was always a line to get in. Nice thing is, its BYOB, so drinking in the parking lot while waiting for your table is not only allowed, its encouraged. The food is wonderful even sober, and its worth the wait. If nothing else, just go get a bowl of the New England to go. Fabulous.
  21. This doesnt surprise me at all. I really dont think Beltzville attracts the smartest people, or at least to the beach. I think Mauch Chunk is limited to Carbon Co residents only, therefore making Beltzville even more attractive to the masses. . Its a shame the beach at Beltzville gets so shitted up. I took waverunners there at one point and had a great time. As long as you stayed away from the beach.
  22. First you would have to go to florida to get to an amusement park. My god, who in their right mind would consider going to florida at this point.
  23. I hope that the people that are running out to bars and restaurants around here are paying attention to whats going on in these other states. I mentioned to a few people yesterday, mainly to see their reaction, that there were the most recorded cases of Covid-19 yestersday. Most were very surprised, which tells me they sort of live in a bubble.
  24. Im never going to understand the thinking thats going on with people that wont wear a mask. Im not sure if they are just trying to be so cool like Fonzie, or they are just looking to fight with someone. Violates their rights? But wearing clothes, doesnt? The very few stores i have gone in had signs that you have to wear a mask. So, to get some goods at this store, one will have to do what the owner likes. i get it, and am on board with it. I make everybody that comes in my shop wear a mask. We sell a little bit of product, but its very far from being considered a high priority here. I havent had anyone argue with me when i have told them to wear a mask. I think people know we have no problem refusing to sell to them, our business just doesnt revolve around the few dollars we will make from their sale. Buckle up. This roller coaster is on its way up.
