#12? He had a candy bar named after him called the "Scrambler", but "#12" sounds better. Now I wanna rock the #12 on the slopes, but I don't wanna bite off your style.

Nice. You should change your screen name to "Minister of Defense".

Stratton Bus Trip leaving from NYC area. Think it's worth $95?
TT C6 replied to TT C6's topic in General Chat
YOu sure about dinner? There are a max of 2 beds in a room. How many people in a room are you using to come up with your figure? $100 a day TOTAL, or less, has been my benchmark as well. -
I'm not sure when I'm going or with who yet, but I wanted to hear from everyone else. I'm even considering a room if the people who I go with want to ride 2 days in a row. I will probably ride 8-4pm, and come back to Philly. But, although New Years in Philly is fun, it IS amateur night and can be more trouble than it's worth.

I haven;t checked priced in a long time, but we got those same prices mid-season in years past. US Open weekend last year, we spent $65 a head for our house and I got my own bed and room. There are deals to be had if people can put aside their differences and work together. -

Now the question I need to ask myself is this: What's worse? The 10 hour roundtrip drive to Vermont everyweekend or all the abuse I get on PASR trying to do PA trips. Sometime, I think I was better off doing VT every weekend. But, that girl and I aren't "friends" anymore. Now, we are "just friends". I heary ya, but I don't want to ride the mountains on those bus schedules. I like the jump lines at Mt Snow and JFBB. Most importantly, I like the cost and distance of JFBB much better. -

See. That's what I'm talking about! Even when you factor in your travel costs, it's a hell of a lot cheaper. I did EVERY bus trip offered one season. After doing the math, the last month of that season a friend and I did those same trips ourselves for $200 a weekend instead of $360. -

Thanks for posting Moe. A bunch of people form our group did that Killington trip. But, $360 for a bus ride, 2 lift tix, and a room shared with a stranger seemed a little high for me. DO you agree? When we do out own private trips to Vermont, we can usually do everything for $200 a person for the weekend (2 tix, room w/own bed & travel) and stay in the better hotel. -
I was e-mailed this trip info from a group I am a member of. Although I'm in Philly, I could take a train up to NYC to get the bus or just drive there and park at the bus pick up. What do you all think? Is it worth the $95? Or, is it better just to dirve up yourself? I prefer to carpool up with a few people and ride 2 days, but I posted this for some discussion. http://www.methodboardshop.com/bustrip/ Thanks for making it out to the 2nd bus trip. We got snowed on all day long. Most of us got some backcounty style powder riding. If you have any pictures, please share it with us. You can Email/Blog/Facebook. Click Here for Facebook Link. Next trip, will be the 3rd trip this season and the first time out for the New Year. Cheers, come join us on January 4th!!! ON 01-04-2009, we will be heading to Stratton MT for some good snow, some good times and some drinks. Space is limited so reserve your spot today. Please arrive by 5:00am. We will have breakfast waiting for you. Fresh Hot bagels, you know its good. Map and Directions When: Sunday, Jan 4th Meet Time: 5:00AM & Estimated Finish Time: 8:00PM Meetup Location: 1550 Lemoine Ave, Fort Lee, NJ 07024 Destination: Stratton MT, Vermont, 05360 Method Bus Ticket ONE Adult Lift Ticket & Round Trip Bus Ride Cost $95

Fair enough Schif. I respect what you are saying. I started another thread to get an idea of the demographics on here. Maybe I am wasting my time on PASR. I always hope new members will get on board with some of the things I want to do. But, maybe that isn't going to happen. Our Philly snowboard group has 10 members a year ago. Now we have 150. So, it wasn't pointless to keep some the faith in PASR for me. It was suggested that I start a master carpool thread and then just bump it with dates and times. The same thing was mentioned about a ski house. I have no problem doing that. I would post TR's, but I think other people are a lot better describing conditions than I am and PASRs are always posting TRs the days I ride. As far as gear, I haven't ridden enough different gear to have much to offer and again, I'm not that good at describing things. Burton has been GREAT with replacing broken bindings and boots, so I am loyal to them for now. But, I don't think I'd want to own Burton stuff without a great warranty support.

I'm not being nasty to you. I'm just pointing out the obvious facts. People criticize, but no one offers an alternative or suggestion. And yes, I expected more from a well educated attorney. And yes, I thought your response was less than friendly. No worries. I'm over it. Give it up Doug. She'll never go out with you. Before you "try" to respond by taking a shot, I'm not interested.
-
Yes. A few times. We have FORTY PEOPLE carpooling this weekend from Philly. So, it must make sense to some people. I don't know why some PASR's have such a problem and want to cause drama. What was the point in asking the question if it was rhetorical? Criticism with no positive suggestion or solution? Although I hoped for more from an attorney, I'm not surprised. It's more polite than "Miss Attorney".
-
OK counselor, how else are you going to make things happen unless you constantly post about it? What do you suggest? As far as the thread's topic, NOAA is calling for 46mph gusts. It might not be a bad idea to skip riding today. Point Forecast: Lake Harmony PA 41.05N 75.65W En Espa
-
If carpooling is "great" like you say, then quit busting my balls about it. You, and everyone else on here. My questions were obviously rhetorical and I think you knew that. I couldn't care less about your info. It was meant to make you put yourself in other people's shoes. Apparently, PASR is the only place I've come across where you are a tool for trying to get people together to ride.
-
2 dudes were really riding in Eagles throwbacks? I would be stoked if I saw someone rocking one on the slope. The only Eagles jersey I rock is a #12 M & N throwback. Maybe I should pick up a cheap replica for riding in? I never thought of that.
-
If you have to fight, you have already failed. 2 men should be able to look each other in the face come to a mutual understanding. If not, I don't need my friends to help me settle disagreements. My friends know how I feel. Whatever trouble I get myself into, I will get myself out of. With that said, 2 men have an issue, 2 men settle it. When 1 man is done, both are done.
-
Most cowards do.
-
You are suggesting ONE carpool thread and bumping it when dates and times are set? Then ONE seasonal rental thread per year? If that is what would make you guys happy, that's what I'll do. Although I don't like the way people address things on here, especially in public forums, I have no problem making some changes if it will make things easier/friendlier around here. Good. With that attitude and mouth, you're going to need it.
-
It's a shame. You were doing so well posting intelligently and expressing yourself like an adult. Well junior, sooner or later, you are going to find out what happens when you speak to an adult like that in the real world. I feel sorry for you. It is going to be a painful and expensive experience for you. The opening of your post was so excellent, that I'm not even going to address your ignorant closing.
-
That's understandable. I respect how you feel and what's important to you. What I can't understand is why you, and a few others, can't intelligently and politely respond like this on here all the time.
-
I've been out 8 times. I've driven 3 times. The other times I threw in $10 for gas and tolls. Do the math. Carpooling makes sense. Also, it commits you to going and to a time. Having other people to ride with and hang out with is a bonus too. Almost every time I ride my bike, I set a time and ride with other people. My bike is in the garage and I can afford the gas I burn. There are MANY reasons to do our hobbies in a group. You all know what they are.
-
What does that got to do with it? The point is I'm SICK and TIRED of people that live close to mountains starting shit about carpooling with people that live 2 hours away. Frankly, I'm tired of people starting shit for no reason.....period. If you live near mountain, good for you . You obviously won't carpool. If you are rich and don't car about money and mileage on your car, you won't carpool. If your parents pay the bills and they have a house at a resort, you won't split a room or a seasonal rental. Cool I get it. But then just SHUT THE F@CK UP AND MOVE ON without posting. Enough already.

Everyone knows White is dead and Cunningham lives in Vegas. I'm just not sure why he posted it.
