I've never been to Sno and I'm a Big Boulder pass holder. I'm thinking of coming up this weekend to ride and watch the competition. But, I'm hearing a lot of negatives about Sno's park (jumps) and I'm having some doubts.

NO DOUBT the US Open at Stratton is the biggest event on the East Coast. I'll never forget the year that the "Wu Tang Clan" was walking through the crowds trying to sell the free gear that Burton gave them for performing. Unfortunately, it's on Easter weekend this year and you'd have to duck out on your family to go. Can't do that to grandma, so I don't think I'm going to make it this year.

A lot of people are posting that Sno's jumps suck and it's got me worried because I was planning on heading up this weekend. They are having a HUGE comp this weekend with a slopestyle event. How BAD can the jumps really be ??????

I agree you do get more with honey than vinegar. But, many of those people say "thank you" to you face, then "screw you" to your back, and come right back and do the same thing. I especially love it when you take the time to quietly approach a parent and then they get ignorant with you, or worse, actually want to get tough. Sometimes I wish I had a paintball gun on the mountain. I actually saw a parent bloody a 15 year old kid's nose because he told the 40 year old parent that his kid shouldn't be standing on the knuckle. That "parent" spend some time in Vermont police custody, but I was never contacted so I don't know the outcome. Someone needs to come up with a solution and take action. I'm all for a park pass and having a mountain employee verify passes in order to enter the park. The mountains need to step up IMHO. What do you guys think about "authorizing" some of us to clip lift tickets? Us meaning park crew, season pass holders, park pass holders, anyone ????

I feel REALLY bad for that kid and I'm not being sarcastic. But, the parents are the ones to blame for all these kids hanging out in dangerous places. To be honest, there's also a little "natural selection" going on here as well. On a positive note, hopefully that kid will tell EVERYONE he knows about this and there will be a few less gapers in the park.

Nice work Melissa! Can we stop the India posts already? It's getting kinda old. Permaban next time ?????

Yep. Seemed like a cool guy. Close to the mountain and good food for the money is what I usually look for. My favorite food is mexican and asian. If you are ever in the Philadelphia area, some of the restaurants I recommend are Fogo de Chao, Capital Grill, Buddakan, Amada, PF Changs, Tequila's, and the Mexican Food Factory.

http://www.snowboard-revolution.com/news/2...r-Schedule.html I met Sno's park manager at the Buckman's Rail Jam yesterday and he convinced me to check out Sno for the Chevy Revolution Tour this weekend. I have a season's pass at Big Boulder and I never really go anywhere else other than BB and Vermont, but I thought the competition was a good reason to check out Sno. I've never been to Sno, so I'd appreciate any advice on lodging, restaurants, nightlife, etc. I don't know what the event schedule is yet, but I'd like to find out what's going on up there this weekend. I hope to meet some PASR's while in town.

If she was the one I saw at Kildares, she's a good looking girl. She was a lot cuter in person IMHO.

Was he #11? If so, he killed it. #11 had my vote before the judges announced it. I left Big Boulder and made it to Buckman's by 6pm. I'm glad I was able to catch the finals. Kildares afterwards was a good time too. Hoegaarden.....mmmmmmm.

I wanted to find out who was going to the Buckman's Rail Jam tomorrow and at what time. I was going to ride Boulder Saturday and stay through Sunday, but now I'm thinking about grabbing 1st chair Saturday and driving back to Buckman's for the Rail Jam. I called the shop and got a few times from them: 3pm = Qualifying heats begin 7pm = Finals 8:45 = Award Ceremony

No offense, but I'd rather spend my Saturday riding the mountain myself than watching other people throw down in a parking lot. If it was on a Friday night, I might have gone though.
-
I want to get there first thing Saturday morning. I'm even considering going up Friday and getting a room for the weekend. I did tell a few friends I would go out with them Friday night in Philly, so I'm not sure yet. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you want.

Thank you. Come again.

: Tell us how you REALLY feel. :

Not to step on your toes, but you never did make ONE single negative point about Boulder. In my opinon, JFBB is MUCH better than anything else in PA. I did Vermont again last weekend and I can't see making the drive North unless there is a big event worth attending.

BIG thanks for the review. I think Burton has a lifetime warranty on their bindings now. I will confirm that covers the highback when I talk to them again. Any negatives for "responsiveness" in your opinion? I keep hearing that my P1's and other bindings are softer and more "forgiving" with mistakes and that the CO2's might be too stiff. But, I didn't "feel" the pros or cons when I demo'd stiffer bindings as I recall. I'm leaning towards the CO2's at this point because they are a new model and I hear the p1's are being phased out.

I was planning on going up tonight, but Weather.com is calling for rain up till 9pm. I'm thinking of heading up Saturday morning and grabbing a room so I can ride Sunday too. If anyone want to meet up on the mountain or at Shenanigans, shoot me a PM.
