the new rail setup is sooo sick. finally no more 1 foot off the ground stuff. the candy cane landing needs to be pushed just a little bit closer though beause its hard to make without airing the first half of the rail. the hitching post is kind of lame though i dont really know what its supposed to be its like a pole laying on a mound of snow. it would be cooler with multiple lips instead of just the one.

new uprail requires mach ten speed. it would be better in a different place

If hes going to learn to snowboard it really depends on how he looks at it. i rode yesterday and snowboarded for 2 runs and fell a couple times and decided i was done, because i really didnt want to board in the first place. But if your feeling it its much easier, for example when i was stoked to snowboard i picked it up right away and even 50-50 a box. it all depends how you look at it.

ski everything switch.

ferreal pinnacle had way better selection then buckmans has there now.
-
the palmer has never been sticky for me accept after a rain when its obviously rusted. super low double wide at the bottom after the bleacher box is always sticky though.

nestors, buckmans, langhorne. mike and matts boardshop is up by big boulder.

if this is your first board i would go to a shop. you can go in and tell them exactly what your doing with it, your price range, and your weight and all that good stuff. they will pick out a couple things and tell you the differences. I know at nestors, on the ski side of things, the guys there know just about everything you could ever want to know about what your buying. i'd imagine they wouldnt hold a lower standard to the snowboard guys.

is it a hop up or a drop down?

not as bad as saturday. but it was fairly busy. there were mad noobs in the jumpline... lots of people were taking lessons.
-
today was amazing. i didnt have issues with speed i even over shot the first tubing and got the second one about mid way down the landing without trying super hard for speed. RAINBOW IS PERFECT. that is the perfect setup for a rainbow rail. lips off to the sides about mid way would be sick to sorta like disaster to the down part of it. flat down was sick, lip allowed for disasters and hitting it regular. up box is fun too. black bear really needed the face lift and that rail line was just the thing for it.

step downs can be the worst thing ever if theyre not built exactly right. so please, if you guys do build one make the landing steep and long. even boulder has flat landings on their stepdowns.

Buckman's Boulder Bash 2/20 - FINAL INFO
mollyskeez replied to johnnypowder's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
can i get like 5 dollars of last years bib deposit back because i have my bib its #35 prolly 1/10 condition it was cut up pretty gnarly. with some duct tape and glue it could be wearable. -
sick, usually the builds turn out a lot better when done during the day.

true that. a parent gets angry when their kid gets hit but theyre the one that allowed their 4 year old child ski across the landing of a jump. would they let their kid play in a highway? i dont think so. the parents are the ones that need to be watching out for the kids yet their the ones with no common sense. a few weeks ago i witnessed parents remove their two kids skis, proceed to let them slide down the landing of the first jump in tubing, then help them clip back in. all wihle in a blind spot.

that pole jam was out for like a day. i guess bamboo and logs work better.

cannon rail would be sick if it had a proper landing so you could send it pretty far. sorta like the up box we had for usasa last year. that thing was fun and shot you high/far with a nice steep landing. i really thing the key to uprails that bear isnt getting is to have the end of the rail before the knuckle sorta like the long uprail at the end of upper blackbear last year. this way theres more room to send it without risking over shooting the landing. also i wanna see more of a landing on the up handrail because that thing is super fun but def. has more potential.

park passes really are such a win win for riders and bear i dont know why we still dont have them. they setup a little shed or something, get the actuall passes printed and just have the smartstyle video on loop while people are filling out wavers. 10 bucks for a season park pass or 5 for the day or something... they would easily make the money back, not to mention less fights/accidents.
-
never park where the parking attendent tells you too. there have been so many days where they were parking in the top lot and there were spots on the pavement.
-
get park passes. small children pizza wedging across a landing is a huge safety hazard to them and whoever is hitting a jump. your insurance company would love you, as would the local park riders who deal with mad gapers every weekend. im feelin a candy cane style kink rail with supports so its higher off the ground then the candycane we have now.
-
superman box = finally setup sick like last year. its way better with a gap on and doesnt get rutted as quick. the candycane is sick as ever. the lip on the first jump in cascade needs to be repushed after all the snow its got a super awkward transition.
-
today was prolly some of the best conditions bear has ever had... ever. the 2ft deep powder was amazing in the trees and the park was pretty prime considering all the excess snow they had to groom out, and it was super sunny and not super cold. the first jump in cascade and the bmx jumps were hittable but i spun the first jump in cascade and just straight sunk into the lip... which wasnt fun. Mark, how successful is the Telescope photo thing or whatever?

every thursday?
