Had my first encounter with the infamous Blue Ski Patrol today. Shortly after the lazy mile was opened, I was following a friend who took me through some trees which was a bad idea to begin with. After getting out I crossed the trail and did a 180 on the side of of the trail. I was then pulled over by Greg(I think) who proceeded to tell me how I'm not supposed to be in the trees and that I should do 180's in the park. Followed by questioning my smart style and concluding with a speech how he wasnt being a dick because if he was he would have 'wrote me a ticket'. Aside from that I had a pretty awesome day of riding the park.

Hopefully we actually get some snow to let us get in the trees this year. I think I went in once last year and paid the price.

I think you could save a couple bucks buying your tickets at Buckmans. I know they used to have some deals, havent looked into it this year though so you might want to call first.

So you couldn't break them, but what about actually using them? They look pretty sweet, but I'd like to know how quickly they actually change. I used to have color change lenses back in the day for my glasses and they were the worst. Once they darkened up they would take forever to turn back clear. That was several years ago though, I would hope the technology is a little better these days.

First great day for me. Got there around 1130 and split up my time pretty evenly on all open terrain until around 5. Conditions were great for this time, and having a decent amount of the mt. to play on was money.

How does getting tickets at Canyon Sports go down? Can I get a multi day pass there, or is it just a they get so many tickets per day type thing? I'm going to get 4 days of riding and was planning on just sticking to Snowbird since everything I've heard about it says its huge and diverse. Are solitude/brighton places I should really consider giving some attention, or will Snowbird keep me plenty busy for 4 days?

I clicked that damn button every day last year and never won. A buddy did though so it definitely works. Hope I dont get burned again this year.

BCC and LCC stand for what? Never been to Utah... Only reason I was planning on taking the UTA was to cut down on car rental costs. But as it seems that's not the most time efficient option and I may have more people joining me now, a car might just have to be in the mix. Hows the nightlife, is there any?

Looking into a SLC trip to Snowbird mid Jan. Anyone ever been and care to give me some recommendations on where to stay? Additionally, I've read the UTA goes to Snowbird, is that correct? I didnt see anything on their site. Cost?

I've been riding Salomon F-20 for the last two years. Excellent boot, and I'm a fan of their lacing system. Its quick, but still gives you the ability to tighten certain spots.

Good stuff, sounds like I'll be picking some up then. 270 on, bs, 270 off down rail here I come...I'll keep dreaming.

Anyone wear Crash Pads, or something of that nature? I was planning on stepping up my rail game this year, and thought a little protection might be nice. Comfortable/restricting/opinions?
