Big Fan here. I have two pairs of last years athletic pros, and just got a pair of MFM's off WM. I had one problem with holes in the heelcup where the highback attaches, but as already mentioned they have an awesome warranty. So they sent me out a replacement no problem.

Could be a temporary thing. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape over it yet.

any pics of the salomon board/bindings?

He's a bigger guy, I think a 154 would be a little small for him. That could work, I'll let him know and see what he thinks. But that might just be right in his price point. Prices please.

I'm trying to find a used board/bindings for a friend who is just getting started. Something in the 157-162 range would be good. Anyone got something lying around?

Jay Peak is awesome. Good runs and excellent trees. Certainly worth checking out. Problem is it can get cold. Real cold. Last year I went end of the season, and it was pretty much perfect. If your willing to wait, they have these slope side condos which during the regular season cost some ungodly amount of money, but the day late season starts they get dramatically reduced to about the price of a regular motel room. I had an nice long weekend of jumping off my balcony right onto the slopes.

I hear big boulder has some pretty long runs

That was kinda my point. 1 to 1 sucks. I used to go to Canada a couple times a year when I was in high school, and it was always something like 1.60/1.50 for $1 american. It was awesome. I would be pretty sad to go and get even money.
-
Whistler sounds like it would be an awesome idea, but with the weak American dollar this might not be the time to go. Then again, its your honeymoon, your supposed to spend crazy money...go for it.

That setup is pretty cool. But honestly the setup in the plaza this year at times wasnt that far off from it.
-
It was certainly fun to watch. I however took the lil bitch route. Maybe next year.

national weather service says 47 and raining for sunday. I wouldn't exactly consider that nice. If things change though, I'll certainly try to make it out.

Got out to Belleayre over the weekend, had a pretty good time. Icy morning on Saturday to start, but by lunch the sun started to do its thing and things softened up a good bit. Mashed Potatoes by the end of the day made for some enjoyable runs. For the most part the mt is looking pretty good. All the trails were open for the most part with the exception of some closings for a race which I definitely didn't see. Glades are more or less not an option. Most severely laking in coverage, so that was a bummer. Sunday was more of the same, some good spring riding.

fyi, I found the motel I stayed at before. Northland motel in Fleischmanns. $65/night w/ complimentary drink! Its certainly not a classy joint, but for a place to crash and a drink, it'll do.
-
Last year I stayed at some motel that had a bar. Not sure where it was though. It wasn't all that exciting, but it was a place to get a drink at least.
-
I'm planning on heading up to Belleayre for the weekend, where should I stay? Any not too expensive hotels/motels with a bar near by in the area that anyone recommends?
-
Dug a little deeper and it says 'any ski resort in North America'. So I guess I should be good. I thought it might just be a VT thing.

On their site they have a discount listed for other mountain passholders. Anyone from PA ever get it? Just wondering if my JFBB pass could do some good after this weekend.

I rode BB last night and it was quite enjoyable. All the runs were a bit icy but still very managable and fun. I hit the bunny elbow/schauss a couple times. Went down Boulder park a couple times. I only hit the first jump a couple times. But for only the second or third time this year I actually saw some kids hitting the second and third jump and killing them. Good stuff. Headed over to Love park. No rails there for me, but both jumps were in good condition and fun to hit. Then to Freedom. My usual line is the first flat rail on the left, wide rail on the ride, and the last lil jump. Overall had a great time.

Any one been to boulder this week? Just wondering how its holding up. I saw the trip reports from JF and they sound excellent, but nothing from BB. I was thinking about heading up tonight or tomorrow, but being that its warm in the day and below freezing at night I figured it would just be an icy mess.

What other mts have this?

I currently rocking the T9 Athletic Pro, which can also be had for around $170. Couldn't be happier, excellent product. I was previously using some Flow NXT-AT, and after that whole experience, I really wouldn't recomment Flow to anyone.

I have the G9. Good helmet. Has saved my bean several times. Like was already said, the differences are going to be in features, not really protection. If you the helmet you found online is made by a legitimate manufacturer ie burton, RED, Boeri, it should be fine. You just really want to make sure it fits properly.
