Rumor has it that there may be a Johnny Style sighting at Jack Frost tomorrow. I heard he skied out the glades at Chadds Peak and wanted to test his stuff on the glades of Jack Frost.

The patroler was timid at best and eventually peeled off when she realized what she got herself into. The guy who skied the marquee line didn't even notice the patroler behind him. I saw redcoats skiing on the edges of trails all morning.

Conditions were really nice this morning while it was snowing. I would imagine they are somewhat wet now. The turnpike wasn't bad but at the same time I witnessed an accident that almost took me down with it. I think I am going to make a promise. Even on a powder day, Blue just isn't worth it for the risk of driving up in the snow. I agree with TTC6. There were lots of people flying down the marquee lines today. I saw a patroler attempt to chase somebody ala Aspen Extreme but they gave up when they realized they might have to actually ski the line. The snow was not like yesterday's glue. Of course I waxed the skis last night. This may have been my last day at Blue for the year.

It's ten of seven and it doesn't look like we got much snow last night. Are people still heading up?

Leaving in about ten minutes. I'll be lucky to get there by Nine-ish.

Too late for this year but next year could be interesting. Is this a team competition or can individuals sign up?

This may sound real dumb, like did you put gas in the car before you tried to start it kind of dumb, but are the Booster straps too tight? I ski in the Nordica Beast and I have the same problem. It is always because I cranked the Booster strap down too hard and it is cutting off the blood flow into my foot. Loosening up the strap helps me every time. I used to think I had to crank my buckles down to the max to get the performance I needed. Wrong. I ski in a much looser boot now and it makes all the difference.

Awesome! Looks great. Are you staying in town? Also, any advantage to parking at Two Creeks? I am a rodeo lot guy myself or I just park at a private home at Campground. Two creeks looks like it has the advantage of not having to wait for the bus. Those pictures are real hard to digest knowing that I will be at Blue tomorrow.

Nice pics. I think I read somewhere that there is going to be a bump clinic at Blue. Last Saturday of Feb perhaps? Somebody has to find the link, I just made a cursory scan when I read it. It would be cool to do.

Dachstein V4s circa 1984-85. Needless to say, Dachstein is not in business anymore. He's like Roller Girl from the movie Boogie Nights/or Tootie from the Facts of Life season 1, the boots never come off, even in the offseason.

I use an old Nordica Beast that is a 110-120 flex and has a huge toebox. Plus it comes with the Booster strap pre-installed. The equivalent in today's market would be the Nordica Speedmachine line. I can stay in the Beasts all day long and they keep me plenty warm. AJeff goes the race boot route and has his modified to high hell. If my boots were a car they would be a Nissan Maxima, whereas Jeff's would be a BMW M3. I never have to fuss with mine, he has to maintain his. Different strokes for different folks.

I caught him pointing out some of the secret lines through the glades. I bet they are going to be nice today.

Ahhhhh good times. Thanks for the memories. Back in the 1980s when we used to get snow storms like this all winter long, Chadds Peak would be rockin' after school. We combined the West Chester East and Henderson High Schools to form the West Chester ski team. We would compete against all the other schools in the area on the brand new "break away" gate slalom courses. 1984-88. The top two junior racers in PA skied in this league so it was legit competition. Both of those guys skied out of the Jack Frost race program. Another of the top guys kicks it in Vail now. Up until last year my most days spent skiing were back when I used to race on the bump. Good times. So Core, did you ever ski Chadds Peak? If you have to leave at 6:30 a.m. what time do I have to leave? 4:30 a.m.? What time is this storm supposed to roll through? And thanks to AJeff, my snow tires are now rotating in the proper direction. Bring on the snow.
