Matchstick Productions is going to be filming at Snowmass soon. Here is a picture of the kicker they are building over on Sneakys. It's not the first time they have filmed on that run but I forget which film it is in (Claim or Push maybe?)

Howie was super stoked to meet me. He was shocked that I spent my whole day with him and couldn't wait to get back to his son to tell him all the cool things we did. I told him that we were skiing places that you probably shouldn't go alone so I enjoyed having a partner for the day.,

I like the TR. RR looks good on Risk It.

For those of you still following this thread on page nine, here is a mini TR. Yesterday was quite the day. As soon as Jeff left it started snowing and didn't stop until one p.m. yesterday when the sun came out. There was six inches reported but it seemed much deeper in Hanging Valley. At one point I was about to get on the Sheer Bliss lift alone, when some guy with a wicked snowbeard and a brand new pair of Volkl Gotamas rode with me. He is a Stowe season passholder and is visiting his Son who lives in Aspen now. He had never been to Snowmass before (his kid was working that day), and he asked if I could show him the goods. I obliged and proceeded to show him some of my favorite shots into Hanging Valley. As a Stowe local he obviously could deliver and pushed me pretty hard. Our first run was down the Hanging Valley headwall. We dropped in and saw somebody with their skis crossed in the snow, with a crowd gathered around. I skied down and asked if anybody had a phone. Nobody did, so I called 911, asked for the Snowmass ski patrol, and told them exactly where he was, using my "local" knowledge of the area. I told them he was, "skiers right of West One." The patrol knew exactly what I was talking about. West One is a cliff band that is not on any map. Yeah, local knowledge. By the way, nobody thanked me, but I wasn't looking for any acknowledgment, just that he get some help. My good deed of the day was complete. Howie (the Stowe local) and I rode up the lift with some guy from Telluride. He is Tom Cruise's neighbor and told us that Tom is a wild and crazy guy in real life. I could have told him that by watching the Oprah, and Scientology stuff. He then proceeded to call Sams Smokehouse (an on mountain BBQ restaurant) and make reservations. I don't think you can make reservations there but he was persistent and acting like a D-Bag to the person on the other end of the phone. I was sitting between Howie and Telluride guy and realized that I would much rather be a soulful person like Howie, than a Douche like Telluride-guy. Howie and I tracked out Hanging Valley and then I had to call it a day to get back to my secret parking spot on the other side of the mountain. Wow, what a day. I was so tired that I had to wait until today to post the TR. Here is a picture of the area we skied. It looked just like this photo, although I will admit that this is a shot taken when Jeff and Jay were here. I am now posting up this TR waiting for the rest of my family to arrive in the Roaring Fork Valley. Rumor has it that we are in for a four day storm starting tomorrow.

Thanks to Jeff and Jay for skiing with me while in Aspen. I had a real good time. See you on the slopes next year.

That's cool, no worries here. But since you asked, here is one of the female competitors.

I promised some photos from the Freeride contest. Here are two different sequences. Yeah, Snowmass is just for groomers. I think the following sequence is from the winner. He made $1900. That wouldn't even cover his medical expenses if he got carted off.

Looking good.

I've been silent hoping that Jeff or Jay would post some TRs, until then, these pictures will have to suffice.

Today was a pleasant surprise for sure. If it weren't for the gated terrain, today would have been pretty lousy. As it turned out, today was awesome as you can tell from the photos. They held the Colorado Freeride Championships today at Snowmass. Perhaps later I can post some of the photos they took of the comp.

Nice TR. Jr does look tall. You can easily tell that Mrs. Snowbunski is a Blue Mt. racer. She has the form they teach. I miss Greek Peak. I didn't know you were going to Steamboat next week. I'll contact you offline.

You better get delayed. I still have 600 miles to go. With perfect weather and traffic, that is still an eight hour drive. Send me your original itinerary again via FB. I tried looking for it, but the new way they organize messages has me all confused.

Nice TR. I wouldn't believe you without the pictures, but wow! is that Blue?

I'm in my room at the Best Western Salina, KS. Two days down. One to go.

I highly recommend stopping in for a few turns. I had some business in Pittsburgh a few years ago and always brought my skis. The resort is right off the turnpike and worth the time and effort.

My Sister is at Squaw for the weekend. Jonny Moseley was on her plane and she got a few photos with him.

Great photos, nice to have the blue sky in the background.

If they "upped" the criteria to 1985 rather than 1975 I would have been there.
-
Conditions look real nice.
-
Yes, Yes Yes! I concur.

Congratulations on making the podium Jeff, there is lots of talent at the top.,

That guy is ripping. Look at that pitch. X-games is around the corner. There should be some pros in town practicing on Snowmass.

This weekend looks like lots of skiing and football for me. I just don't understand how Blue managed to mess up the grooming so badly. Has it even been above freezing up there in a week?

Hi all, I'm back from a decent morning session at Blue. I got off the Northeast Extension to be greeted by bumper to bumper traffic on 22. I kicked myself for not taking the alternate directions that the fine folks on this forum provided to me before. Therefore, I resigned myself to traffic. Suddenly, a BMW with Jersey plates and two snowboards on the rack too off for 309 N. I made a quick decision to follow this guy and hope he knew what he was doing. After trying to catch up with him, he took me all the way to the bottom lot of Blue. Thanks. It was Buckman's Demo Day and there were at least six manufacturers' reps present. I didn't see anything for me to demo but I spoke to a few people on the lifts that were enjoying their demos. The cookies on Main Street were so bad that I never even thought about going back to that side of the mountain. Some of the words I overhead on the lift today were as follows: ice cubes, golf balls, dipping dots. I don't know how Blue managed to mess up the grooming this morning but they did. I caught up with Nastar Glen today and we skied Razors. He left to go to work and I finished up the morning doing laps on Razors until the crowds started to fill in.
