  1. Great videos. I especially love that photo with the four mountains showing off their trails. That picture wouldn't look half as good in a few weeks when there is more snow, as it does now. You have the brown valley in Autumn giving way to the snow on the trails, giving way to the mountains in the background. I am sitting here in my office on a Saturday preparing a case and I am very jealous.
  2. I want to race; that's one of the many considerations mulling around in my head right now.
  3. LOL! I am thinking about it, but I found myself in the situation last year where I was literally counting down the days until I had paid off my pass. There are plenty of good midweek options, but you are correct, if I want to ski on the weekend mornings, those $50 tickets for two and a half hours of skiing are going to hurt.
  4. Sorry, that story was from the previous year when you told me to buy early. I'm still trying to figure out what is going on this year so I didn't buy the early-bird.
  5. This is going to be a weird year. I'm still trying to figure out my options. As of today, no pass, but who knows about tomorrow.
  6. One also gets a voucher for Jack Frost/Big Boulder with a movie ticket purchase. Not a bad deal at all. http://www.skimovie.com/index.php/individual-tour-dates/philadelphia-pa/
  7. Yuck.
  8. While these gates are awesome at world class resorts, I just don't know how well they will fare against the weekend crowds at Blue. The previous comments pretty much nailed my thoughts.
  9. Yes, somebody has to drive.
  10. I purchased some Weather Tech Floor Mats for my black snow panther, but they are nothing like yours. I should have purchased those floor liners like you did; total coverage. My mats just sit on top of the factory mats. My wife was driving the car one day and the mat slipped forward while she was depressing the clutch so that when she released the clutch, the mat wouldn't let it return. She then sat there on the highway gunning the engine but not moving.

  12. Nice picture mbike-ski. GSS; you need to send an email to the people at Buckman's to get on the guest list for the 8 p.m. signing. The email address is on the Buckman's site for the event.
  13. SexKitten BobLikesCats AtomicSkier GrilledCheeseSandwich AngryHugo Johnny Style I plan on attending the VIP autograph session.
  14. We have to stop talking about Aspen; it makes me want to pack up the car and hit the road. You can go to just about any Aspen eatery and Nazareth Skier Jay can give you the 411 on what to eat. One of these days we will have to get you to slum it at the Hickory House.
  15. You ride and don't ski, correct? If so, skip Ajax, it won't be any fun for you and will ride "very small." There is a reason that Ajax was one of the last mountains in the U.S. to allow boarders, and it is not because of Aspen's "elitism," well maybe a little bit. I would suggest going to Aspen Highlands and you can ride down the bowl. It's a great experience. Of course Buttermilk is just one giant terrain park, you might like it there too.
  16. 2011 Freeskier Magazine resort rankings: 1. Whistler Blackcomb 2. Aspen/Snowmass 3. Squaw Valley 4. Jackson Hole 5. Mammoth Mtn. 6. Alta/Snowbird 7. Breckenridge 8. Telluride 9. Mt. Baker 10. Big Sky Both Jack Frost/Big Boulder and Seven Springs made their list of "MidWest" resorts. Aspen/Snowmass finished: 1st for Best Overall Terrain Parks 2nd for Best Pipe 3rd for Best Jump Line 4th for Best Rail Set Up 4th for Best Overall Flow 2nd for Best for Progession My guess is that most of the people on this board are of the "Freeskier" demographic.
  17. I like that water jump. I like how somebody put a feature in that mess of a glacier.
  18. I vote for 10/15 in KOP mainly due to the Buckman's tie-in. It seems like a nice way to do two skiing related things.
  19. I'm stoked. I just purchased my 2010-2011 season pass to Aspen/Snowmass! Bring it on.
  20. This thing has PASR night written all over it. Heck, they are going over to the Fox & Hound at nine to drink. Those are some pretty big names on the list. This one should be fun.

The final stunt in the trailer looks like a stunt they did in the movie Hot Dog.

Yeah, the movie theater where they made the film is in Phoenixville and the diner is in Downingtown. Oh, you mean some other Blob? Like this one? Check out the trailer to Jackass 3. At one minute in they do something called "Duck Hunting" with a Blob. F'in hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFK6Ih8KOis
  23. Those planks are a pain to turn. The Legend Pros are 100% work, you can never let your foot off of the gas for a moment. I still get comments on the shuttle bus or in lift lines when I show up with my Legend Pros. There is a Cult based around this ski. I'm glad I'm in it. I think they also shortened the turning radius of the newer Legend Pro down to around 30 or so. I'm not sure what the radius on mine are. I know Jeremy Nobis designed the skis to be like Super G racing skis meant for powder. I would think the Mantra is too much ski for Blue but then again Jeff isn't your typical Blue Mt. skier. He lays 'em over like very few of us can.
  24. Nice thread bump. It made me feel good again. I head back to Aspen this Saturday for a week. I'll be able to still use my season pass to ride up the gondola at Ajax. Of course, it isn't the same coming down.
