  1. I would if I had all the pics. I wasn't as disciplined in remembering to look at Bear's webcam as I should have been and thus I have huge month long gaps. Sucks since it was a good idea... I wondered why nobody did it and now I think I know.
  2. Bear hosts the 2009 X-Games... I can see it already... Personally I think Bear needs to get the pipe they already have into top notch condition at least more than half the time its actually open. Walk before you run.
  3. Thursday is possible but Friday seems more likely, or maybe saturday.

    BC Rail Jam

I just find it funny that we're arguing in a thread that should by rights have died when the rail jam did.
  5. Hopefully the higher elevations stay just a couple degrees colder. I know where I am we have mostly freezing rain, but in the valley its all rain. Just so long as they keep what they have down now.
  6. Too bad they can't make snow tonight but at least they're not really losing any snowpack. I am a bit troubled by the amount of mud I saw on the webcam. I don't see how the ground could be thawing out but maybe they got rain or something.
  7. Yes but only because of their size. The same issue comes into play with BB too. They have alot of snowmaking power on a small amount of acreage. If they get a good cold spell they can easily be 100% open before anyone else.
  8. They should just consider Boulder a part of upstate New York or something. I'd love to see a bigger mountain do what BB does but even with that much snowmaking power its not possible climatologically speaking. Blue has to deal with different temps at the base and peak, Bear is too far south, and Camelback is... well, Camelback.
  9. Wednesday is really cutting it I think. Thursday or Friday seem likely to me.
  10. Wasnt that going down on wednesday?
  11. They can do thursday I think. I don't remember Bear opening any earlier than the 6th, is this a first for Bear/Doe?
  12. Do you think its possible they'll try opening a day or two early with limited terrain? Like last year, just the stuff directly accessible by the main quad. Also something I'm in the dark about is how long it takes to set up the park for opening. Anyone know?

oh and I read Nick's post on the previous page...... WHAT THE HELL MAN????? BEAR HAS SPENT MILLIONS OF DOLLARS ON THE MOUNTAIN AND THE PARK AND YOU'RE STILL NOT SATISFIED???????????? Isn't it enough that they're blowing snow at every possible oppurtunity to open with the rest of them? Blue is colder and they might still open ahead of the game. What more could you want here?

Why the f*ck can't we just go out and have fun anymore? What the hell happened that made everyone so damned picky and elitist about where they ride and what they ride? Be happy that we can even ride in an area with 30 inches of natural snowfall a year.
  15. They're blowing on all trails.
  16. wierd
  17. Bear is blowing snow now.
  18. The ground is frozen so anything they make will pile up fast. That and anything that falls out of the sky tomorrow is going to freeze on contact, so any rain will be in the form of freezing rain.
  19. The humidity's gonna be high as this storm moves in. Should be cold enough that they can blow regardless though.
  20. 1-3 inches of snow then a coating of ice is still better than rain. The weather pattern now is dominated by short wave systems or individual storm systems. We get a short period of very cold dry weather behind storms. Then when a storm comes through it briefly thaws everything out and brings in moisture. Thankfully the warm ups aren't as devestating as last years, and we're getting real cold air behind storms instead of warm pacific air. The good and bad thing about these short wave type patterns is that they are very unpredictable. Just look at the temperature fluctuations on accuweather over a week long period. This is good because it leaves open lots of possibilities for what could happen. Bad because you are less certain about what will happen, which can be a good thing if long term conditions show a warming trend.
  21. Hoping this next storm stays all snow in the higher elevations. The temp will be right around freezing so hopefully that little bit of elevation makes a difference.
  22. Looks like they'll make the opening projected by Mark. Before Dec 7th... I don't remember Bear ever opening before that.
  23. What if you have a dependent season pass? Do you still get the discount?
  24. If you put in a 6 seater on a hill like bear creek you might as well just put in a giant conveyor belt....
  25. mo happy right here
