I really think you make up shit as you go. It's out performing every casino in the state. They do almost twice the volume the next best performing casino does. And because of the super slow roll out of NY casinos, the Sands has another 5+ years of a captive-ish market from NJ/NY, so hopefully the trend of good performance continues.

yes...http://www.trutv.com/shows/ski_patrol/index.html

With NY casinos a reality, I doubt anyone is rushing to open up another casino in PA.

Agreed. As for RR's comments about Blue, I agree, they've fixed a lot of the small annoying problems. They've even fixed their rude ski patrollers
-
and you were the oldest person doing tricks for the season, congrats!

hah...toast and i both have done that on opening day. sucks when you're all ready and then....no poles.

I think most/all shops around here work the same way, excluding the cost of foot beds.
-
Because it'd require a ton of work to get it to work. By "fit in" I meant he soaked the boot in 200F water, laced up the liner, opened the boot wide enough for me to step right in, and then buckled it up. I couldn't even slide my foot into the 26.5 when it was cold. If I was only using the boots for racing, then maybe, but I want to be able to ride the lift without unbuckling every lift ride, or having my right foot start losing circulation 1/2 way down the Hobacks. The old boots never bothered me in the short runs at Blue, but skiing runs longer than 2 minutes, definitely. FWIW, my left foot is a 27.5 and the right is somewhere between a 26.5 and 27.5. 27.5 by no means is a big boot for me.
-
It's *similar* to the style Nestor's used to make. Similar construction, different materials. By padding, I mean the "padding" that is built into the liner.
-
The biggest change for me was the removal of *all* the padding above my instep. Huge difference and instantly relieved the hot spot / blood flow issues there. The foot bed materials are all his own (not manufacturer by him, but spec'd by him). He makes the footbeds in his shop, tho.

My old boots are Lange RS130s in a 27.5 My new boots are Lange RS130s in a 27.5. I *was* thinking about going down to an RS140 in a 26.5, but for an every day boot, the 27.5 was the boot. If there actually were 27.0 shells, that'd be perfect for me. zzslope....Billy has his own shop (PM me if you want his info). He's a pedorthist and can do some crazy things to boots and liners. Within 5 minutes of knowing which boots I was going with, he was cutting stitching and ripping out padding. Even before he started grinding, my brand new boots were more comfortable than my old boots with 180 days on them. It certainly is not a cheap process, but I'm sick of the issues. My first visit was 2 hours of medical history, bunch of questions of about skiing, poking and prodding my foot, etc and eventually a foot bed mold. My second visit was 3 hours of boot fitting and liner modifications. Crazy stuff.

Justo is pretty much spot on. Footbeds are a must...will make a dramatic difference in performance and skiing comfort. Crazy to spend $500 on boots, and not spend the $100 on the footbeds.
-
like Doug said, I don't have them yet. I had my second appt with Billy yesterday afternoon. I brought two different boots (RS140 26.5 and RS130 27.5)...he said the 26.5 would be perfect for a race only boot, but for a daily boot, the 27.5 is definitely the way to go. He had the liner ripped apart, padding removed, boot all marked up for grind spots. we got the alignment measurements, and the boots definitely need canting. I've never realized how poorly timed my turns were because of poor alignment. They'll be ready end of next week after he sews everything, does the sole planing and grinding. The goal is to ski them for a day or two and go back to resolve and additional hot spots.

About 185ft according to Google Earf. We drove by the base of Blue last night...it looks like Jackson Hole in comparison. -
We have Adams Cable in the Poconos, and I'll take their internet over Service Electric's any day. Unfortunately, Verizon has said it's not going to expand FiOS into the LV
-
I've always had Service Electric. Why not RCN? Because when Flyers are on Comcast SportsNet, the Phillies are on the Comcast channel, which RCN doesn't carry.

None.

We skied 12 runs...all uninterrupted, skiing right onto the lift. Was a great afternoon on the snow. Even had a parking lot beer afterwards with our friend the deer who was hanging out in the parking lot with us. JADIP -

considering the first appt available when i scheduled it 4 weeks ago was this friday, I'd say yes, I can't ski on Friday.
