I won't be able to make a Friday opening unfortunately (boot fitting appt), but it would be nice to ski this weekend -
It looked like there was some snow on the ground in western PA on my flight home this afternoon...JADIP

just booked Tahoe flights...stoked to ski new places. -
I heard his tuning shop is opening up in the next few weeks. Also, I heard he has some skis for you.

Part of it for me is my limited ankle flexibility...I need a stiff boot to prevent bottoming out. Justo has incredibly flexible ankles and can benefit from a wide range of flex. I'd prefer just to be locked in because I can't do much better than that anyway. I've been working on the flexibility, and my ankle is finally starting to move like a normal ankle should, but it's painful and who knows how great it'll be by ski season.

heh...the RS140s are the same shell as the RS130...not any stiffer. Just a different strap and a lace up liner.

You're just a freak of nature.

No such thing as a "Lange foot" anymore...it isn't 2005. *Most* of Lange's boots are 100mm, and the softer stuff is even 102mm. Even their race stuff is available in 100 (but normally 97). I just made a purchase that makes me nervous. I was in a RS130 27.5 and am going to go down to an RS140 in a 26.5. The 26.5 part scares me
-
99mm? Even that's pretty wide.

I got 173 days out of my current/retired pair of Lange RS130s (and I should have replaced them after 2 seasons...113 days)...400+ days? That's crazy.
-
Nice choice!
-
I'd rather buy them online...you're still going to pay sales tax on that price matched offer.

They really want to stop people like me, who have multiple college IDs without expiration dates -
They set the gates half way down on Razorback...which is almost more intimidating...just as steep as the first head wall but narrower and not as well lit. It ran from Razorback down to the bottom of the second head wall.
-
do you have yet another job?
-
WTF...it's 36F outside...too cold for October.
-
Honestly, I think moving it to Razors edge was the biggest mistake. One of the longer stretches of Paradise might work? Or, the middle section of Dreamweaver? Razors edge was too intimidating [for a race course] for the crowd that Nastar is supposed to attract.

I agree on the weather last year...every time I thought about doing it, it was either too warm (dangerous) or rock solid sugar after being soft during the day. Sad to see it go.

Going to the a-lines solved a lot of problems after ditching the nestors footbeds in my RS130s. The custom footbeds worked great in my old crazy blue Langes. It's painful, but I'm slowly getting my ankle to flex more. -

Those elements are super thin to begin with. I had A-lines before anyway...going back to a fully custom foot bed. -

Because I'm a pussy, I have boot heaters (well, bad circulation + cold boots)...instead of having the heating elements stuck on the bottom of the footbed, my new boots will have the heating elements integrated into the custom footbed...no added space and maximum warmth. -
I was just going to post that picture...awesome shot of town and the mountain.

It was part of it. He gave me a some boots that would work with my feet (one of the models being what I'm currently skiing on). I'm just going to get a new pair of what I currently have. Billy only sells Dodge boots (way more than I'm willing to spend), so the fitting processed is fully decoupled from the buying process.
