  1. Because nobody would ski with him. I also banned him, and all his IPs, to eliminate any temptation
  2. Everything had a nice layer of freshly blown snow...everything was a treat. First run down Razors was the best of the year, by far. Razors, Dreamweaver, Paradise and Lazy all had a coat, Switchback and Mainstreet were smooth as silk. Wind wasn't as bad as expected either. A few brews in the parknig lot to celebrate the day afterwards. Why am I writing this report? Because Doug quit PASR.
  3. People drive past Bear to goto Blue, people drive past Blue to go to JFBB. People drive past Okemo to go to Killington. People drive past Killington to go to Stowe. People will drive past Dorney to go to Blue's water park, just they'll keep driving past Blue's to go to Camelback's.
  4. not less...no snow* just some frost.
  5. Less snow now than when I went to bed.
  6. Base depth means very little when comparing mountains. Some places have 60" rocks they need to cover up...a 62" base will suck. Other places can do quite fine with a 45" base.
  7. Tonight was...interesting. The snow was decent. My first run down lazy was really nice buttery snow. Not super firm, but fun. The course was much turnier than last week, which was both good and bad. Good to slow you down, bad that with the softer snow, ruts can become an issue. Luckily we were the 2nd team to run and there weren't many people that we had pretty good conditions. Glenn took a hard fall first run and banged himself up pretty good. Made me ski with my tail between my legs on my 2nd run a little bit (fog had also set in hard). Excuses excuses, but just not my night with the fog/mist...I finished 6th overall. Johnny and Dave are neck and neck...only one tenth apart after two runs which earned them a 12th and 13th place finish. Mike had two pretty consistent runs for 17th overall. Team PASR needs Bob and Toast for the final week!
  8. I'm all in favor of Blue raising daily ticket prices. With the number of people they attract, they clearly aren't charging enough.
  9. I saw as low as -1F on the drive up...the summit was 12F and the base was 4F...quite brisk to start the morning, but absolutely 0 wind. Just me and AngryHugo to start the day. GSS got too wasted, as did BMT and Justo8585. Conditions were pretty prime this AM, as expected after 6" of snow. We lapped Nightmare/Dreamweaver, Switchback and Mainstreet all morning. Crowds really weren't a problem on the trails, but lift lines did start to get out of hand around 10am. Me, AH, ZZslope and AH's brother quit around then...enjoyed some adult beverages in the lot. I was riding the lift with ZZ and some regulars that I recognized. The one woman asked if I was AtomicSkier. I cautiously answered. She started to say "You tell your friend Grilledsteeze sandwich" and all I could think of was "oh shit what is she going to say"....she continued with "that I LOVE reading his reports. They're always spot on and extremely detailed. Tell him that he the middle aged slightly overweight female crowd loves his reports and that he should keep doing what he's doing" So there you have it... Great day, great beers, and always fun skiing with ZZ and AH!

  21. I was thinking the same thing....the only place I've skied that tracks out faster than JH.
  22. Nope....the detour takes you past Big Boulder...makes the drive to Blue really long.
  23. If the temp is 20 in Aspen, dress like its 40 at Blue. If it's not snowing in Aspen, then it's sunny.
  24. That doesn't look like meadow skipping to me...that looks steep.
