  1. heh it really is...i think its a better driving road when coming from 248 towards 946. Love clipping the apex on the tight left hander and letting it rip over the bridge
  2. The best I can do from today:
  3. No comments from RideDeleware for awhile...but I've been taking Hokendaqua and prefer it over Cottonwood. The road surface on Cottonwood leaves much to be desired. I made it to my driveway to the 946/Blue Mtn light in 18 minutes today with some slow traffic around Woodstone. I don't know if I'll ever take Grouse when the bridge opens back up.
  4. I've been to all of those airports. DEN/SLC are both major airports and feel that way, but JAC and ASE have that ski town feel. ASE is the smallest by far and definitely has that small feel. Every flight out of ASE I've ever taken has been boarded by the same guy. JAC is about three times the size of ASE, but what other airport has leather couches, oversized leather chairs, glass tables, and fire places in the gate area? JAC is still 40 minutes from the ski area (5 minutes as the crow flies). As for ASE, you can walk to Buttermilk in about 10 minutes (I've done the walk in the fall, it's beautiful). It's a 10 minute free bus ride to Ajax. You can be skiing quicker from wheels down to skis down than any other ski destination. For views, you can't beat the runway 19 approach/departure for the views of the Tetons out the right side at JAC. Another plus of JAC is the privatized security (no TSA). JAC is one of a handful of airports in the US that is allowed to have privatized screening. It's a much more pleasant experience. DEN is my favorite airport in the US to transit. I much prefer flying PHL-DEN-ASE over PHL-ORD-ASE, as there are 10x daily DEN-ASE flights and 4x daily ORD-ASE. Denver has so much room, some decent places to eat, and has the best runway configuration to deal with the nonexistent traffic that it has. DEN is one of the least delayed major airports in the US. The downsides: it's in Kansas. The airport access road is 20 minutes long. I love to ski both Jackson and Aspen, and both have very unique airports. The final approach into Aspen is quite 'sporting'. You can see in the first few seconds of this video I shot how high the mountains are surrounding the airport:
  5. it's not happening.
  6. i too have metal all up in there. and you're right about bones vs ligaments (I also have experience with that). heal up
  7. we could just put him on perma-mod preview
  8. fucking titty sparkles
  9. broken leg i believe? sucks...i feel your [drug induced numb] pain.
  10. Supposed to rain all day, no?
  11. I was on my slalom skis and enjoyed it. Really smooth and nobody there. Nice to ski Lazy top to bottom without catching up to anyway.
  12. I skied tonight. Got on the snow at 7pm. It was very nice. JADIP.
  13. <----
  14. Last time I checked they had pay-to-play PennTeleData wifi.
  15. It's such a stoke stomper being in the gate and having to hold, staring down at the course in front of you. I always stand about 3 feet back and don't step in until he says racer ready. That way...no time to think, ski up to the gate, goggles down...go. Most impressive last night was the guy that hopped out of the gate and heard STOP as he was already out of the gate, and stopped before the first gate. It was like watching Tiger stop mid downswing.
  16. Team PASR killed it tonight. We were clear of 3rd place by 32 seconds! A second place finish for PASR tonight puts is solidly in 3rd place, with a chance at second overall. Everyone skied pretty well tonight. Johnny had two solid times, as did Nastar Glenn. The conditions deteriorated on the second run due to the sugar which had an effect on Mike's time. I got hung up in the sugar, almost skied out on the first run, hence my slow time. Team did great...we'll be gunning for second next week. I *did* manage to lose to Bobert540 tonight by one spot, mostly because of my first run. I'll be gunning for him next week
  17. Today was great. Skied 1:30 to 4:45. Some beers were had. Conditions were awesome and I was glad I brought both Mantra's and my SL skis. It went from empty to insanely crowded in about 5 minutes when all the buses showed up. I'd say there were about 20 buses in the parking lot across Blue Mt Drive.
  18. I'll see you there Root!
  19. Pissed I couldn't ski yesterday...was planning on getting up there around 1:30...at 11am, got dragged into a 1:30 meeting that listed until 4. Supposed to snow tonight? I'll be there Thursday afternoon to enjoy the sun. Maybe Friday, as well.
  20. Do yourself a favor, don't buy a ski that tries to "do it all". Buy something flat under foot, rockered, and fucking wide. I don't see the point to normal camber + early rise tip and tail for a powder ski.
  21. the snow on razors is so solid right now, a few 50 degree days wasn't going to loosen it up. good stuff last night. wish I could ski that last headwall though.
  22. Shoot me a text when you're leaving your house...
  23. Today's course had a few more technical sections, but the non technical sections were much straighter. I'm killing the top, but keep screwing up big time on the headwall. I looked like an amateur on the last run. The team did pretty well, we had 6 racers finish both runs. After a mistake announcing Johnny's first time, (39 instead of 30.09) everything was good Glenn is really skiing well. He's fast for an old guy. Johnny and Glenn were really close together. I managed for a 5th place overall. Some better skiers were out tonight to push a lot of the guys in the high 20's lower 30's back 10+ positions. BTW, Joe Sulpizio won the PA State Championship in 2009. So no surprise he killed everyone. Former BMR member.
