  1. the snow ghosts are pretty badass...Was the humidity pretty low yesterday?
  2. 4-6" now? I'll take it.
  3. It was a slalom...slalom gates, but a little looser set. My first run it felt pretty easy because I was in the high 24's....but last run when I actually skied it fast, the gates came at me much faster and it felt like a real slalom.
  4. Due to logistics, the race was on Raceway, sorry, Widowmaker.
  5. Welp...I still have it. After 3+ years of skiing on twin tips and powder skis, I was able to post the 3rd fastest time of the night on the red course of 22.91, only bested by PASR's Bobert540 (22.8x) and someone who managed a 22.2x. The rest of team PASR did great. Tonight was just practice...the real competition starts next Monday. It's going to be fierce, but I think team PASR has a chance of doing pretty well. I'll post the results sheet tomorrow....time for bed.
  6. I'll be there before 5pm now...it's feeling like an early day at work
  7. My bet is no...he works today I think? Johnny said he's headin up early to get his form back...I'll be there around 5 for some turns.
  8. current predicitions...
  9. Uncertainty is the name of the game for these coastal storms. If someone sneezes the wrong way, we could get 50% less snow.
  10. that forecast is sick. Please take a regular camera, too. Those fisheye gopro shots suck.
  11. Oh...my Lehigh ID already expired. I have a Moravian ID, as well.
  12. In the east, I always lock them up. Out west, I lock them up in the base area if I'm in having lunch or a beer. A lot of people have the same boards I do, so it's to prevent against the random pick up, but also theft. I wouldn't be heartbroken if they got legs and walked away, it'd be more annoying then anything. I always bring 2 pairs on ski trips, not only for variable conditions, but just to keep an extra pair in the room if something happens.
  13. My big thing isn't overall cost, it's cost/ski day. If I can lower that, I can take more trips. 3 day trips aren't a great value...sometimes you're better off spending more time out there to offset the fixed cost of flying. The least amount of time I'd spend in Jackson would be 5 ski days just to see a decent amount of the mountain. Elevation acclimation isn't really an issue at JH...the base is at 6000 feet.
  14. Tree wells are serious shit. I ate shit near a tree falling face forward and luckily I came up right side up downhill of the tree. It was a tree well that took the life of one of a PASR's member's parents. Stay safe out there.
  15. It's always the thing I hated most about racing...riding up the lift with my race suit on. Talk about shrinkage
  16. Nevermind...I figured it out.
  17. I hate when people try to tell me where I should park. Like the clowns at Killington who direct traffic into the 3rd row down when plenty of spots in Row 1 are open...screw parking out in Kansas.
  18. Agree. I find wine to have much more subtle flavors, and really forces you to have a discerning palate. On the occasions when I do drink microbrews (Snake River Brewery in J for example) I analyze the beers that I drink much like I do wine, although while I think beers tend to be less subtle in hiding their layers of flavor and texture, it certainly makes it easier if you can appreciate wine.
  19. i fancy. bring some sweater vests to JH...I am.
  20. I don't know if I'm going to be able to race...tonight's slalom experiment has left some doubt in my mind that I can ski race skis anymore
  21. it was the first wine I had the whole trip...rare for me. I drank a lot of beer (for me).
  22. If JS can make it from Media, you can make it from Plymouth Meeting.
  23. Does yours say "Rev: 6/2002". I'm pretty sure that's the revision date (or at least that's what I assume it means). Mine was issued in 2008 or 2009...and has no mention of any issue or expiration date.
  24. woot....what time we meeting on Monday? I gotta get on my slalom skis this weekend.
  25. Dinner at the four seasons was great...we ate at "The Peak" which is where we had lunch. They have a build your own burger option that was better then Emril's Burgers @ the Sands. I had a Buffalo burger (med rare), blue cheese, boar bacon, arugula, caramelized onions and jalepenos and sweet potato fries. We had a few bottles of wine, and some appetizers and desserts. Pricey, sure, but awesome food. Everything was phenomenal.
