  1. Wonder if they'll be open for the weekend?
  2. Waiting for root to post the report from today....
  3. That $70 bought dinner for 3 in Aspen
  4. i love wearing sandals to the mountain
  5. Today was awesome, and I got some serious freaking sun. Conditions were pretty legit, and the Challenge bumps were awesome. I did them top to bottom without stopping a few times, definitely had me out of breath. I was feeling pretty good after a few parking lot pit stops, and then a stop at the covered bridge inn. toast and i stopped at rita's for some freebies to finish off another day in paradise!
  6. People at Blue getting their panties in a bunch over this thread
  7. This was a great season at Blue. Your locker issues was hardly a problem, and a problem that none of us season pass holders care about quite honestly as we boot up at the car. Blue is a great place to ski, it just might not be for you. It sounds like JF is the place for you.
  8. Interesting concept...the logistics of award travel for the weekend would be interesting, but doable. GSS on the other hand....
  9. Is Aspen a good time on closing weekend? I've got plenty of miles for a free flight
  10. Good news!
  11. I'll either be wearing blue/green or black/brown... but i'll be there both days.
  12. it was a joke.
  13. Real snow is so much worse for spring skiing then man made stuff. It becomes paste-like. I bet you never had the issues you're having when you skied in the east.
  14. Should be good for me as well.
  15. Warm natural snow with high water content (in comparison to old, blown, sugar w/ very low moisture content) is what kills your speed. A wax a few days ago isn't going to help. Once the snow stays warm for awhile, it won't get grabby as it turns to sugar. By now, the "grabbies" should be gone.
  16. digital geological phenomena are awesome...i've only ever seen one in use at blue
  17. I'm happy to say that the result of skiing some awesome snow at Aspen was that I nicked my edges once or twice...nothing that my file didn't fix. Success!
  18. Anyone?
  19. i hit the casino this morning for $70 and am now heading down to philly...living the dream!
  20. You need to get some new friends I think the part that I like so much about aspen is that 99% of the people stick to the groomers, unlike at most the places. Never at JH or Alta would you have even a trail that is 1/2 groomed, 1/2 ungroomed, and the ungroomed still has fresh at 1pm. People just refuse to ski powder, period. As you can see from our pictures, there is never anyone else in the background, and at Ajax, those pow shots were right underneath the lift, and still, we couldn't see anyone skiing in the area. Hiking the Highlands Bowl is the real deal, and with a max pitch around 46 degrees and the average pitch of the bowl is in the high 30's, that is some legit skiing. Or, hop into Gowdy's for 50 degrees. If not for JohnnyStyle, I may have never visited Aspen/Snowmass because of its reputation, but I am sure glad I did.
  21. I forgot to post the picture of me doing that
  22. Jackson has a lot of small things to huck yourself off of, but in terms of stuff that is actually big and huckable...Snowmass wins
  23. Are you implying that you want to stay at his place? Doug has already warned him about you
  24. Don't worry, Sunday was sunny enough for me I got a nice goggle tan going from the sun we had. Enjoy.
  25. Well, I made it home safely last night. My take off from Aspen didn't have perfect visibility, but I grabbed a view of the take off (no sound, I think i had my headphones plugged in), and managed to snap a overhead shot of Johnny's valley and his house. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4NpzxC-m84
