I'm wondering if that what GD was talking about...sounds as if he went to get his "free ticket courtesy of another season pass" and was handed a camelcard as well as a free ticket. I wonder if they're only giving you one to start, and making you pay at a discounted rate for future tickets.

Are they doing the ski free if you have a pass at another mountain thing this year?

I thought about coming to watch, but I'd prefer to have my ski clothing washed before I head out to Aspen later in the day.

Razors was not closed, as that was Jay's first run. There was corn bumps on main/dreamweaver. PE's are great for the bumps, but the Gots would've been better for everything else.

I usually don't ski Mon-Thurs, especially on Tuesday, but NSJay phoned me and said he was going and wanted to ski bumps. I decided that I'd join him for a quick bump session at Blue the True. I was on the snow by about 4:45 and Jay had already taken a run. He headed immediately to Main Street/Barney's for some bumps. The first part of the top 1/2 was pretty good, but the middle of the top were too small allowing you to get too much speed. However, the bottom set on the steeper pitch were money. You could really get a nice rhythm in them and really start motoring towards the end. Jay was having a blast, and I was pretty stoked on the awesome conditions. We headed over to Nightmare bumps, which were much smaller, but allowed you to either practice maintaing your speed and technique, or take a really direct zipper line down. We alternated between Barney's and Nightmare bumps for a few runs, then eventually did two Main Street bump runs to the parking lot. Temperatures were nice, but there were a few school buses in the lot. Lift lines were nonexistent when we left, but were as long as a minute or two when we first got there. We headed out around 6:15 as Jay had to meet a celebrity for dinner JADIP at Blue Mountain doing only bump runs. Good way to get some exercise. Oh yea, and day 50 for me.

Never skied Shawnee. Back in the early days of PASR, Shawnee used to be the place that opened first But I'd like to get there at some point just to say I skied there.

Crowded? I thought it was freakin empty! The longest liftline I waiting in at JF was what the liftline is like at 8:30am at Blue Mountain.

We might be gone by 9:30

Just tuned the PE's...a few dings to the edges was all the damage that any exploring caused today. Nothing a file didn't take care of All is well, and I'm still freakin stoked on what we skied today.

I've only ever met one CB ski patroller that can actually ski, and too bad he's living in Lake Tahoe right now Only kidding '911, but I'm sure everyone appreciates your sweeps of the woods. At least you have everyone's safety in mind

WOW....today was so freaking good. Probably my 2nd best day of the year in PA. Conditions were just so perfect. Temperature was perfect. We were scoring untracked freshies on our last run. I got some knee deep on the side of Floyds and boot/shin deep was available everywhere else. Run of the day had to be Challenge glade, but Flyods and Elevator were pretty awesome as well. Johnny had to pinch himself because he was still in PA. Couldn't have asked for a better day. It was such a nice change from being at Blue Mountain where patrollers can actually ski, and you can ski anywhere. JohnnyStyle was rocking his retro gear, and while he took a lot of good pictures on his camera, I'll leave you with this one from outside JFBB's lodge...

oh man.....im so glad i wasn't at blue today. I was still getting over boot deep fresh on my last run at 2pm at JF. Great day to miss Blue, for sure.

Where were you? I thought you said you were going to be present

That patroller had the deer in the headlights look He not only grabbed his arm, but he almost pulled toast back. It was pretty forceful, and I let him know that that wasn't going to be tolerated. And toast had the best line: "How is it my fault that your board got on top of my skis and hit my tails causing you to fall? That sounds like your fault"

LOL I can't wait.
