College races don't really generate that much extra traffic on the mountain, besides the trail that they're on. I've raced at Elk before, and forget what trail they race on, but we certainly never ventured to the other lifts. I'd say you'll be fine.

Today was legit. I was on my fat skis.

Once again: CB closes both highspeed lifts early Sunday afternoon...
AtomicSkier replied to setagehtta's topic in Camelback
Freezing rain is actually an acceptable reason to close a high speed lift. Although, I've skied in freezing rain plenty of times at blue and their high speeds were still running. The amount of force applied by the detaching mechanism is so high compared to the amount of ice that can build up in CB/Blues 4 minute lift ride. -
oh no you didn't!

I captured the take off roll from JAC...you can see JHMR above/under the wing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7RnQzwisH8

Well the trip home went very smooth, besides ABE temporarily losing my "plane side checked" bag. It came out on the carousel

Well, it's just another day here in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We'll be home in less then 12 hours

Just got back from a great dinner finale with GSS, NSJay, and his wife. We ate at the Rendezvous Bistro, which was awesome. Since GSS wasn't there for the TR today, I guess I'll have to fill you in. I got in line around 8:45am, only to see NSJay a few minutes later with the biggest shit eating grin on his face, laughing as he got into the line. He was shocked by the news of GSS's demise. We snagged the first gondola with the lifetime season passholder, who was wondering where GSS was. He shared a laugh with us about GSS's dancings antics. At the top of the gondola, it was super thick pea soup with extremely flat light. Down in ampitheatre, it was clear, but still flat light. We took thunder up, and towards the top, it looked a little bright, and about 100 vert from the top station, we broke through the clouds to a bluebird day. Our first two turns in Laramie Bowl were in the sun light, the next 100 where in the darkness of the clouds, but conditions in Laramie were pretty good. It was actually snowing at a pretty good rate in the clouds. We took sublette up, again, breaking through the clouds. We headed over to Wally's world to sample the bumps which had a fresh inch on top, sugar coating them. We were still high enough to be in the sun, so visibility wasn't an issue. Down to the sublette, we took it back up and sampled Rendezvous trail, which had really nice soft snow down the left side. We did that a second time I believe, and then sampled the bumps in wally's a second, then third time. We decided to head back to Thunder, at which time the cloud cover disappeared in the matter of 5 minutes. A run down amphitheater, traversing to over to Apres Vous, and a lift ride up to the top of AV put us at our final run at Jackson Hole for the trip. We flew down to the bottom for a nice lunch at the Alpenhof with NSJay's wife. Stand by for Doug's comprehensive report.

Standby on that first class...don't have enough to upgrade both of us

A light snow right now in the village.

But wouldn't keeping him at home allow him to pick on his brothers more? I think only allowing him to ski on the bunny slope would be more punishing! Oh and it looks as if it may rain at blue and snow at jf on Sunday...so I may be at jf

Uh oh....gss is in extreme pain. He was out dancing last night like a mofo and either pulled a muscle/broke a bone in his foot. He's in extreme pain just walking to the bathroom.

SERCH's dad must be a dosh nozzle for not letting him ski!
-
doug in the casper area awesome clouds..really flat light though. nsjay posing... just saying hello from the cheyenne woods while doug takes a safety break.
-
Your dad is mean! He should let you ski.
-
Have you ever skied Jackson Hole? Doug wasn't being a dick, but there are honestly like 4 trails Sexkitten would feel comfortable on. It'd be a waste of money to ski 5% of the terrain at Jackson Hole.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Who thinks we should ban Cadillac?
-
Did it snow at JF, or was it man made?
-
lol maybe because all of jf's terrain is manmade snow combined with the fact it doesn't bake in the snow all day i had so much powder on my trip last year, but i'm having just as much fun this year. We've had everything from chalky snow on north faces to spring like conditions on south faces, and even some fresh pow. I don't need pow to have fun at JH..skiing the awesome terrain makes it just another day in paradise.
