  4. ya i hope it snows too, but we're having so much freakin fun as it. You don't need fresh pow at JH to have an awesome time. We're enjoying near spring conditions right now. Snow at this point will just be icing on the cake. It's great having 3 PASRs around to really enjoy the awesomeness that is Jackson Hole. It's hard to be displeased with a bluebird spring like day at Jhole.
  5. Don't count on it...We could barely traverse into the Cirque without hitting rocks (its even melted down to the ground at some places). Even the groomers are getting boney. We're still gettin the goods but it's gunna be really rough by the weekend if it doesn't snow.
  6. haha...that must be it that, and the white pants. But in reality, it's all about when the camera snaps the shot. My camera takes a shot 3 times every second, so sometimes the camera miss the apex of the turn and have to chose from the best of the action shots. Jay happened to nail the apex right as the camera grabbed a shot. It's a crap shoot. I took like 50 shots of GSS in the Cirque and pretty much none came out great. I took over 150 action shots today Just killed a bottle of Pinot Noir....Probably hitting the Cadillac Grill for dinner.
  7. Doug hit a snow snake while trying to show off.
  8. Keep an eye out at around 37 seconds...NSJay drops a bomb on GSS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NthDfE-oT4Y Welcome to Paradise. Jay texting the wifey. gss getting mad air gss getting mad air 2.0 me in the cirque navigating some bumps a close up of me in the backseat. jay loving the spring like snow in the cirque.
  9. Sucks ... If I was needed to fill the team I wouldve done it.
  10. A few pics from Doug's iPhone... me in grand lookin for some fresh... eating lunch at the bridger restaurant at 9000 ft nsjay awaiting his first run ever at JH.
  11. Ok...time for some pictures. Today was NSJay's first ever day at Jackson Hole, and even after the first run on a flat groomer, he had the biggest freakin smile on his face. I think he's a believer. JADIP.
  12. I'm beat. I'm having some brews at nick wilsons and then catching the 3pm bus. Expect action shots from today in an hour or two.
  13. Coincidence...Doug giggled like a school girl when the guy said "OK, you are in room 420".
  14. So this is a little different then normal...it's a video trip report. Enjoy Doug's commentary, along with some scenic as well as action shots from the mountain today. JADIP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU4jj6L21do Our room number... Gotta be prepared for anything... Welcome to Jackson Hole... Freakin blue bird day at JH with big red in the distance... Doug in Grand Woods enjoyin the pow Me in Grand woods gettin some goods The view of the last 1/4 of the hobacks...freakin steep and gnarly. GSS takin a rest in the hobacks after 1700 vert...1000 more vert to go! Safety stop in the Bivouac woods Decent snow depth at like 9000ft The view when loading the thunder chair...
  15. LOL i think its just the camera...Camelback would look even worse from that perspective.
  16. Well, the stone grind is going to grind your edges down as well, but this is a good thing. Also, you're going to want to wax your board after a stone grind as it's going to be free of wax, and slow as crap. Structure is good, but without wax, you're not going anywhere. Get a stone grind, have them set the base bevel at 1 degree, and have them wax it (usually standard in a "full tune/stone grind". If you can tune your stuff at home, I'd suggest 4+ waxings before taking the board out on the snow, as to semi saturate the base with wax. As for a shop...Nestors in Whitehall.
  17. LOL....I don't think I'ver ever said that about a mountain out west.
  18. Better buy some new skis if you want to be doing slalom
  19. Always sound advice from R2.
  20. hmm...my favorite.
  21. Is this slalom or GS? If someone pulled my leg I'd do it.
  22. On the top of skis...I love my Gotamas
  23. Fantastic.
  24. Got on the snow around 3pm today. When I pulled in the lot, they were blowing on Challenge, Central Park, and Lower Park. The snow they were blowing on Challenge was so light, mostly air coming out of the guns. The snow wasn't even sticking on my goggles when I was skiing down Razors, so it's not going to be that sticky, wet, death cookie producing snow that they usually blow. Razors was pretty freakin good. They blew a few inches overnight it looked like, cause everything was covered in nice, loose, soft snow. I was on my fat boys today, so they plow right through everything. Nightmare and Dreamweaver had similar conditions, with no skeet spots / slick spots to be found. I lapped Razors and Dreamweaver for awhile, and then headed over to Main Street for a run. The top and middle sections probably had the best snow, but because lower park was closed, it sucked getting back to the 6pack, so I only hit that once. Sidewinder park had so much freakin snow on it, it's insane. They have already started forming the jumps, and it looks as if it'll be opening in a few days. Temperatures weren't bad, and it wasn't nearly as windy as I expected. Overall, awesome day at Blue Mountain. JADIP
