I should have added this disclaimer: To be eligible to stay with the PASR crew, you've got to be a groupie. It's definitely less then 6.5 for you. More like 6.5 for me. So everyone that is going is OK that it's easter on Sunday?

Just a heads up to everyone...spring rates start 4/6, I believe.
-
So? Go to Stowe to celebrate
-
Doug always likes to ski Stowe in mid to late April when their spring rates kick in, and I've never been to Stowe, so we're going this year. Kragan has expressed interest, as has Toast. Here's the deal: We'd leave April 9th (Thursday) in the afternoon, even though Doug likes the leave in the morning, but I have class. Arrive at Stowe in the evening, get posted up like a thumbtack, ski Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and then drive home. Yes, Sunday is Easter, but GSS is jewish and I don't really care. Anyone interested? We'll be driving up in my mom's X3, so there is some room if the schedule works for you. If not, you can drive yourself.

This year has just been excessive. I really think Blue Mountain Ski Police should carry TASERs. That way, when loud mouth fast skiers who try to felony evade the police can be stopped before they escape and cause any more problems. "Press hard, 4 copies"

They were...every instructor was out today.

I woke up to just a dusting on the roads here in the B, but as I drove north to Blue the True, the rate of snow fall picked up. Waiting in line with Toast, it was nuking, and word has it that Mount Mikovitti was closed due to unstable snow. When we hit the snow, the powder was bout edge deep, ski deep in some places. Our first run down Razors was a-maze-ing. It was a thin layer of fresh snow, on top of the best grooming job Blue has ever done. I was on my GS skis today, so flying Mach12 down Razors was awesome, so smooth. We proceeded to do that a second time, and then I snuck on for a third time. The skiers right on the headwall of Challenge was bumped up, leaving a cattle shoot down the left, which wasn't smooth by any means. The snow started to taper off as the crowds picked up slightly. An instructor cut off Toast in the lift line, so he had some fun with her skis She almost ate shit as a result. We lapped Challenge, Dreamweaver, and Lazy, with a run in the park thrown in between. Conditions first thing were top notch. Razors and the middle of Challenge had awesome hero snow, where I could set an edge and trust it. Some awesome mid winter skiing to be had at Blue!

It was a joke....as was the comment about Ted running RADAR.

I rolled in at 7:31am, after a 23 minute, 22.4 mile drive from my apartment on the southside of Bethlehem. It was quite cold in the morning, with the real feel much colder. I was extremely pleased with conditions last night (Friday night), so I was looking forward to this morning. On the first lift ride up, I could see fresh blown on Challenge, and LOTS of it. I decided to hit razors, and I was greeted with a buttery soft and smooth ungroomed left side that I just floated down making big GS turns. Flew down to the lift, and hopped on with a former PASR'er, NiftyShifty. I hit up Challenge, as they were closing it for the race team shortly. Challenge had about 3x the fresh snow that Razors did, and was nice and smooth, still untracked. Back up top, and I lapped Razors a few times. Around 8:40am, the line for the 6pack was a clusterfck, as the quad was not spinning yet. Finally around 9am the quad was spinning and there was no lift line again. I skied with Terry and his buddies because nobody was around. We alternated between Dreamweaver and Razors Edge, with a few Crazy Mile's, Switchback's and Main Street's thrown in. Conditions were pretty freaking good, I wish I would've had my GS skis, but the PE's are always fun. I think I'm going to rock the GS:12s tomorrow. See everyone at 8am tomorrow!

Several people I was skiing with today kept calling them police. Concussion Ted was running radar today, but my detector went off before I rounded the turn. I just killed him with kindness
-
Reasonably good chance I'll be in VT, albeit Southern VT, during those days.

My credit card says no. It's going to be hard to resist.

Hopefully everyone got this email....for 4 hours today starting at noon...Tramdock will only be selling skis boots and bindings... http://www.tramdock.com

Burglars steal cash from Blue Mountain Ski Area office
AtomicSkier replied to Old Geezer's topic in Blue Mountain
Is the placard registered to you? -
Why does Justin look like he has a pole up his ass in the 3rd picture? LOL Nice pics...looks like they resurfaced everything nicely after the sugary conditions of this past weekend.
-
If there is a rail in the way...ski around it. Not really a safety issue I can see it now...6 people stuffed into the back seat of a car just to get the deal. lol

Burglars steal cash from Blue Mountain Ski Area office

How did the thieves know there was cash in a locked filing cabinet? Sounds like someone knew a little more then they should have. And haven't they heard of a safe? -
I am assuming he didn't use the hotronics liners? I've got my M4s mounted on the bottom of my Alines, and it works great. I know they're girly, but I wear them under my powder cuff so you can't tell, but my boots are just ice cold (and yes, they fit properly) in anything under 30 degrees.

With all of Blue's cost cutting, I wonder if they'll do the spring fling this year.

Today was a fun day. Much colder then expected. The sun finally came out later in the morning, and slowly started to warm up. Some good snow to be had. Challenge was nice first thing, and then we moved on to Switchback and Dreamweaver with a few Lazy's mixed in. Main Street however was the best snow. Like Kragan said, 100% confidence snow...no chance of not keeping an edge. All the racers are gone for tomorrow, so hopefully things won't get chewed up as fast and lift lines keep to a minimum.
-
And why did you wake up with a killer headache? If you knew you were skiing today...you shouldn't have drank as much last night. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
-
You're actually completely wrong PhillyCore . I'm not bringing the PE's because of their rather large turn radius considering the crowds that are expected for tomorrow. And my PE's are actually better at speed because of that large radius, so if anything, I'd ski the PE's if I want to go fast. The SL:12s aren't "slow" by any means, they just turn on a dime making them the ski when its very crowded.

spring skiing is the best.

I'll be wearing my blue jacket
