  1. doh!
  2. I'm not sure I'm allowed to say. edit by toast: don't give away the secret, Jeff.
  3. 4-5" in Philly? Blue had .5"...if that's the case...it's going to be nuts this weekend if the Philly-ites have snow on the ground.
  4. I was on the snow by 2:30pm because I had the afternoon off, so I wasn't in a rush to get up there. I only brought my PE's, which I haven't skied on for some time. It was weird being back on something 85mm wide after skiing my slalom and GS skis for the past two weeks. The snow wasn't that great, and there was almost 0 snow accumulating. 1/2 inch, maybe an inch at MOST at the top. Challenge was relatively smooth, some pebbly parts, but they didn't bother me on the PE's. I sampled Razors, Switchback, and Main Street. All three were a little chunky, but groomed smooth, so you could fly down them making super-g turns. I then hit Dreamweaver, which was the run of the day. No chunks, and nice grippy, smooth snow. I alternated between Challenge and Dreamweaver for the rest of my session which was exactly 2 hours long good for 14 runs. Not bad for a bonus day. I pulled over on the side of the road when I got to the same elevation as Mount Mikovitti and there was over two feet of fresh! I was going to ski a few laps at Mount Mikovits, but they were doing avy control work It must be the microclimate there.
  5. Is that available in HD? Is there any possible way of mounting the camera on something that isn't constantly rocking back and forth? Maybe a helmet cam mount might work a little better.
  6. It's definitely not Doug...but almost every IP Rajeev has posted with has been used by other members to post...hmmm
  7. That video could benefit from some de-interlacing That's Blue Mountain in most of those shots, right?
  8. The VIP line was still pretty short at noon. I was enjoying uninterrupted runs down Main Street at that time.
  9. This has been a great weekend of skiing. Friday was nice, Saturday was great, and Sunday was just as good as Sat, but warmer Pulled into the lower lot mad early, booted up inside, and was in line at 7:45am waiting. There was a J4/5 race on Razors, so it was closed well before 8am. First 4 runs were down a very nicely groomed Challenge. I then did 3 runs on Dreamweaver, which was pretty nice today. Smooth snow, and reasonably grippy. I was on my slalom skis so smooth was the name of the game. I then hit up Main Street, which was the trail of the day yesterday, and well, it was again today. Grippy smooth snow all the way down to Midway allowed me to push my SL:120000s to the max. Sweet. I then alternated between Dreamweaver and Main Street. It was pretty crowded, the most I've personally seen this year (but I haven't skied too many weekends at Blue). But the season pass holder's line kept things moving. I skied a few runs with a kid named Mike who was on Freeriders when Trev was the coach, and former Blue Mtn racer. We then met up with the jibhonks Justo, BMtrouble, his blue jacketed friend, and Skier112. Stevo was in the house today, but he didn't swim before coming to work today. Park Crue has the park looking great. The snow sucks in the park, but can't have everything. The drainage pipe has to be my favorite. That thing makes the most awesome sound in the world, thanks to Justo and Skier112. Temps were cold to start the day (below 20) and by the time I left, it was sunny and warm. I pulled out of the lot just before 12pm, very satisfied with the skiing today. Blue Mountain is the only place in PA where you can touch the sky. Hopefully we get dumped on Tuesday
  10. I forgot to mention...I saw Hans, he gave me a fist bump, and he said he didn't put us in the database!
  11. Today was great. Conditions this morning were nice, but it was cold out. Got 1 run on a buttery smooth Razor's first thing with NastarGlenn, then Challenge, which had fresh blown on it. He ditched me to go ski with his sister, but soon after that I met up with AngryHugo. The run of the day was Main Street, which, from top to the middle of Main Street was soft, fresh blown groomed snow which was so grippy. I had my slalom skis on today, so I was in heaven. Bottom of main street was pretty good too. My last two runs were on Razors which was a racers dream. It was smooth, it was fast, and it was grippy. I thoroughly enjoyed my 19 run session this morning. Tomorrow should be even better.
  12. LOL it was not crowded while I was there. I got on the snow around 12:50pm and left at 3:15pm. The most I had to wait was maybe 5 or 6 chairs. Razors was pretty good. I was out on my GS:12s for the first time since I bought them last year. They are freaking awesome, and I forgot what it was like to ski a 24m ski, but they're are so stable and planted at even the fastest speeds. I only did one run down Paradise, one down Challenge, one down Lazy, and the rest on Razors Edge. Pretty good day.
  13. This storm sucked. Period.
  14. Sarcasm doesn't belong on the internet... (That was sarcasm, BTW)
  15. Wow, hardcore! What hospital did you take him to? I'd be worried about blood on my leather seats.
  16. FYI Blue PASR day is 2/7
  17. Same motivation for me getting a roof rack...I was sick of throwing my skis inside the car, albeit in the built in ski bag, but it still made a mess with snow melting etc. Also, it truly allows me to take more then 1 other person skiing. TT, it dropped down to 24mpg from like 27mpg, and that's coupled with the 15% shorter diff that killed another 2mpg. With a car with normal gearing, you'd only lose 2-3mpg. 24mpg was driving to VT w/ the cruise at 79mph pretty much the entire way. Since you car pool, you'd quickly find a rack a big time space saver. No need to use the pass through or built in ski bag.
  18. Then you're going to have to pay
  19. It's already in my calendar
  20. I've had some pretty good evening sessions. As long as a lot of people weren't there in the morning, conditions can be pretty good.
  21. HAH....not bloody likely, unfortunately.
  22. I finally got a roof rack this year and love it. I've got a Thule though, that mounts in the OEM roof rack points (no door bs, and no drilling). Only downside is I dropped down to like 24mpg on the highway.
  23. That's not the norm in PA Most cops I know don't leave home without it
  24. I'd be surprised if a police officer didn't carry their gun on the mountain. As for your average Joe, if shit can hit the fan in a grocery store, it could happen on the mountain. I'm not old enough to CC, but I wouldn't while skiing. Falling on your side w/ a gun there might hurt
