Other mountains closed when the economy was doing well. If you're open for the day, you're open. If I was driving from Philly, I'd be pissed if they were open when I left, and by the time I got there, they were closed. That's not a way to win over customers. -

I actually planned to take yesterday, today, and tomorrow off as of last weekend. I've got an exam tomorrow, so no, I was never even thinking about skiing today And yes, Blue closed AFTER it stopped raining, one of my favorite times to ski. It's when Blue's grooming is at its best -

Because they're two totally different issues. It could be perfect temperatures, and Blue's snowmaking and grooming can suck. Closing because of rain is stupid, because the rain naturally groomed the snow and fixes Blue's bad grooming! I love skiing after it has rained -

Thinks that have always sucked, but still: Bad snowmaking because of the old guns on some trails BAD GROOMING!!! Word of advice, get some groomers that actually ski, and maybe they'll back off the throttle a little bit. Slower is better! More lights! There are some dark spots on main street towards the bottom -
What don't you like about the new ownership at Blue? 1) 8 AM opening on weekends 2) Closing because of rain 3) Waiting until the weekend to open the valley. Continue....

I got on the snow around 1:45. It was partly sunny, but temps were cold. I could hear the guns roaring from the parking lot. Skied down Mainstreet, slightly scraped off, but made two huge super-g turns down it, and catapulted onto main street, hanging on the left side yielded awesome carving snow, great for making GS turns all the way to the lift. Talk about snowmaking assault! In 24 hours, Raceway has 12 foot piles on it, Burma has huge piles on it, Tuts lane is all groomed out, and Connector is ready to open. This window of snowmaking is awesome! I bet we'll see Challenge and Paradise (assuming they're blowing on it) open when the 6pack opens. STOKE! I skied a quick 10 runs, about 6 of them being on Lazy mile, which was much improved over yesterday. Very gripped, smooth snow. Not too many people on it so I could make some turns on it. I switched over to main street for a few runs, and was starting to get cold as the sun went down. I stopped in the lodge for 10 minutes around 3:10 to warm my frozen toes up and get a hot chocolate. 10 minutes later I was back on the snow, my boots felt better then when I started the day. Proceeded to do 7 more laws down mainstreet, which was smooth and very carvable. When I left it was freakin cold, but a good day at Blue. Conditions are improving daily, and they're going to be rapidly opening terrain as the week/weekend progresses. I won't be back at Blue until Friday due to studying/exams.

I doubt the people who update the report are in at 7am. I'd expect it updated by 8am, however.

whoa toast....are you rocking a new PASR die cut sticker?!?!? where'd you get that?
-
Lazy did open today, about 3 lift rides after you left Toast. We waited about 3 minutes at the top, while the ski patrol held everyone back, and as soon as he let everyone go, I got into my bullet tuck, and of course, was the first one at the bottom Anyway, awesome day, for sure. Got to see with Moe, and we even hit up the BMDI afterwards. Conditions were pretty freakin nice, though I could've done without the wind slowing me down at the bottom of Main Street.
