Better Route to Blue in bad conditions....
AtomicSkier replied to phillycore's topic in Blue Mountain
MacArthor Road (Route 145 North) is right off or 22, a few miles east of the Lehigh Valley Exit off the Turnpile. Take that to Blue Mountain Drive (it's a stoplight after a bridge about a mile north of Laury's Station). Make a right, go through the two stop lights, and up the mountain and you're there. That's the way I'll be taking tomorrow to avoid any problems on the backroads. -
1 difference....The Stevenson was closed today. The Comet was not.

If you can't run your lifts in the VERY light wind we had today, they should be condemed and replaced. If it is so dangorous to run them in these winds, something is wrong. Big time. Sure, the grips can get a buildup of ice and snow, but wouldnt every lift in the country get a buildup when it snows or sleets? I don't think you get the point. Nobody else closes their lifts around here because of snow or ice. Craig explained to me in person, very indepth, about why Camelback closes their lifts. He's a very good at what he does (marketing/sugar coating), but if the issue with the lifts at Camelback is true, then why doesn't every mountain have them? There are plenty of quads around world that are older then Camelback's in much more windy areas, and they turn. Either Camelback needs to stop adding on to their water park and invest some money in lift maintence, or get their tail from out between their legs and run the lifts. It's bad for skiers in general. I hate to see fellow PASR's that don't get to enjoy the same epic powder that I get to at Blue, where both high speeds were running. Ski patrollers at Camelback must love it when they get the day off.

Does Blue run their 6er and quad in the wind? Yes Does Blue run their 6er and quad in the rain? Yes Does Blue run their 6er and quad in the sleet? Yes Does Blue run their 6er and quad in the snow? Yes Does every other resort in the country run their high speed lifts in the snow? Yes. Does Camelback? No. Sorry Camelback, you lose.

That would have been PASR's own Shadows, Freeridintre, Justo, and KevinThomas, as well as a few other stragglers.

I rolled in around 11:30 to a cloudy and high 40's Booter. I was a two layer player. Warm underarmor and a fleece. I saw Shady Shadows, Justo, FreeridinTre, and the real KT right off the bat. They were definately throwing it down in the park. Zonked met up with us shortly there after. I did some steeze vert and speed runs, and some slow ones in the park to hang out with the guys I usually don't...since this was my bonus day. It started getting really freakin sunny around 3, and now I'm sweating writing this report as the sun is baking on me. Justo did his first 7 in the park, Trevor got f'ed up a few times, Shadows did a 9. I filmed for them for a run so everyone could throw some steezy shiat down. Razors was freakin nice, as was lazy miles. Doug pussied out in the bumps saying they were too tight, however i thought they were mofo perfect, and definately a good workout. welll ill let doug write the rest of the report when he returns....i need food after my 23 runs

I used to use Fireiridiums all the time, but they're basically a really dark pair of sunglasses, so I bought HI Yellow's for night, but they're so freakin good I use them all the time because there is such a sort amount of time when there aren't shadows or dark spots on the trails during the course of a day.

AtomicSkier replied to sjb269's topic in Montage Mountain
I'm not even an inside guy, and I could've told everyone that. I'm pretty sure that's how every mountain thinks, yes, even Camelback. -
I had originally thought it was mtnbike99x, but alas, it is not.

Blue Mountain will give you a free ticket, but also disable your pass until you present it at the ticket office again to have it reenabled.
