satruday wtih a friend and sunday w/ dan and glenn?

IMO, if I had to drive from Skis again, I would take the highway...I can't remember if skis house was 2 hours on backroads or 3, I'm thinking three. Yea, we saved alot of mileage, but I'm sure I could get there quicker going 84 to 87. But Ski has directions to getting to Belleayre from his house (Hamlin/Lake Ariel area), about 5 miles north of Wallenpaupack

Nothing wrong with taking proper care of your gear, and it only makes skiing more enjoyable. Skis are easier to turn and glide when waxed

All you guys going up on sunday...i might head to killy w/ tre and justo on saturday, depending on what they're doing and head down to bell on sunday... ski, whats your plan for next weekend? doug?

For the average person, yes, you can just go out and ski on them. Most skis, however, come with shipping wax that you probably want to scrape off before taking them out. And all bases on new skis are dry. They are not saturated with wax yet. It takes MANY waxings before the skis see any use before they're saturated. Brand new bases will suck up so much wax, and as more and more wax penetrates into the base after repeated waxings, they'll become saturated and they'll be the fastest they can be I always reset my edge bevels on new skis to exactly what I want, and plus, I trust my hand tools more then I do a machine doing the side bevel. So yes, you COULD ski brand new skis, but I'd recommend getting them waxed if you're not doing the work, but if you're doing the work, reset the bevels and give them a minimum of 10 waxings before they ever see any use. I waxed Doug's brand new skis 4 times before they saw any use, but I had limited time (one night) to do it, and they were dry after one days use, which goes to show much wax it really takes. I'll wax my new skis probably 20 times each before they use any use, and they get waxed after every use.

Windham, mile or two from Londonderry, home of Ross Powers. We're 15 minutes from Bromley, 30 from Okemo, 45 from Killy

cleaned up 14 posts out of here yes, back to the topic at hand. hopefully bell is open, i dont feel like driving all the way up to killy. our house in vt is about 4.5, and then from there, another 45 mins to killy, more driving then i feel like doing in one weekend after last weekends trip and doug, 6 hours? thats right, you drive like a grandma. cranked it up to 80 on 87...you're not gunna get pulled over on 87 for doing 80. If you do the speedlimit, after 4 hours you would've gone 60 less miles then if you were going 80

thatd be fckin sweet....ill be there mofo!

6 lift tickets could be used all in one day. 6 visits is 1 lift ticket, 6 different days. He is refering to the latter.

Yea so many people believe that there is. I've been pulled over in VT, NY, and NJ prior to turning 18, and not one cop said a thing, except for the fact they pulled me over for illegal tint We'll see about the 11th. I'm not going to goto K-Mart if it's the only place open. There are better uses of my money.

the weekend of the 11th definatly doesn't look to promising, even for VT. I guess I might ski the same weekend i did last year

I bought skis from a ski shop in Maine, that happens to sell online. Aren't you proud of me? And I paid what I would've paid directly from Atomic (actually less, they cut me a deal on shipping) more importantly, i paid less for them from a shop then i would've on ebay.. No ebay this year!
-
Will you only buy a Mitsu?
-
as of now, i dont know if k-mart will either. but that's 24/7 snowmaking, and there isnt any of that in sight
