Demo'ed last years 183cm @ 24m at Okemo
-
arms arent out the poles are. I'm in a pretty good position in my avatar
-
I'm going to ski until my hair catches on fire
-
They were 171cm @ 21m GS:11s, we were skiing in semi soft snow (the same day that my avatar pic was taken), and I booted out his GS:11s and went flying pretty freakin high and far in the air after getting launched by them, i did a backflip in the air
-
My last mental image on 21m GS skis was on yours, at Blue Mtn. That didn't have good results, thank god my neck is still intact.
-
Please share, I'd love to hear your experience on slalom and GS skis.
-
show me the flex #'s printed on the skis, then i'll believe that one you're telling me that line or salomon or whoever tests EVERY ski that leaves the factory, and makes sure BOTH skis have the exact same flex...
-
. If anything it's easier to get more angle (tip the ski more on edge) w/ a GS ski, you're going faster, and your holding on longer, lets you get lower into the turn, and the stabilty of the longer GS ski. look at WC slalom skiers, they're more upright then they are on GS. a ski on high edge bends effortlessly, no effort required
-
As if i don't know that already.. race stock? stiffer, and each pair of skis are flex tested and matched for consistency. USCSA = united states collegiate skiing association, and they follow USSA length/radius requriesments (>=180, >=21m) You would know
-
My GS skis from last year were race stock GS:11s 170cm @ 16m, very rare, ski999 has them as well, and if not for USCSA restrictions, I'd be on them again. They are super stiff, and the PERFECT radius. The slalom skis im getting are 165cm @ 12m

but you'd be more likely to drive that xtra distance knowing you wouldnt need to buy a lift ticket, right? Like now, getting to elk you might spend $40 round trip and back and $40 on a lift ticket? But if you only had to spend $40, wouldnt that be more appealing? Because, even at $1000 for a blue pass, easily make it worthwhile (Would have to go about 30 days, instead of the current 11). Hell, I skied for about $3.50 / day at blue last year. Add $5 for gas round trip, and I skied for under $10/day last year.
-
I just have to get better edge angle, which should be easier, since they're 183s, should be more confident laying them over harder, vs my short 170's.
-
I've got a pair with a 62mm waist, wanna try those in the bumps?
-
all race stock skis are 21m or greater, which skidudes are as well.
-
im gettin on 183 @24m, and thats scaring me a little bit

you're a fischer guy right?

I don't know how you can say anything bad about Atomic race skis. #1, 99% chance you've never been on a pair of GS:11s or SL:11s, which are their flagship skis, and the only ones I'd ski now. Sure, their low end stuff is crap, but so is the low end crap from every other manufactorer. Their race skis are some of the best on the market, and they dominate Skimag's tests every year. I might be slightly biased, but i DO demo skis from other manufactorers, and I keep coming back to Atomic. That, and I really hate the thought that Id actually have to get bindings mounted. I love being able to mount my own, and be able to switch them in 10 minutes over to new skis.
-
$600 for a pair of race stock brand new skis is a good deal, imo. trev, I have a few pairs of atomics in my basement, if YOU still want to get on a respectable pair of ski.
-
would someone still teach that kid how to design a website? it still sucks...and apparently, nestors only sells 2 pairs of adult skis
-
I just got off the phone with the Atomic race rep...and of course I forced myself to drop the cash on the 2007s. They're only $100 more / pair over last years race stock on Ebay, so might as well support an atomic shop. I just bought 2007 Atomic GS:12s @ 183cm and 2007 Atomic SL:12s @ 165cm...w00t w00t! I pick them up at the pro night at buckmans in november this is the first time I've owned current generation skis, and i paid less then I originally though I would for TWO sets of 2007s

You're mean Thinksnow

One of the new mods better pin this

I'm still laughing

didnt i just say that? lol I know they opened because of alot of snow, I almost drove up there. I should have worded that better though. If they did officially blow out the mice (as a marketing thing, of course) they probably did it while they were open in that stretch.
