Maybe some of the jib honks can help you out here, but the PE is pretty much a park ski...The best all mountain/any condition ski is the Atomic Metron, and Philpug can vouch for that one. You spend 90% of your time on trails, so get something that can arc...any ski will be able to hit jumps, but how often are you landing switch?

I have a way to replicate a binding release check, and all bindings I mount release when they should, and when they shouldn't. Though if you don't have experience doing it, then definatly have a release check done. I can confidently mount a pair of Atomics and know for a fact, they're going to release. The atomic system is truely doug-proof.

Ted, you know that I'm a big EBay guy, and I think it's pointless to buy in a shop. I paid $480 shipped for a pair of last years Atomic GS:11s (Race stock) w/ Race 614 bindings, both skis and bindings were brand new. I know Volkl 5 stars in the stores go for like $800. The allstars, even more. Definatly go with Ebay, save the extra $$$, and maybe save it for your next Deer Valley trip. If you buy Atomics, I mount them free for any PASR member

wait, were you aqua man? i thought the duck cut of aqua man the first time around...

Brass is only needed for harder waxes, other then that I use my nylon for a warmer wax. And Papasteeze, when I was at Camelback this year, it was EXTREMELY dirty. Worst I've ever seen. all I know is that George Risi doesn't use a metal scraper....

GS:9's in a 180cm have a 16m radius, perfect for NASTAR, and are EXTREMELY light...Two of my GS:9's are about the same weight as one of my GS:11's. They're a great ski, and it's what really helped me get into racing! After a season or two on them, and you're arcing them really well, you can step up to it's big brother, the GS:11s

it looked like everyone doing it was blast...i saw tretiak in line, but i also saw the same person go three times while he was in line...so maybe he was just hanging out up at the start? But badass bunny was surely skiimmin the pond.......the jump made for some extra carnage, i got lotsa video, i even got doug going down the stairs, and then rappping at the bottom... freeridintre was maning the lips

Toast...I am not incorrect. That white stuff, as cadillac correctly pointed out, is your base oxidizing. It's essential rust for your base. The only stuff that spring snow leaves on your bases is a blackish/brown residue if you wipe your bases down with a towl after skiing.... And toast, if your bases aren't pure black after you wax/scrape/brush them, you're not doing it right, or not getting your wax hot enough to absorb into the base.

Yea, the wind was picking up in a certain direction tonight. And when it's in that certain direction, it carries the smell of the pig farm down the road to Blue...that's the smell....

The best system I've seen, by far, is the Atomic RACE series (this includes the red or yellow race bindings, the green SX bindings...etc)...The RACE/SX 614 bindings have a DIN range of 6-14, but offer 5 varizone settings (5 different positions to place the binding...It moves the binding a running length of almost 1.5 inches, which is ALOT to move all your weight. The idea is great, and all you do to change your turn length is pop off your skis, move the lever over, slide the binding to where you want it, and lock it in. The new atomic neox offers a similar system, but much more restrictive and much harder to change. As for other companies, I don't know if anyone else makes a moveable on the fly binding....
