of course they do actually, atomics from the factory bend that way, they bend a little more when you wax them though...

and the truth is, shops around here, even nestors, don't really carry top of the line stuff...i mean, the top of the line that nestors gets are Volkl 5 or 6 stars, no? I hardly call that high end, but it sure has a high end price. It's unfortunate, really. It's unfortunate that I can't go into nestors and buy race skis, whether it be atomic or not. Trust me, if Nestors was remotely close to ebay's prices, i'd buy from there. pete's a nice guy, and an amazing boot fitter, and if not for him i'd be screaming 1/2 way down razors in pain like i was before. And I have no problem paying the $160 for foot beds...however, I do have a problem with paying $500 for a very intermediate ski at nestors, where I can spend that same $500 to get a pair of last years race stock Atomic GS:11s with race614 bindings...

I only park up top on power days to avoid getting in an accident on the way down, and plus, i want to jump out right into pow, and not ride a lift up watching all the ski patrollers hack their way down, takin all the fresh pow.

Park down below, makes for a MUCH quicker exit. Here's an example. You're at the top, you want to do Razors one more time, and then you want to head out. Go down razors (2 minutes) take off your skis, walk to your car (2 minutes). OR Go down razors (2 minutes). Take the quad back up (5 minutes). Ski down Mainstreet/switch/lazy (3 minutes) Go up the main street chair (6 minutes) Ski down to the lodge (1 minute). Take off your skis and walk much farther to your car (4 minutes)

Fortunatly, Justo isn't that informed Thank god foam cores are just as good as wood cores, and guess which one, if you get a core shot, won't rot? It's partialy the foam core that makes Atomic's so damp at very high speeds. I have Atomic race skis with 120 days on them, and they gave me my lowest NASTAR handicap of the year, smoking my almost brand new GS:11s And, it's true that the low end Atomics are some of cheapest skis to manufacture, but it's also true that Atomic race skis are some of the most expensive, for a reason.

Woke up late today, managed to still get to the bottom lot at 7:17am, i felt like a slacker getting there that late. Doug and I were the first chair up to hit the freshly blown nice and deep snow on razors edge, which was amazing....couldn't even hear yourself ski. We then met out up mt-bike mike a few runs later, then we met up with our friend Ted, then kragen, then NASTAR glenn. All six of us would just fly down everyrun we did. Conditions were really nice, and there were actually people there, alot of people! It's march 18th, and the snow is still amazing, and covereage couldn't be better. Get out there and ski!
