    ski sizing?

I'm 6' and I'm on 170s, but idealy, for slalom, I'd be on ~ 157's which would be at my chin or so. My 170's come up to my eyes, which is a good range (somewhere between your lips and eyes I'd say). Any shorter you might start to lose some stability in softer/slushier snow, and at higher speeds.
  2. Don't forget Metz! 'Dudes at 7springs this weekend right?
  3. What are you talking about?
  4. I have the utmost respect for the 'Dude and what he does. Beating him in a NASTAR, like you said, proves nothing. I am going to give it a shot, what do I have to lose?
  5. It has absoloutly NOTHING to do with the 'dude, absoloutly nothing whatsoever. I really am not ready for USSA yet, the slalom aspect of it that is. Going to do my first one at Mountain Creek. We shall see how that goes. I think I have some talent, and I want to put that talent to the test, and that would be by racing USSA.
  6. You really don't need to be so defensive. I think 'Dudes times speak for themselves. It wasn't a challenge either, and no I don't think I'm so fast. I don't know where you got that from. I KNOW I've improved, and I just wanted to judge my progress against 'Dude, who was better then me last year, and better then me this year. I'm just using him as a benchmark, so to speak. And, my equipment does not meet USSA requirements, so ASRA is as "real" as it's going to get this year.
  7. too funny.... I'd really like to go head to head with 'dude sometime this year, preferably in an ASRA, to see how I compare....
  8. You didn't get the memo? I do. I didn't cut him off, I was behind him the whole time, and I bailed cause I decided it wasnt safe. It's irrelevent if he's on the freeride team or not, maybe he should be on the race team to teach him how to ski faster.
  9. Well at least he set the record straight, especially when the course is a little bit longer then Bear Creeks You're talking about yourself right? I could never beat 'dude
  10. Yea I'll be there tomorrow tre, on my rock skis cause it's going to be soofftt

I had a really good day. Razors was closed when I got there for the J3 Race that was being held. I will say this, when it comes to racing, Blue does not fool around. I heard some Montage kids on the lift in front of me yelling "OMG It looks like a slalom" because the first course set was REALLY tight, before I knew it was a J3 race, it looked like a course set for a 1/2 race, but it was set by the Blue team, and it mirrored their practice course they set yesterday, to their advantage obviously. Was chatting w/ a J3 from CB, she goes to school with RacerChick, and of course, knew the 'dude...she was #132.. Snow was really nice the whole day, I was laying it over as hard as I could on Challenge, just having a blast. I did two main streets, and the rest challenges I think. I took one lower park run, but this dope in front of me was going so slow I couldn't hit the jump, but apparently I pissed off freeridintre, but he doesn't own the mountain. I get just as pissed, even more so when someone is on Razors Edge and I'm trying to rip. Deal with it. Rode the lift a few times w/ toast and justo, they were keeping it steezy in the park. 28 runs for 30k vertical....what what

What a glorious day at Blue Mountain it was. It was truely AMAZING. I had the 2nd chair behind gahskier (george) up in the morning, did two laps on Razors before the Race team took over, skied by myself for awhile, then met up w/ a guy I see around alot that I've skied with, and we did laps down Razors when they opened it, which was UNBELIVABLE. The snow was sooo grippy and so smooth. Freshly blown snow everywhere. Top of main street was sooo grippy, Challenge was really nice, and Razors was really nice, the only three trails I did all day. Did 21 runs for 22722 vertical feet, I'm closing in on 900,000, hopefull to hit 1 million soon there after. Had the GS:11s out and what a perfect day for them... Doug, you missed a great one! Lots of hero snow everywhere!
  13. I was at Camelback tonight, but I'll be at Blue when they flick the switch for the lift tomorrow
  14. I saw soooo many PASR's there tonight.... Dude Racerchick Metz the garden state Pyro Stevo Dthmtl LineSki Skied w/ RC for a little, then met up with pyro, and we skied together for awhile then we found dude, after I called his house and skidad answered, and said he was at the mountain. Then dthmtl appeared out of nowhere....was a very fun night
  15. You could've tried it last night, since Thinksnow was a no-show, I had my GS:9's fully tuned in the car
  16. ~ 3:45 or 5:30, depending on if I go to a appointment at 3:30 or not...
  17. It was my kinda snow, and my kinda course. When I skiied a really aggressive line on really grippy snow, I pulled it off, and it showed. Though, most of my runs were with my jacket on, it was sooo windy and cold in the start, bone-chillingly cold
  18. When I absoloutly demolished that one gate at the bottom of the headwall, it really paid off, I must've carried all that speed to the finish, because that was my fastest run of the night, also my most painful The conditions and course set were perfect for me, I was in heaven.

Whew! I can honestly say it was one of the best nights condition wise. The snow was SOOO grippy, the GS:11s were out, and there was a chill in the air . I took a few runs, then met up with Ski999, we did two then headed over to NASTAR. Metz the garden state arrived shortly there after. What a night for NASTAR, besides the wind, it was unbelivable. A really technical bottom section (for NASTAR) was really fun, and definatly seperated the time. My fastest run of the night was my first run, where I took such a tight line, I knew either myself, or the gate was going to get destroyed, so I just closed my eyes for impact, but it payed off. Unfortunatly, I was .03 behind the winner. I did 14 runs again, my first four, and my last two without my jacket, otherwise, I had it on, it was too cold. My fastest was 22.87 Ski999's fastest was 24.53 Metz's fastest was 27.70 Mtbike-mike's fastesst was 30.50 And Glenn, a really nice guy we've raced with the past few weeks fastest was 27.69 http://www.nastar.com/index.jsp?pagename=r...45564&year=2006 Great job everyone, conditions were amazing! Me, Mike, Metz, and Glenn took 4 or so runs after NASTAR on Razors Edge, which was absoloutly amazing. I'll be at Camelback tomorrow
  20. Thanks Putz for the backup BTW, the GS:9s are tuned for you, so just call me when you get to Blue. I'm just really happy about my racing this year, and the improvement that I've seen.
  21. You can keep dreaming, you really can.
  22. Uhh, I clear the ride side everytime. And no, I'm not joking.
