http://www.nastar.com/index.jsp?pagename=r...45502&year=2006 'Dude? Were you just going to keep that silent? That's worse then him beating me by .02 seconds. What happened? BTW - Good job Ridge! I can't believe Papa wasn't foaming at the mouth to post that, man, if I tied 'dude I'd be making 100 threads

the same could be said about you, until tongiht....actually, now that i know thats you, i used to see you all the time
-
Well, Blue was nice and firm and grippy ice tonight.
-
Well, no powder, but it was snowing the entire time I was there, flurrying most of the time, but pretty intense for about two runs (I was covered in snow). Saw a few PASR's....Justo8484, Toast, and then on my last lift ride I saw George (gahskier). He was pretty pumped for NASTAR tomorrow too, should be GREAT conditions. Skiied 17 runs on the slalom skis, which can really wear one out. But whew, are those 9.16's amazing. I slid the bindings all the way forward (the best position) and no matter how fast you're going, just tip it on a high edge and BOOM, it just bites and turns, I was really impressed, no slip whatsoever. Challenge was pretty grippy (well, ice), but I was loving it. They're going to pump it out on several trails tonight, so conditions should be improving over the next two nights, but only to meet with near 50 degree temps again on Saturday... Where's Doug? You can only ski so many runs listening to an iPod
-
But Doug's not going to be there...I guess it's against Thinksnow this time... I've been wanting to ski my GS:11's all this week, but the tune on them is perfect, so they'll come out tomorrow

Image 13....Looks like Skidude (same jacket) Beautiful pics Sib...

Perfect temp, perfect icy snow for ripping and going fast. It was a little more crowded tonight (it was empty last night)...they actually had the crowd guy out past 5:15pm. I did 15 laps, a few razors edges before they closed it, a few main streets, one switchback, a few parks, and the rest on Challenge. Saw a guy I've skied with before, Ted, who can really ski, said he ran low 24's at the last NASTAR at Blue, real nice guy, and I think he'll be out on Thursday. I think I saw toast in the line, he was behind me w/ his tall ass friend. I really wish I would've had the GS:11s out, but they're tuned absoloutly PERFECTLY, so I'm saving them for Thursday...might be on the slalom stix tomorrow...who knows.... I was ONE run short of surpassing my vertical total from last year
-
Yea I am....introduce yourself one time, we've both been up there a helluva lot and I've let to meet you.

My first time back at Booter since my trip. I expected coverage to be REALLY lacking, even worse then when I left. Man, was I surprised. They've seemed to have gained snow over the weekend, and everything looked great on Razors/Challenge. Didn't venture off those two tonight, as I was alone, and just wanted to work on some technique stuff. Did 19 laps for 20k vert in softer snow, with a hardpack underneath. At around 5:10 the snow started to REALLY set up and I could lay it over as hard as possible with very little movement underfoot. Weather this week looks great, and it appears that Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be GS:11 worthy (it's been sooo long) with snowmaking temps at night to continue for awhile, so hopefully they can rebuild everything that they've lost over this month long warm spell, and MORE!

I think it was clear where I was Better question was, where was Ski999?
-
PA State Representative I believe....

I really wish I could do NASTAR tonight, but Im HOPING I can be back for Sunday's ASRA, I'm really pushing for that, we'll see how much stuff gets tracked out on Saturday...
-
Another great day at booter, even better then yesterday (except Switchback) I skied w/ my good friend Jon, who snowboards, so that slowed my pace down a bit, but we had alot of fun. Razors was AMAZING, really grippy hardpack/ice. I only did 1 lap on Challenge, and it was OK, not as good as Razors. Lazy mile had freshly blown snow, which was EXTREMLY grippy, so grippy that I was making short turns on slalom skis and the skis just whipped around so fast I went head over heels! Swithback was deathcookieish, and Main street was pretty nice, temperatures were perfect, and tonight should be a GREAT night for some NASTAR, have fun you guys! I'm in the air in about an hour! See everyone again on Sunday 11" inches last night at Alta, and 6-10" today, with another 1-3" expected tonight, with high pressure on friday, and another storm moving in for Saturday!!
-
Don't forget me!
-
Leaving tomorrow afternoon after I ski 30k at Blue As much as I love Alta, I love racing, and Im missing NASTAR tomorrow night, and ASRA on Sunday (though I may make a surprise apperance for that)
-
I think RomeOp works at Nestors
-
You might as well head to Blue, Camelback might close tomorrow, it's going to be above freezing
-
The safety issue? BS. Blue has glazed over, as if someone took a firehouse and sprayed the whole mountain, it was one sheet of ice. But you know what? I loved it! It was not a safety issue, sure that's what the marketing department is going to say, but it was a buisness decision. At Blue, the first persons showed up at 12:30, and at 2:30, there were only ~ 25 people on the mountain. Not a good day for blue, but they were still open, regardless of how icey it was. Im glad i bought my pass at a mountain that doesnt close because of some rain

andrew looked sexy wearing that last year
-
I would continue to rent shaped skis vs going with the straights. Skiing on straight skis is just engraining bad skiing....
-
I will just say this, to all of you who said it would be crappy tonight. Tonight at Booter, was on of the best ripping nights of this year. I laid down better arcs then I have all year, the snow was sooo grippy!
-
I don't get how one could say Blue's lifts are slow? They have a high speed quad, that runs at the same speed, or faster then CBs. The doubles are for busy days, so of course those are going to be slow. I like Camelback, I really do, but I prefer Blue. When I do 20 runs at Blue, I get 21640 vertical feet. At Camelback, off the Stevenson I would need to do 28 runs to match that, or 34 runs off the Sullivan. I did 24 runs tonight, and that would be ALOT more runs at Camelback....
-
When there is good coverage at Blue, I always have an extra pair of GS skis if anyone wants to try racing....I can adjust them to anyones boot in about 30 seconds, so Toast, no excuses...btw, I'll be up at 8:30 tomorrow morning, look for me....

Nice article, though.
