  1. In Metz's defense, his first run was in an EXTREMELY rutted course, that Doug and I had been racing on for over an hour and a half. We got some really fast runs in on a nice smooth course, then the ruts just started getting deeper and deeper and deeper. I missed being the fastest of the night by .03 seconds
  2. black ones, the us ski team ones....they didnt have the crazy looking ones this year...? at least i didnt see them on RR
  3. Thanks BTW - I got some nice Reusch gloves via Thinksnow's boys today...nice padded knuckles and fingers
  4. Why would the fog stop you from going? If anything, it would be rain
  5. And I thought I was cocky and unhumbeled. Metz, you're a nice guy, but I hate to see you set yourself up for another beating, especially in your condition. You really shouldn't be skiing until you're better, let alone staking your reputation on racing. I'm not Bode Miller, I'm no Skidude, I'm not even a Ski999, but you need to work your way up. Get some practice under your belt, improve those times, then start boasting about your big GS arcs, because they're not doing you any good unless you can tighten them up for an offset GS. I've really tried to become more humble about racing, since I know I'm not that great, but to finsh 10th place w/o a speed suit in a very nicely set ASRA is very respectable. My first ASRA I finished 26th. Your first goal should be to finish within 15 seconds of the leader, which, when you're racing against those guys, is very respetable. Take baby steps, we're all new to this. My goal last year was just to get some experiecne, I really had no expectations. A great skier doesn't necessarily make a good racer.
  6. Principle. People just hate being pressured to do anything. If my room is a mess, I'm more likely to clean it in a 1/2 hour then I am if my mom comes in yelling at me to do it now. If I want to clean it, I will. If someone pressures me to do something, I may just take my time, in spite, or not do it all.
  7. Rob, I almost bought my new BMW at a local dealer, but because the salesman was constantly annoying me, calling me on the cell phone constantly, asking if I was ready to order, I got so sick of him, that I went to another car dealership to order the car, where I wasn't constantly bothered about if I was ready. He understood that I was shopping around, and I told I'll let him know in a few weeks. I hate being pressured, and I know alot of people do to.
  8. On a weekend Montage is only an hour away from Bethlehem for me, and that's well worth the drive. I loved the diamonds there, just a great mountain, and the lack of people there was amazing! I felt crowded when one other person was on the run with us.... Can't wait to head back up there when it gets cooler
  9. You act like someone who didn't get beat by an injured skimom
  10. Yup, both of our runs were within a few tenths of each other...Ski999 is super consistant, even in NASTAR...
