Oh my god...amazing! After a grueling drive up, I was on the snow by 8:40, with untouched light powder on Midway, which was 100% orgasmic. The snow was unbelivable, making your own tracks, it flying up over your knees. Met up with Doug after my second run, and we searched out the powder, especailly on Falls, which was nice and steep with some nice stashes on it early. We had about 5 or 6 REALLY good runs of untouched/lightly touched light snow, then it started to get tracked out by about our 10th run. Conditions couldn't have been better, and with more trails opening up for tomorrow, it's going to be a great weekend, and oh yea, it's only December 9th!! My quote of the day "Doug, you're a powder whore" Oh yea, everyone ask where Thinksnow was

it by accident that i locked this, pressed the lock button w/o paying attention

Doug, it was 100x emptier tonight then the past few nights....I literally timed my runs w/ the lift gates, so i never had to stop, i just kept moving...it was great! I was pushing 8 minute laps...that's pretty quick
-
vtmark if you're there, you're blind. I was there till 5:30 (got my 10 runs in, wanted to save some energy for tomorrow) and I didn't see you once. I'm probably the most visible person on the mtn....Anyway, great day of skiing!

Some where at Belleayre, some (about 6) were on Lazy Mile at blue, everything else has been main street at blue....i'm not complaining, cause I've been skiing the past 6 days now
-
It was nice skiing w/ you George! I've been eating so much lately, but it's because all of the skiing. When I got home I inhaled a quesadilla and a chicken salad sandwhich....Too bad Thinksnow couldn't make it out tonight, it was a great night to be skiing. I had a 1/4 tank left in the tank, I filled up on the way home so I had no interuptions tomorrow/this weekend in my trips to and from blue

Whew! Another amazing day! Skiied a bit longer today, 17 runs. Mainstreet gets better each night I think, and so does our skiing. Doug and I skied 16 runs together. Funny story, I'm at the top of the mountain and this guy in this yellow jacket took a few glanes at me, and Doug and I fly down the mountain, and he's there again, finally, as Im about to get on the lift, he says "hey are you atomic skier? and you must be doug". It turned out to be gahskier, who has been lurking since last year...so that was cool, made us feel like celebritys I may just do it again tomorrow
-
doug, im leaving in a few too... thinksnow is a wimp and called me this morning at 8:30 telling me he's wussing out!!!
-
Well last year I skied 13 out of the first 15 days...I hope to better that this year...Im going for twenty in a row, hoping for 25 ski days before New Years!
-
I just emailed my connection at Blue....wait and see...
-
Rob, you have to know how talk to those people...I'm taking care of it now... Doug, what time are you going tomorrow? I should be there around 6 or 6:30...Greg should be there between 6:30 and 7....did the "crowds" dissapear after I left?
-
I may have you seen you, the jacket caught my eye....You really couldn't miss Doug and I (well, actaully, it might be quite easy) since we were the only ones going Mach 10 down Main Street

Snow Thursday/Friday with us in the Sweet Spot!
AtomicSkier replied to lurker's topic in General Chat
what did you get? GS:9s in 170cm are 15m radius... -
didnt notice it until i started tuning my own gear (first time actually). I noticed looking from a side profile, you could see the side edge was thick at one point, and then got thin and then thick again, it's like they held it that spot on the grinder for longer...

I'm with adam, nothing is better then REALLY firm and grippy hardpack (well, ice, really). With race skis that have uber sharp edges (like mine) there is truely nothing better then tipping the skis down the fall line, they just grip, and don't let go. You'd never think its ice. Pow just gets in the way of good turns, and nothing we ever get here is good enough to call "pow". Let it freeze! -
When I dropped my skis off, i said I wanted 1degree base, 3degree side bevels, and the guy said to another worker "brad will have to do them when he gets in" I'm not sure if he just did the bevels, or or the grinding too, but my GS:9s have a low spot where they were ground down too much (it's very apparent when tuning)

I don't know why you waited till this weekend, the skiing is amazing!!

whew! another great night of skiing at Blue. Conditions were amazing again! Truely a great night for ripping hard, fast turns down Main Street. Skiied for 12 runs before I headed out, Doug was still ripping away (he should be leaving in 15 minutes as of right now). We had some fun dickin around with this guy that thought he was hot shit. We also took a run or two w/ Forumdestroyer...Hopefully Thinksnow will be out tomorrow!
