No problem! I figured while I was installing them, might as well take some pics!
-
I got the ultimate Atomic setup for $460 shipped. I'm very happy.
-
Ski, when in the SPEED position, does the back part of your rear binding post stick out of the track just a little bit? I'm thinking of moving the front post up to the front screws (as I currently have it setup on my GS:9s) therefore keeping the whole rear binding post in the track, but if yours hangs out, then I might as well keep it the way it is.

They are black, just lots of light on them....

wasn't an option, putz.

Few words to start with. I am not an authorized Atomic installer, nor do I have any real experience dealing with bindings, I just happened to be VERY familiar with Atomic bindings, as they are VERY easy to install. Just to guide anyone along that has wanted to do it, but it's pretty self explainitory, just don't blame me for anything. Step 1 Get Atomic Race 614 bindings via UPS ($180 shipped). Step 2 Open the box, inspect items. Step 3 Layout the front/rear posts on the ski, ready for mounting. Step 4 Take the rear binding assembly (plate + post) and place it over the mounting holes (the middle ones apply to most people). Gently screw in the two screws shown so the binding band comes loose, and then remove the rear post, so you can torque down the four screws holding the rear plate in place. Step 5 Rear post removed, all four screws in place. Step 6 Twist/press the red tab (part of VARIZONE) clockwise (even farther then show in the picture) to remove the front post from the front plate, to gain access to the mounting screws. Step 7 The front mounting plate with the three mounting screws shown. Place the plate onto the mounting holes, again, for most people, the center holes (on my skis, they have the brass inserts) will be sufficient. Screw the plate into place. Step 8 Both plates now secure. Step 9 Take the rear post, glide it into the track and slide it forward Step 10 Keeping the red tab as far to the right as possible, slide the front binding post onto the track of the front plate, sliding the post on from the front of the ski, and sliding it back toward the rear post. When I mounted mine, I locked it into the "Speed" setting. Step 11 Not shown, but place the rear binding band on TOP of the front binding band, and line up the holes that correspond to your boot size. I find the numbers hard to read, so just do a fit and check I used the third hole in for my 325mm sole length. Once the holes are lined up, slide the top plate from the back of the ski, into the front post, and it should fall right into place. Tighten the screw to hold the two bands together (this is the heart of the freeflex system, which allows the rear post to float freely in the track). Step 12 Put your boot into your binding, fully locking it into place (if it doesnt fit, skip to the next step to loosen up the binding and then return). Step 13 This is the binding adjustment screw. Because the holes in the bands only adjust every 10mm (320mm, 330mm, etc) this screw provides any size inbetween (323mm, 325mm, etc). Tighten/loosen this screw until it is FLUSH with the back of the binding. When you run your finger over the screw, it should feel even with the back surface of the binding. Step 14 You're done with the installation of your Atomic Race bindings! Just take them to a shop to set the correct DIN and do a release check. Otherwise, do it yourself like me!

new bindings came today, btw...all mounted and ready to go!

I was just at Roosevelt park in NJ yesterday at a Bimmer meet
-
your "big brown" takes FIVE DAYS, at LEAST to get a package from cali to my door. that's not too efficient, now is it? I WANT MY BINDINGS!!!!!
-
uhhh, I don't know if it's affilated w/ Mack Trucks
-
hmm...perhaps PASR should offer to redesign their site
-
The 20yr old is perfect for '999....any pics? BTW, does she mumble too?
-
With 95 days on them, they've been plenty exercized
-
BTW, nobody is getting me GS:9s...they can try them, but not have them
-
Yea I guess you're right. I was worried about getting the GS:11s in a 21m because at a place like MC when they actually offset the gates, I could be in for a treat...But I love the 16m GS:11!
-
Rob, don't instigate problems
-
When I demoed GS:11's at Okemo, they were race stock, so I can't really compare, and I don't even know if the 171's are even a 21m radius, it might be a little less (i know the 05's are 18.5m in a 171). They will definatly whip him into shape quickly, or else he'll be in the trees
-
When Adam skis at Blue, I will ALWAYS go and watch him. When I play in golf tournaments I play so much better when I know I have someone watching (my parents, or if my friend is caddying for me). It's always nice to know someone is rooting for you. I'm sure he enjoys the support, and it's always fun to watch the other racers. I'll definatly be supporting Ridge the same way I know if I was racing, I'd like someone to be there (like at Tanglwood, it was great hearing ski999 yell "go jeff go") '999 will make a great coach, he's already made his daughter an amazing skier, who is soooo much fan to have a around
-
I'm just hoping both you have SKi999 haven't led him down the wrong path. He only weighs 135lbs, has had a leg injury (6-14 DIN binding might be a little too high?), and needs something he can really bend to arc turns. But jumping right onto GS:11s with a 21m radius isn't exactly something I wanted to do, and I can arc a nice turn already. But to each his own, and like '999 said, he could almost get his money back by relisting them.

'999 saw my tuning abilities, the second last day at Camelback, when we tucked down Nile Mile, I had pulled a good 50+ feet on him by the end But anyway...you pulled the trigger on the GS:11s? Congrats man! My bindings should be coming soon to complete my ultimate setup 3 degree side bevel = amazing. It just requires alot of maintence as the more angle, the easier it gets dull. I loved my GS:9s, and they'll have you making arcs in no time. Can't wait to step up the big leagues with the GS:11s

Well, besides you Sib is the one always saying someone with low USSA/FIS points would never be caught dead doing NASTAR
-
Gary, do you have any students at the USSA/FIS level that have signifcantly lowered their points (that had low points to begin with) due to waist steering? When we're talking about people that race NASTAR, it's not exactly the cream of the crop, hence the ease in which it is to improve. Example: You start out golfing, and you shoot 120. When you're shooting 120, it's alot easier to drop 20 shots to shoot 100, then it is if you're shooting 90, and want to get down to shooting 70. It's a little easier to keep your head down to drop 20 shots, then it is to have the perfect swing. Ski999 has explained this to me many times in person, and what he's saying makes sense, even if he doesnt express it well enough online. Shouldn't you focus on having good technique, rather then introducing a totally new concept? Gary, you're welcome here, just DO NOT disrespect a long time member, and a very good friend of mine.

It's 4 months till ski season @ BC! $2 increase since last year? BTW, I had made a PASR Ski Club card last year for myself to take advantage of this offer. Will you honor them for members if we elect to give them to paying members, perhaps?
-
Welcome! Thanks for the info, hopefully you can provide us with up to date info throughout the season, which, is hopefully only 4 months away!

Have you ever brought it to the mtn, becuase I've seen a Black 330 vert w/ hardtop up there on several occasions.
