it's a cabrio...anyway...Stratton has several 6 person lifts...
-
Well, from a logistics standpoint, I don't see them replacing the Challenge lift. While Blue is not a bunch of girls like Camelback is when it comes to closing lifts, the Challenge lift provides a redudant lift to the quad, which, in power outages, can still provide uphill access. And plus, that side is already crowded as is. Also, replacing the Burma/Main St chairs creates yet another problem. That side is less crowded, and the trails over are always nicer/preserved longer through the day. Putting in a quad there will draw more people, and while distributing the load, will help ruin some of my more favorite late-day trails. In all reality, I'd like the see the Challenge lift replaced with a quad, and replace the mainstreet and burma lift with a six person high speed lift to handle the massive amounts of people those two lifts service at peak times.

you're darn right you won't lock it....anyway, and i quote from rob's orignal post...in case you can't read... I'm so sorry, but I was answering the question. He had every right to pull me over, and let me know that my assumption was incorrect. But to circle my ticket, and talk to me like I was pretending to not know what the lolipops meant, was absurd.

To reiterate what Glenn said, Adam and I were skiing on the Asp, he went flying down, ranger behind him, me behind the ranger. The ranger was far enough ahead of me that he stopped, turned to look at me, I shaped my turn so that the apex of my turn was a few feet from him going mach 10. I was hoping he'd whistle at me, but nothing. I was mad. But of course my SECOND time at Camelback I get pulled over for merging from Asp to meadows (there were just lolipops) and at blue mtn most lolipops say Expert Only / Obstacle. There are some nice rangers out there, and some dicks. Ski patrol at camelback is great though...

I'm usually very humble, but the NASTAR was all me....
-
I personally don't care about a season locker. I get all my stuff on at my car, walk right through the base lodge, right out onto the snow, unless i have to use the men's room, that is.

Rob, Zach es muy est
-
I do It just so happens that he has a very similar job to mi madre.
-
Rob. Tell us. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?!?! You seem to know so much about excavation. Please, you drive a Hummer H2 AND an H1, and several other cars.

Money, for one. Snowmaking on a long trail is expensive to install, as is lighting. And I'm sure the cutting, clearing, and grading of the trail is not a small expense, labor wise. It's alot of work, and takes alot of time....
-
My understanding is that the trails they began cutting last season will not be completed for this upcoming season. I have yet to officialy confirm that, but that's how it stood after the end of last season.

As a father, wouldn't you rather not want to know what goes on up there? He'll be old enough to drink next year, that'll be scary... oh wait, it's 21, not 12
-
I'll hook you up w/ my connect at Blue. She'll help you out...
-
I must say, that is pretty funny. That kid is crazy, you better watch out for him when he's older. Excessive salt-eating can lead to excessive alcohol consumption
-
how'd lib get the vid?
-
So rob, let me get this straight. You'll let your kids drink and party it up as teenagers, just so they know the consequences the next day...
-
We all know what my and '999's money buys

Thanks Tommy, and welcome to PASR. We hope you offer even more insight into your methods. I'll be watching for them

Since my helmet is a full cut, i have hard earpieces, and sometimes the wind comes in through the earpiece just the right way, and it sounds like someone is blowing a whistle at you. I'm sure Greg and Adam know what I'm talking about, I always turn around cause i think skipatrol is after me
-
BTW rob, as skifreak mentioned, they were/are trying to devolop a condo or housing project next to the mountain, I believe. I don't know whats going on with that however.
-
your helmet is BRIGHT orange. They probably had some leftover paint, so they decided to use it up on your helmet, that's why it's so cheap
-
$110 for a helmet expensive? I paid $150 i think for my Scream Cut Pro, and so did Thinksnow I dink (skidude has the same helmet too). Can't really put a price on safety.

Blue has a pretty cheap Sunday night rate, $18, that's pretty cheap skiing. Bear's just happens to be on Wednesday, which makes it convient. how much is a tuesday night at bear? with that Blue card, you're looking at $30 for the night ($20 tix + $10 unlimited NASTAR). That's $10 more then a Wednesday night at blue, and plus theres actaully a mountain to ski on then too. And plus, an added bonus, you get to ski with me. What else could you ask for?
-
BTW, $29 isn't bad. 5 weeknights and you've made up the cost of it...
