  1. That’s exactly what @mbike-ski was thinking when he did that drive 🤣
  2. Ya, that's right.
  3. Today was my 91st day skiing JH...more than a lot of 3 year locals 🤷‍♂️That was a humble brag...I'll save you the effort of typing it.
  4. Closed. They're prepping for Kings & Queens. There were a bunch of people perched precariously on the side of corbets building jumps.
  5. Today was a "Jackson Hole of old" day. Absolutely 0 zero people, 100% sun, great groomers, and cold. It was around 0F at the base and maybe 10F at the top of the Gondola...slight inversion. First Amphitheater was a little stiffer then the carpet we had the other day with @JFskiDan and @NMSKI, but still fucking awesome. Grand was even better snow, and perfectly smooth. I definitely hit my highest speed of the trip today, probably mid 60s on Laramie and Grand. We overhead some people talking about doing another tram lap, so we decided today was the day. Skiing down to the Tram was like skiing into a freezer, with about 400 vertical feet to go, temps dropped quickly and my face instantly froze. Despite the 2 box wait, R bowl was so smooth it was like it was groomed. All the groomers up high today were fantastic, but we knew the stuff down low was chunky from previous days weather (yes, even some death cookies). It was just so nice being out on an insanely empty hill with 100% sun. It really was the Jackson Hole of old, something I haven't experienced in years. Quick Italian lunch and then I hit the trail that goes from town to the village for a quick 8 mile run. Given the snow/wind/insanely cold temps, today was my only chance to enjoy the beautiful (snow plowed) running trails Teton County has to offer. Today had me smiling on and off the hill today. Awesome way to end the trip. Top of Thunder Top of the Tram Crossing the Snake River on the pedestrian bridge during my run
  6. It was fucking cold. 60mph winds and near 0F temps at the top of Sublette were not very enjoyable. Unfortunately not the big honking pow day we were expecting but those bottomless turns on Grand made it worth it. The Shiros are probably the best ski in our group for wind slab, but that doesn’t really say much. It was still a workout and there just wasn’t enough snow to cover up the firm spots off trail that got sun baked in previous days record temps. @JFskiDan and I still explored a little including lower Casper Bowl and Woosley Woods. The groomers over on Casper were probably the best they’ve been all week. One more ski day tomorrow that should bring sunny skied and moderate temps for some turns on Jackson Hole groomers.
  7. Some interesting weather today. It was 32F and sunny on the way to the mountain. Top of Sublette was 40mph wind and probably 10F with 0 visibility. By mid-morning, everything was in complete sun and it was heating up. Spring skiing for sure. It actually made the lower faces quit nice at the expense of it getting ruined for tomorrow. We skied a couple of *beautiful* groomers today, including the completely sunny carpet that was Amphitheater first run. That is my favorite groomer anywhere, and it fucking delivered today. We also had some awesome soft turns in Washackie and on some of the lower shots between Caspar and Teton. @NMSKI also skied Buffalo Bowl which was pretty playful soft spring like snow with minimal mank at the bottom. We even visited Stokeville today.
  8. @NMSKI makes me fucking tired. We did some serious skiing today despite less than ideal visibility. We did a few Washakie's including a visit to Stokeville, Tower 3, Hoops Gap, and Dick's Ditch. My legs are cooked, and I think his are too 😁
  9. All the boys are skiing today...should be a fun day in the Tetons 😃
  10. No. I think @toast21602 and @JFskiDan would like to go with you, though.
  11. @tarponhead i had this salad for dinner.
  12. Probably Brewery?
  13. Another beautiful day on tap in Jackson Hole. Sleeper pow day on tap...5" overnight and 2-3" between 6am and the 9am opening. Me, @mute1080, and @GrilledSteezeSandwich were first in line for the gondola. It was snowing pretty hard for the on time opening. Quick rip down to Thunder through 5" on top of groomed was a great way to start. After skiing untracked down to Sublette, we skied a wind buffed Ten Sleep bowl. The boys skied Cirque, and I hiked the headwall again. There were very few tracks up on the Headwall, maybe only even patrol in front of me. It was a relatively easy hike given the cooler temperatures and the new snow except for post holing the first 50ft and the last 50 ft. Mute getting some pow Mute getting some pow under the expert chutes Turned out to be a beautiful day....that's me in the distance. Here's GSS skiing the Cirque And here is me later in the day skiing some playful terrain in Moran.
  14. Getting off the parking lot shuttle bus today after skiing...some bro and his chick were getting on the bus to just start their day, asked if we saved them any powder....Doug said “ya we saved you some...at grand targee”...it got a good chuckle from people on the bus. 😂
  15. Today was not an exploration day, it was a get as much powder as possible day. Tomorrow might be a 2-3" day keeping the crowds light, and refreshing some of the terrain I want to ski.
  16. Two headwall hikes today and I'm beat. Both were at a feverish pace to not make @mute1080 and @GrilledSteezeSandwich wait for me. Both were 18" over the head bottomless turns. The 2nd one was around 11:30am and the entire face was untracked. The first run was my 2nd best run at JH ever. I forgot my new Mac laptop doesn't have an SD card slot reader, so the Canon camera that I give Doug to shoot with has photos of my from earlier (not the Headwall) that I can't transfer off. Waiting to start.... The silliness at the start... Top of the Headwall first run. Totally untracked 18" of over the head turns ahead of me... Was too warm (and I was too warm) for the snow to really stick to my beard, but you can see the snow on my googles to prove the face shots. I'm standing still, with fat skis on...and it's up to my knees....on the second headwall run. This was 11:30am on my 2nd headwall run of the day. All easily accessible with a 10-15 minute hike. Because I'm having issues getting stuff off of my Canon, here is a preview of a shot GSS took of me off of Grand early. The boys at Mangy....
