Someone was asking about it while skiing this weekend. -

This compares S&S to Corbets...Corbets is open to the public. S&S requires SP approval, I believe. -

Also...the Big Wally video...my favorite line is at 2:50 "He jumped in Corbets with all the upper management types...I had enough of that scene so I went around the corner and jumped into S&S and met them at the bottom". Wally died back in 2010 right before my trip out there when he got swept off a cliff in Cheyenne Bowl and now has the woods next to the bowl named after him. http://www.jhnewsandguide.com/news/top_stories/patroller-buried-in-avalanche/article_db536931-3403-53d3-a79d-4418a037150d.html -

Tailgating in the parking lot is the wurst.

I think everyone that has met JLaw has a huge man crush on him....the parking lot wasn't the same without him. Conditions on Main St and Lazy were very good. Challenge/Paradise were cookied up as they saw their first trax of the seasons today. I guess I was the first civilian down PA's second best double diamond. -
Salty...I'll just give you the $5 next time I see you so I don't have to listen to you bitch about it.

I was on my SL skis last night. Lazy mile was 10/10 good for slalom skis.
-
But yet you ski the same beat ass skis every day. Maybe spring for a new pair of daily drivers?
-
Shadows...I can't help you. You're looking for the exact opposite ski that I like. Squared off tail, mounted far back, and stiff as hell.
-
I think you mean rahtard.

Snowmakers need a little more love. Blue has more terrain open than anyone else in PA.

I hope you're still not stuck in the 90's on <70mm skis.

12/10/17..best snow..biggest crowds of the year..
AtomicSkier replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Blue Mountain
Sounds like an excuse. Skiing was good this morning. The 2nd run down Midway was perfect. Grippy snow, no people, could really be aggressive. The crowds were insane, though. See everyone in the lower lot next weekend. -
Upper Main and Lazy tomorrow.

Did you know Neil A backwards is Alien? Mind blowing. Don't do that with your poles.

I'm going to send you a link for snow tires.

Don't take a lesson from Doug.

It was literally the perfect storm. 8", ice layer, and then a shit load of snow on top of that.

I'm not a fan of rocker (or even early rise tip/tails) for groomer skis, but I know why manufacturers do it. For intermediate skiers it makes the skis easier to turn. My big skis are full rockered (no camber under foot) so it's exaggerated, but having a ski that's already already in the shape of the turn means once it gets up on edge and the full running length of the ski engages with the snow means very little effort is required. They're amazing in powder, but I can rip them on groomers, too. Compare my fully rockered 30m pow skis to my 27m "classic" fully cambered ski, and the classic ski requires a lot more muscling to make the same turn.

My 184cm/98mm underfoot/27m radius daily drivers ski "bigger" than my 193cm/119mm/30m radius power boards. Things like tip & tail rocker have a profound impact on how a ski behaves on the snow.
