  1. That's true, most people don't even know it exists which is weird I mean don't they own maps.
  2. People visit everywhere, I don't know why but there are lots of hotels in Reading so somebody must be coming for the pretzels or whatever. I've been there for 32 summers, it's not visiting its a second home.
  3. DE has been nice the last few weeks, last weekend it was legit hot. Water is still cold, gonna need a few mils if you want to be in the water for any amount of time.
  4. My brother skis like that normally and it's definitely a variation of the Polish Vadelin from the 1979 movie Performers.
  5. If you sell something in part on it being cool that shit is going to fade in a relatively short time. There are is a core group of snow sports people that will ride a fucking 2x4 down the hill if necessary. They are always around they will always buy shit and there numbers don't really change. There is a second group of sometimes, they get out 10 or less days a year, maybe more if the money/weather situation is good these fuckers can really influence the bad/good year calculations. Additionally the sometimes can be alot of the money pie because assholes like ourselves aren't renting and buying shit tons of food and all that shit. The third category is the wannabe's, early on in snowboarding you saw alot of wannabe teenage girls around, snowboarding was hella cool, their peers were into it and the young teenage boys they for some reason like were majorly into it. The wannabe's were never really into it but they really liked being cool so once it was less cool, less edgy and more mainstream they moved on to other things. It doesn't really matter, snowboarding ain't going anywhere.
  6. It's a god damn conspiracy man ! Chemtrails, 9/11 was an inside job, Ron Paul 2012 !!!!!! Seriously though these reports use the SIA Snow Sports Inteligence Report - http://www.snowsports.org/Consumers/SnowSportsMarketIntelligenceReport SIA has a series of highly trained secret agents that have been placed at key points in all snow sports manufacturer's facilities to count snowboards and skis as they leave the factory. Although under great peril they are generally pretty accurate, sadly many bothans died to bring us this information.....or they just ask them. It may be surprising but a multi-billion dollar industry over multiple continents may need to know some shit about it's customers.
  7. The no fog google was invented there. Smith of Smith goggles used to run with Ron Funk and crew.....
  8. Rep had rtm 84 and katana, he also said the other three vwerks skis are all touring models with integrated skins. That's pretty interesting but he hinted at some kind of new touring binding in the works which would be very interesting.....
  9. I rode a bunch of shit last week, one that really stood out was the Solly qlab 104. I don't like Solly skis, these rocked, some kind of super light core, prolly foam with a butt ton of metal. Really interesting. Also the 190 Squad 7 rocks, I didn't like anything from the Elan or Nordica lineup, although the nyergy 105 was decent.
  10. Damn, not much left on the EC.....want to ski weekend of 25th/26th
  11. Damn, that looks better than January some years..... WTF do I do with myself now.....
  12. Have a great one, revel in the April turns !
  13. Talk about crazy, blue will close the same weekend as aspen....
  14. Nice that's real commitment, crazy pa year
  15. Nice dude, that's a cool place and there are great areas surrounding that place when it snows. Ask Moe but lots of rowdy skiers will spend time at the bowl.
  16. Yo I'll stab someone for heady, y'all better know right now I'll go blitzkrieg and Poland for that hoppy goodness. I grab some chorizo
  17. Yo I got some champagne. Anything else ?
  18. You really don't were actually pretty terrible people.....LOL
  19. That would be a killer setup, your downhill performance would be near alpine like
  20. Closing is early even my lazy ass gets there around 7 Damn hop ranch !!!! Boner fucking city
  21. They are 97 last I think and they are very heavy compared to the cochise. They are sweet but once you go tech fittings everything else is crude lol Seriously though I do really like the cochise and downhill they are fine, I probably also made it worse by only having a single pole, Billy will fix them a couple punches and they will be cool. The tyrolia adrenalin is supposed to be at the demo, I'll check them out as they are probably the only real competitor to the guardian.
  22. Your always welcome to join our motley outift, were not fast, about 2miles and hour but we are skilled and determined, we don't give up, ever. The only thing we require is no assholes, everyone has to do their part and everyone has to be cool. You'd have no problems. Alternatively if you want to go with actual non-rapscallions I have endless beta and info, once you go you'll want to go all the time. LOL This trip is tradition and one of our crew works a job up in the shale that keeps him very busy so our parameters were tight but your right, I mean we knew this wasn't the perfect weekend. They did, I love that boot, best skiing touring boot I've ever been on, excellent walk mode and super light but I'm gonna need a few punches. The toe box height is low which I've never had a problem with before and supposedly they are 100mm last but they don't feel like it.
  23. Nice dude the beast is a spring gem, way to kill it.
  24. Location: Daks, Angel Slides, Mt. Marcy. Dates: 3-28-3/30 Music: Disclaimer: Forgive the shitty pics the weather was not the best. We were originally supposed to go to King Ravine but the avy danger was too high so and last minute change was made to go to the Daks. With little planning we decided to go out the LOJ, a number of years ago I had a TR on here were we tried to ski Marcy from the top but were once again skunked, this was a redemption trip with a nice little Friday tour as a bonus. We arrived at about 1am and realized we could sleep in the car or the leanto, the car has heat and thus we awoke in the lot to light snow. Our home for the next two days. Shortly after our arrival the snow switched over to a light rain and sleet, we made some fortifications to our lean-to and headed out for Angel Slides on Wright. Angel Slides are the prominent features in the background. About midway up the weather got shit fuck nasty, in the 10mins or so it took to dig a pit and do tests we saw rain, sleet, snow and lots of wind, this slop came in hard. We skied, well kinda, the snow was atrocious, super wet, super heavy slop. This did not stop a member from hucking a 7ft ice feature, considering the snow it was truly shredding the gnar. We were now very wet and some further modifications were made to our shelter, that’s not a fire, fires are illegal…..LOL Perhaps the most impressive part of the trip was a successful Jiffy Pop, in my previous 32 years on this planet I’ve never seen a successful Jiffy Pop. Dangerous but a good way to dry out your balls. Saturday the weather improved and we decided to make the long slog to Marcy. Marcy is the third highest east of the Mississippi and a real bitch. Generally we’ve had no luck in the skiing department when it comes to Marcy. Weather was light snow until about 11am with about 1500vert and 2 miles to go the sun started popping out but alas it wasn’t meant to be. Once we got through the trees, with about 500 yards to go, it went full on can’t see shit with steady 40mph winds, we ditched the skis 100 yards short of the summit and went on foot. Good views from the top…. Looks kinda like the Moon This is proof we skied down but this point I was not in the mood to take lots of pics due to a problem described below, the jack rabbit is real narrow and lots of leg work. Last year I got heinous blisters so I bought some new boots. I rode them before hand to try to soften them up and even wrapped my feet but they got pretty destroyed. I won’t labor the point but it made this a painful trip. Plus on the way in I was clearing clumping snow and broke my pole in half, I made a BC repair but I couldn’t really use it which probably put a lot more work on the left foot. Gotta go see AS’s boot dude. It was a really dope trip with Pine Martens and lobster mac, thinking about a hut trip next year, maybe 10th mtn.
  25. Beer Jesus delivers!!!
