6" in reading, really heavy snow, gonna go tour soon.
-
Tomorrow's coming in cold, expect 4-6. 8-10 feb storm is still cloudy
-
I'd bet that was pretty wild, I mean a moving shit is pretty cool but then add in the scenary. Next time I'm there I'm trying for a tbar shit with the Hills are Alive song rocking....
-
You get a BJ on the t bar ? If so that lady or man deserves a standing ovation....impressive, most impressive.
-
That would be clutch but they would probably run somebody over, those kids ski in hordes, like a ball of people right down the center of the trail.
-
Breck has perhaps the greatest t-bar up peak 8, Powder has a poma and a rope toe. Snowmass has a poma and Killy has a poma that on some days launches you 3-4 feet out the gate. I love surface lifts, surface lifts keep everyone but the real players out of the game. They are simple and cheap, you want to run a lift up some cool shit, throw a poma in. It keeps the numbers low and the herbs elsewhere, they can be tough to smoke on but at least the lifty gets quality entertainment. Everyone no matter how good they are has fallen out of the poma track and done the ski of shame past those going back up.

Remember that feeling of the 1080's, I don't know if I've ever been so stoked on a ski and many years later I realized how bad of a ski it actually was. Still got a pair on the beater touring setup, though the first yellow version's I broke. Early park was like the first time you heard that Seattle sound after all those years of that glam rock shit. It was in your face and immediate, everyone mostly sucked, I mean the idea of park riding had only existed for like a year so there wasn't that surfing like attitude that developed later. For every 20 snowboards you maybe saw one skier, lot of peeps asked about your double tips and told you skiers can't slide rails. I want to say it was the first year the 1080's came out, Mt Snow had either the first or second year of the X-Games. Me and my cousin were trying to figure out what at the time seemed like just enormous table tops. We were from PA and had no fucking idea and spent hours casing the shit out of them. Some kid who was like 8 rolled up to us and just said you have to land on the down part and to go faster. I sent the next one and came down butter soft, I'm sure I had straight leg steeze and was rolling down the windows but I still remember that first real jump. It was like mainlining heroin and we spent the next 8 years throwing ourselves off everything with a lip. I got old and the park shit really started to hurt but the skills still come into play, I know how to take a beater, like a ohh shit everything's coming off beater and I know how to keep that upper body quiet when catching some sweet sweet air. Once a year, normally at the end in CO when it's warm I spend a few hours throwing lazy 180's and for a moment I can really feel those early days. All the completely stupid shit and how much fun it was, how you knew your were in first on something that was gonna be huge, something that would forever change skiing. It was scary and exciting, some of it was weird (Mt. Snow can crusher) but that first real jump feeling was incredible, like for 1/2 a second your were Icarus, a Greek fucking myth flying through the fucking sky.

Too warm for large sections of PA, maybe from Scranton north they will see all snow...maybe.....looks more like north of Albany will hold on snow and we will get some rain. I'm honestly hoping it comes in way too far east and misses us completely. The Feb 8-10 possibility is really interesting.......
-
I was up last night and it was pretty good. Very fast, middle of the trails was pretty slick as all the school kids rape that shit down to the bone.
-
I have a pair of AR5's you can have for free. One mount, though they need some ptex work for sure.

Feb 4-6th ain't looking like it's going to work. Euro blew up this morning on Feb 8-10th, showing 20-30" of snow.....WOW....still really far out.
-
That one shows up on the Euro as an Apps runner, most of the snow would be south of pa. Maybe 4-8" but that is so far out it's 90% fantasy. It could end up being nothing or a 12footer and everything in between. Feb 4-6 there is 1.17" of water on the models......looks like warming issues, though models say 50's along the coast which is the kind of setup where central/northern PA get big snows. Both of these are way to far out to say much of anything and with the NAO going positive the odds are not great. NWS is getting on board with a 4-6th storm, so far this week it's gone from a 10% to a 50% probability which is looking good. EDIT: Lately PA north of Philly has been in the snow dome, you take a unicorn and a panda and make them fuck, you shave the resulting creature and get the yeti, jersey devil and bigfoot to knit you a literal dome. It is the rarest strongest material on earth apparently because for the last two years we can't really get any storms to break it.
-
My fav is to yell bear and shit while riding that long ass lift between the two, everyone looks around and then herbs from other states will totally tell you they saw the bear too.........back in the day good slack skiing in the crotch.....now it doesn't snow anymore apparently.
-
At least 20......lol

Don't know, I've heard conflicting things, apparently the mantra and katana are being combined into a single ski that I don't know the name of. The fourth one in from the right looks like last year's katana with colored sidewalls, I wonder if the replacement isn't finished yet so they just put last year's Katana in the display. I'm sure SIA will clear all this up.
-
I really like their skis, Cochise is a perfect mid fat, Bodacious rips for a 30+ radius, Bonafide is just a gas at the perfect 98mm waist for EC riding. I'd love to pick up a pair but I already have those kind of skis. Spur is apparently all new, wonder what the shape and radius are like.

Just for you AtomicSkier who no longer owns any Atomic skis Vwerks New Lineup Yo peep these Blizard's, they look hot

In four runs I've blown the same gate all four times and it costs me seconds and it's going to drive me crazy. LOL I'm hooked for sure, so sad we only have two more weeks.......

No wait compared to the high speeds and I was mostly running Switchback
-
Today wasn't even that crowded, was feeling lazy and didn't show up to 1030 and didn't wait really at all at the double chairs. Switchback was boner city, nightmare/dreamweaver had too many clowns for mach Looney. Tommorow night is going to be an ice box.....
-
There is some terrain their that with another foot would be worth checking out. Today we did a little bc work.....sort of......
-
Thanks again dude today was sweet, gonna have to get up there more often and with a touring setup on a day it snows.
-
I'll be there around 830, hill doesn't open until 9. Should be cool, never skied there before. EDIT: Yo wait is there a Johnny rockets on campus ? Damn.....Double damn...... Schif, I got a purple helmet and lots of color, not sure what jacket I'll wear yet.....LOL
